The blacks on all three monster's armor has a very fuzzy simplistic shading then a similar way of shading the golden trims, and the way it's shaded kinda makes you feel like it's trying to emphasis the "geometry" of the armor for lack of a better word

Thus guy having a negate sucks. Not because that makes it good but because that makes it bad. Should've had ab extending effect to make Actual bosses instead. This is a jobber midboss you'd fight halfway through the stage, not an end of stage boss like Savage.

this is an incredibly well designed indirect support for KTS
the card is strong, works under the dark dragon synchro lock if you want to run resonators, and directly addresses weaknesses to nib and evenly
while I still doubt KTs are good enough this was their single best attempt at fixing an archetype to date

Nah they make it easily with seal + clip. Any ceiling increase is appreciated since they can't really use the generic synchro pool. Dragunity and RDA would struggle to make it since RDA doesn't want to waste Rising on it and Dragunity need to find a level 1 tuner that isn't terrible, which theirs all are. They might have to start begging BEWD for tuners lol.

You need a chainable card to be able to negate CL1, but if your opponent chains anything to your card you can no longer use the new synchro to negate. In theory it works better defensively to protect your shit from interaction than to outright negate your opponent's boardbreakers or starters.

I think a complaint you could lodge with both Medius and Diabell is that it bridges the decks 'too' cleanly which feels less organic than how Visas works or Albaz tries to work. I personally don't mind this too much.

Design is just kind of okay, could have been better. Effect is bad. "But it's super poly do you think super poly is a bad card?" I've never had Albaz actually resolve vs me, it's an abysmal card and leading with it just signals that either your hand is bad or you're on a bad deck (ie I've played some weird dogshit stun strategies that played Albaz as a normal).

Illusion was so poorly executed it's ridiculous.
They had an identity (eye of horus + battle effs) and less than a year later most ditched both the egyptian theme and battle effects.

Outfit is a bit weird, but love his design. The fact that they later cut off all the dragon bits is criminal. Amnesiac backstory is kind of bland but the fact that he turns into a dragon (and has multiple forms on top of that) is cool as shit. It also makes for Ecclesia's dragonfucker memes which is an amusing spin on an otherwise plain but servicable enough romance. Had a strong start to the story but stumbled near the end.
Gameplay wise he's in a weird spot because he's ultimately a soft garnet whose effect is bait 99% of the time unless you normal set him into a dragon endboard, but oddly enough you do want to see him in hand as part of 3-4 card combos.

You take the same gimmick of an amnesiac falling into a strange world except instead of turning into a dragon and running around with an excommunicated saint, he goes around beating up his single-emotion clones who had basically nothing going on besides lording over their respective mooks, only to have everything reset by some guy who just shows up at the end and snaps his fingers. While thematically inspired the story was all style and no substance with a side of Tearlament eye candy.
Much like Albaz he's a soft garnet, in the form of a combo piece as opposed to removal. I never cared for Scareclaw as a deck and never got around to playing with Mannadium, perhaps because the latter wasn't quite the synchro combo that I tend to gravitate towards.

Everything about her design screamed perfection from first reveal. After taking all of her in, my final thought was, "the only way she could possibly be any better was if she was a lesbian". Unfortunately, her story was a whole bunch of nothing until the flashback arc which contained the entirety of the narrative substance until the predictable but servicable conclusion. The problem, I think, similar to Visas, which Albaz avoids, is that it lacks a villain from the start, even though Azamina is a lot more involved than Veda. Leading with White Forest provides a strong start, but then you still fall into that pitfall of uneventful nothingness until the final battle.
She's a starter can theoretically trigger on the opponent's turn which puts her utility leagues above. It's kind of a shame she isn't White Forest combo (but probably for the best balance-wise).

Don't hate his fruit basket design, but probably leaning slightly towards the negative, if only because he's blonde. His Diactorus forms are marginal improvements. Magical school is one of the quickest ways to absolutely quash any interest in the story. Fortunately that was just an initial setting but at the rate things are going we're not looking very good. There's no unifying sense of conflict, DoomZ come and go in a single set, and again there's no central villain. In theory the idea of connecting each student to a different tribe is sound, but there's no narrative substance, they just exist.
Medius is another Diabellstar in function with the added bonus of being a normal summon. The power level, on the other hand, so far has been a complete disjoint. I do have all the cards but I haven't played with either Artmage or DoomZ so far, both feel somewhat overly restricted in terms of what to do with the endboard, not that locks are a bad thing, but they lack in-theme versatility it seems.
