I think the best descriptor of this "game" for me is inconsequential. I just don't care about anything in this game. I don't care about the setting, the guns, the vehicles, the cosmetics, hell, I don't even care when I die and whether or not I'm doing well. This has never happened with any other game before. There's something so aggresively mediocre about this it makes me feel no emotions at all. I guess all the maps suck absolute dick, which was to be expected after the beta, so it does evoke some emotions. Yes, even the two "big" maps. I never liked Firestorm and Mirak is just bad because of those tall buildings.

Out of about 3 or 4 dozen attempts to launch the game only one made it to the main menu and then it fucking bluescreened me when I clicked on loadouts. I updated my BIOS, updated my drivers, verified secure boot and TPM2.0 are on in both the BIOS and in windows, my drives are GPT, I reinstalled the fucking anticheat, I don't know what the fuck else to do. This rig is only 3 years old.

The PDW isn't that big of a deal. Yeah, it sucks but it's meant to be sprayed at close-range and you can always exchange it for the DAO-12 once you unlock it. As far as the rocket launcher goes, you can also use it as an anti-infantry weapon, either in a Quake-like fashion or as a guided sniper.
While my initial post is still true in that it's a class intended for anti-tank combat, it's quite capable in infantry combat in a pinch if one isn't a shitter.

I've played a lot of Manhattan Bridge on Breakthrough. Won all games, defense needs to put up a pretty hard fight to win, since the 1st and 3rd point are just steamrolls. 1st point allows for such easy flanks from attackers and 3rd gives attackers all height advantage. 2nd can be won fighting over B, otherwise its game over. It's the only map in the game where the defending is harder than attacking.
Mirak might get better after unlocks, but its a brutal meat-grinder that feels like a BF1 map except smaller, with defense advantage that feels almost unfair. Most of the other maps are hard to lose on defense but you can certainly do them if you don't know the maps.
Sobek might be legitimately the worst map of the bunch. Feels completely untested. Defenders have near every advantage from the get-go, you can get up on top of the buildings while attackers can't, attackers have way too many exposed angles.
I now understand why breakthrough was only available for Liberation Peak and Cairo in the beta.

if you were winning inf fights while playing objectively bad classes for fighting infantry then you were simply playing against bad players. it's not complicated. a full squad of medics reviving ecah other will wipe the floor with a squad not full of medics of equal skill. the class balance was just really shit. also you couldnt really rely on getting kills with mines against any experienced tanker, it was just a pointless class, only used for repairing vehicles. just like anti-tank really. sraw/eryx was very weak and the missiles so underpowered compoared to what tools engis now have. the best way to fight vehicles was to just run engineer and repair your friendly vehicles, the wrench was all you were good for really. you as much as show your face against a G36E pointed at you with any of the crap engi/anti tank had you were a free kill unless you were at point blank range which in a game with much bigger and open maps was hardly ever the case. simple as.

as for needing middle ground between weapons, i disagree. the weapons in bf6, for better or worse, play so similarly to each other that unless you are sniper or shotgun, there is usually very little adjusting between each class of weapon, my starting smg in bf6 regularly goes up against ARs and comes out on top pretty often even at mid range. its really just personal preference to a pretty big degree now, so that's just another notch in favor of open weapons.
