You know what I think Rev could have really benefited from? Having more utility skills of each legend. They only have 3 utilities of each type, and four types core, so no matter the player, their utility bars the same for each legend.
I get that it's likely "balancing reasons" because they get two different utility bars with legend swapping, but I just make the class feel strangled.
Other classes get four utility skills of each type, and Engineer gets FIVE skills per type, with the caveat being they have one less type of skill than the other classes.
I don't know, if Rev had four utility skills per legend, I just feel like that would go a long way to offer some build diversity to the class. It's not like you can equip more than 3 utilities anyways.

LFG simply by existing creates a closed off community.
Closed off community creates rules to separate "us" from "them".
Players from outside of community only hear about "they are elitists" "they kick if you don't have kp" and have 0 interest to fuck with that shit.
Anet can make the most babbified braindead content, but if it's locked behind LFG it will create same "kp or kick" culture that would instantly exclude 90% of the population.

Quickplay kills the KP culture because you don't get to pick who joins, but it won't make people to move on to LFG content.

If you are a determined player this is not an issue, you will read guides, maybe make your own lfg, or find a training group and get your foot in the door to progress further. Majority of players would rather ignore the content than do all that.

My angle is that the devs want normal mode to be the place where you learn the content, but there's still more to learn to get into CMs so how can their new system help players with that? This idea that some sort of content could work as tutorial for harder content is naive by itself.
Majority of mechanics that game could throw at you are already in the game or self explanatory enough to figure out at a glance. There are only so many ways you could draw a circle on a flat arena.

In my opinion the biggest hurdle will always be the LFG system itself. One is the community aspect other is the psychological aspect.
I don't know why is that but I've seen enough people share this same sentiment: Joining an LFG carries more personal responsibility than clicking quickplay button. So these "midcore" players who would be fine in harder content doubt themselves and decide not to do it.
Just to reinforce my point a little - dungeons in GW2 were objectively easy, I don't think anything there was harder than your average WoW heroic dungeon. But they still bombed and died extremely quickly because most of the players refused to join. I'm curious if Fractal event brought new blood to T2 LFG, but I only recently returned to the game so I don't have any data to compare with.

I would love to be proven wrong but I expect same results from this new system. Casuals and Midcores would stick to quickplay while every other difficulty would be dominated by hardcore crowd.

If someone is doing raids but refuses to do CMs, I think it just comes down to personal choice at that point. Like, the best you could do it pick those players individually and drag them into easier CM to give them a taste or higher difficulty. Yeah there's obviously some cutoff with acceptable difficulty that everyone will personally have. Even with the player in >>542685861 they clearly do some CMs regularly but not others. The problem is with only 2 tiers of difficulty it puts a lot of strain on the NM where two very different types of players are sharing the same LFG. I think what it really comes down to is that some of these encounters need a third difficulty tier. Whether that's an easy mode for Dhuum or something intermediate for KO. They could even go so far as to reclassify some existing CMs as LCMs if they don't want the "easy" label.

About halfway through with the Skyscale unlocking (just finished finding all the magic locations all over the place), honestly this hasn't been so bad thus far. LWS4, I really didn't like Dragonfall as a map at first but it's so fun to jet around with on your Griffon once you get the hang of it. I got a small trial of the Skyscale by dipping into SOTO early just to get Weaponmaster Training and wasn't impressed, but I'm hoping that it becomes more fun with all the masteries. Make a rotating quick play style que for publicly joinable raid wings. The selected raid wing swaps weekly and if you want to que you can only do that wing for the week.
These instances hold 40-50 players instead of the usual 10, making mechanics, DPS checks, and damage requirements much easier. (Basically just model it after dragon storm)
Clean up any mechanics that could wipe the entire raid if 1 person screws up. Adjust rewards so they are more interesting to casual players and don't step on hardcore raiders toes too much, like raw gold. Give that to the regular raiders on their clears in addition to their normal rewards so they don't complain.
