Since Ada unlocked on the Salvation Breaker mini-game I tried to make her work but I couldn't.

The crossbow is cumbersome on the inventory and don't offer much in the field (no debuff or side effects other than a bit more damage) and her Limit is not very useful since there is knockback cooldown on mobs and bosses (and it can also be almost completely replaced by the shotgun, making it's effect redundant).

Claire on the other hand has a very useful Limit that heals fixed 5% of the cover, which helps on surviving clutch rounds, and greatly boost reload speed and consequentially dps. Also her signature weapon (the grenade launcher) not only has usable damage but also debuff enemies reducing their defence.

My best run, as of now, has been with Claire at wave 60 something and a score of 700k-ish, with the buffs on the pic (forgot about to take the inventory screen but it was the usual all grenades, one shotgun, two grenade launchers and some buff accessories), while Ada with a similar build couldn't reach that high, not even close.

Is it just me or Claire is still the best to reach the highest score?

Elysion you have all the important ones already.
For Missilis put in Tove so you can get a start on the treasure dupes for shotgun team and Quency. Put in Jackal for pvp.
For Tetra slot in bunny Ade instead of Volume. Put in Biscuit for pvp.
For Pilgrims you can take out Crown and Grave and switch in SBS and Red Hood. Grave is good but more of a raid character while the others will help you with campaign.

It's going to be hard to make nuMatis different and good so that they don't invalidate their originals. It was easy for Absolute as all of them were garbage but it is the opposite for Matis. Laplace is usable, Drake is part of shotgun meta and Maxwell is a good buffer and decent dps for part bosses where no healing is needed.

So I have some questions about this game's idea of progression.
What exactly is the expected rate of powering up your nikkes?
Is the game just designed around the player always being red numbers and getting walled by various bosses or cheap mechanics?
I know its a f2p gacha game so they expect you to spend money but is the game's primary mode really this poorly held back by the passage of time or the willingness to spend money to move forward?

It feels like every time I pass a wall I do progress quite a bit but then I'm just stuck for weeks until I do it all over again. There also aren't enough mats to go around unless they expect me to only invest in like 7 units or that I buy shit from the cash shop.
