It is designed as an MMO hybrid fight. That means it expects you to have an MMO trinity+1, which involves at least 1 player acting as the tank and pulling aggro. If you do not have a tank pulling aggro, you are expected to die and wipe / quad cart because your party composition is dogshit, and doesn't deserves to pass (at least, not without a significantly harder skill requirement).

If you run out of stamina while blocking maybe slot in some guard on top of your guard up.

Back in the day I was already complaining that 3U ran worse on Wii U than on 3DS and it was unacceptable, plus it had very noticeable input lag.
If they can't make a game feel good to play then they deserve to get shit on.

Wilds fixes makes me believe that the expansion will be the best expansion ever released, even capable of surpassed 4U and GU.

For a while after TU1 I tried it and it made me enjoy the fights more - in particular, Jin with this mod is capable of 2-shot with his claw>ice wave combo, and the ice breath will straight up 1 shot. So in the first quarter of this financial year when wilds launched capcom sold 12,381 units of new titles of which 10,108 units were sold by wilds. So the vast majority were sold by wilds and while we don't get the PC percentage for wilds we do get it for the total sales overall (catalog and new titles) and it's 54.4% of that. So assuming the proportion of PC vs console sales are very similar for catalog titles and new titles and given wilds makes up the majority of those new title sales, we can just take 54.4% of 12,381 to get an estimate of wilds sales on PC. That leaves us with 6735.264 but these are in thousand units so just multiply by a thousand and you get 6,735,264 copies of wilds sold on PC but obviously the real number at the time was lower than this because this includes a few games other than wilds so maybe about 6 mil or so for wilds and we know wilds hasn't sold much since then so that should still be roughly accurate.

So wilds is likely about 60% PC players. I think this is probably the best estimate we can make with publicly available numbers

Reading old monhun forums is funny. Obviously there was a meta just like there is now but people were so shit at the game back then they'd be recommending sets with wind pressure negate and stun negate instead of telling people to git gud and use the meta damage set. Times sure have changed but I'm not sure if it's the games getting easier or people as a whole getting better. Probably a bit of both. It does make getting info on the definitive meta harder but I think that's part of the fun of the old games. Testing things out and finding out what's best on your own.

I'm pretty sure it's an overall dps loss just like mounting at later stages of the game. It's still useful for the topple though. I don't know why you think you have to chase monsters across the map though. Monsters will periodically just show up wherever you're already fighting the monster and they'll either turf war or just attack each other and one will be rideable. You can also knock monsters into each other and jump from riding one to riding the other if you didn't know. So when one shows up just wallbang the monster and keep hitting it like normal. If you want to have fun riding monsties you can do that too
