As a returning casual player that decided to give it a second try with the steam release I only see this game as a visual novel with cute and funny cunnies and absolutely BUILT titty monsters snowbunnies. All these raids, bosses, challenges and whatever else are such noise.

Rio literally wasn't wrong and Sensei's entire thing is listening to students and not necessarily shutting them up. He only talks back to Nagisa LONG after she tells him to his face that she is going to throw out students like they're garbage, and he only talks back to Seia near the end of a tumultuous arc. He is not in a situation during v2c2 that he has faced before either. It's the first time he has a student he literally knows is some weird being because he helped find her, and knows is dangerous to some unknown capacity, and she's suicidal (something we now know in volume 6 that canonically Sensei is not the type to make platitudes to the suicidal, but instead talk around things and try to give them reasons to live). In other words, he can't tell Aris "everything will be okay" because that's a lie. He and Aris both know that is not true, because Sensei has genuinely NO options to remedy Aris's problem.
Rio does: killing Aris. And while that is extreme what is he supposed to say here "No you're wrong, Aris isn't dangerous at all"?
The reason the conflict begins to be resolved with Momoi is because Momoi is genuinely too stupid to see this as a moral conundrum. And as for Sensei's ultimate conclusion of "We have to reach out to others for help", Sensei is literally only human and has faltered in high pressure situations before. After this chapter, when Misaki tries to kill herself, Sensei barely has anything to say and instead Saori does most of the heavy lifting. In volume 1, Sensei has no concrete reassurances for Hoshino. He can only babble that he will "'do something" and hearing this, Hoshino decides to leave the next day.

The only people who complain about volume 2 chapter 2's inciting incident perceive things with blinders on. I'm not even going to bother bringing up the now multiple times Sensei has had crises of faith in stories

The entire second chapter is an RPG allegory once again where people didn't want to be defined by their roles but still felt trapped by their roles. Rio called Alice the demon king, ignorant of the fact that Rio herself was the typical demon king who literally had her own evil fortress.

Rio created a false binary, decided her own binary must be correct, and then acted upon it while ignoring all other possibilities, and actively sabotaging and other possibilities. She's the typical idiot who creates the problem she claims she's trying to stop because she's so narrow minded about it.

His least involved is Volume 5, both chapters.
As a matter of fact, he seriously does almost nothing for the conflicts of both chapters of that volume. He isn't passive at least? And he is "working" on Shuro which is something, but he does not stop or convince Shuro in chapter 1, and he doesn't do a damn thing for the core conflict of chapter 2. For both chapters, Nagusa is the most important, with the other members helping a lot throughout both chapters. Yukari sadly takes a backseat in chapter 2, but is crucial in chapter 1.

Sensei's highest level of involvement actually is not volume 3, but volume 4. Volume 3 actually plays a lot of tricks and kinda makes Hifumi into Sensei. Sensei definitely plays a role but it isn't "seen" much. I think that's why volume 6 is remedying this with Sensei literally teaching, directly.
