Helis are just so bad now. They're moving way too slow for their target profile. I know infantry players are fragile, but man this feels like it is a smudge too far. When they release littlebird, that will of course change. Since LBs are notoriously impossible to balance well. Is there still some kind of memory or other performance leak? When i start ill be getting 100-130fps but when i played for a bit over an hour the game i was in i noticed i was only at like 60fps and sometimes dropping into 40. the jet cannon does INSANE damage vs air, its way too overtuned. 1s burst destroys choppers and jets and you often die before tickrate even updates so you go 100-0 without even knowing you were being fired at. infantry stingers were nerfed vs air pretty hard but jet cannons do way too much, 1 good jet pilot completely dominates the air without any real counters. dual flight ceiling also means you cant even try to contest jets with a chopper either since they an always attack you from above.

Holy fuck that campaign was terrible. Bad story, glitchy gameplay and terrible direction. And holy fuck they are bad at player guiding, I nearly walked into insta-kill zones like 15 times. The enemies are extremely bursty, I was playing on veteran and I'd say of the dozen or so times I went down, all but two were avoidable. Prone on the ground? A random enemy will get lucky and 1-burst you. Running at a full sprint with less than a half-second of time exposed to a MG gunner? Either they don't even have time to turn to you, or you're instantly dead. None of the characters are even remotely interesting, and all of their interactions felt extremely forced. The fact the campaign ends with no real resolution isn't even a big deal, because I have absolutely no desire to spend another second in that heaping pile of shit.

it's because BC2 had a good campaign but they always do horseshit like this with the campaigns now because "war is hell" or some shit. You need irreverence to bring some levity and laughs to a campaign where you're supposed to like the people. the overarching themes can highlight the cruelty of war, but the characters (to remain likable) need to not care about it. Original MW1 and MW2 did that perfectly. they had serious moments and cool people doing cool things. when you're up against a wall and the world is hell the entire campaign, but you never, ever lose, the story is just grim and boring.

This campaign would have been better with literally any other ending. Joining Pax would have been more interesting. Killing Mills and wiping out pax would have been more interesting. Turning kincaid in and having mills reveal he was a rogue asset the CIA did create, but lost control of would have been a fuckton more interesting. But this story just meanders through multiplayer maps and setpieces until it's over

Breakthrough defense is simply how this game is supposed to be played. If you’re doing anything else you’re not going to have a fun time. In particular conquest, there’s no denying it’s a flat downgrade from BF4. While this game has many potential improvements and innovations that need to be made the first thing everybody will point to is the map size. Liberation peak is the best map, not like I say that with overwhelming praise. Simply because it exudes king of the hill energy. Unfortunate but that’s how it is.

I know this might get downvoted to oblivion but at least hear out some thoughts and feelings of mine if you will.

For starters I’m glad that this game is seeing the success it’s seeing. I’ve been a long term battlefield fan all the way since Battlefield: 1942 and I hated seeing it drop off for a while there and I love seeing the franchise make a big return as it has.

I do recognize and admit however that this game is definitely made for a different generation of players and I don’t think I can really keep up anymore. Maybe it’s competitive shooters in general at the moment but I just can’t seem to keep up with the pace that this game provides and find myself more disappointed and frustrated in matches then I feel any satisfaction or fun playing them. Every map seems like an extreme adrenaline rush that doesn’t seem to ever stop. I feel like this is such a far cry from the feeling of the older battlefields and I’m just really disappointed.

Like I said I’m really glad that 6 is being received (mostly) well with a lot of people and I’m really happy to see battlefield being in the mainstream gaming scene again but I just cant deal with the over the top and fast paced scene of this game.

I think I’m going to stick to Battlefield 1 for the time being.
