Crow used Pic related to activate Monster Baton and Yusei discarded Earthquake Giant to give his Shooting Star Dragon the effect to negate battle damage and blow up the monster it battles with after the battle. Zushin couldn't negate this because of a loophole with its effect only negating the monster it battled and not the effect a monster gain from a trap copying a monster's effect.

A noted piece of new tech I've found is since I'm already playing 3x Fossil Dig and can opt for 3x Ground Xeno is a one of Megalo + Astero and Meteor. Ground Xeno obviously pops it out of my hand if I have raptor access but Astero can actually be fielded for various extension purposes depending on the line. It also lets you commit to an early Herald without compromising on the endboard (much) which is the only nib protection I'll ever get.

Not really, it seemed fairly eligible, it has decent extension going first but going second it really struggles since the quick effects are only on the opponent's turn, and the Level 6s all have ignition search effects making them comedically easy to interrupt, and the deck's already native difficulty in making Junora is exasperated going second since you'd really want to use her as a boardbreaker but realistically her requirements means your opponent is just going to chew through all your interactions long before you get to her.

And people will still say Medius is shit, he's already about to break the potential man barrier any day now.
Effect-wise he's a stronger protagonist than Albaz, Visas and on-par with Diabellestar.

The reality is this. Judai's 'friends' in the early seasons sucked (talking about the main cast here, not characters like Edo and Ryo who were good characters but didn't really count as being in Judai's main friend group). They had no real connection with him and they were a fucking stressful burden to keep around. Constantly getting caught, constantly jobbing, constantly putting all of the weight and responsibility onto Judai.
People say that Judai abandoning the old crew for the new ones was out of order but fuck that, he was much happier with the guys from the other schools. They gelled together better, they were more capable, they lifted the burden from him and they just plain had more in common.

The new guys had cooler designs, cooler decks and were better written and not as 1-dimensional as characters like Syrus.
