Unironically the best way to improve the balance is by buffing roach so it can easily pierce through a wall of wards.

The balance should be roach losses to aggro and beats control. But Haven and Mode can set up boards so fucked that roach has no answer. Haven is especially fucked because it just straight up kills roach on turn 9 so roach cant play a game of slowly grinding down their defenses even if they wanted to
