What do you bring for bug holes? You don't get enough nades to clear even a medium camp and you can't bring a primary to do it so your only option really is the grenade pistol but I need the ultimatum for bile titan holes and then an anti tank stratagem weapon for chargers and impalers. There's like no good loadout for bugs.

The look of the squid and bot fronts annoy me. At least the bug front is all connected and activity is centered around the Gloom. The squids have the frontlines right near SE and the MS City, then there's a line of liberated planets, then another blob of squid planets where all the attacks are happening. If we win the MO the bots will be in the same position, we'll hold a line of planets cutting them in two, so all the planets in the back with their factories won't have any warp connection to the front lines, the bot front will be 3 unconnected blobs and that won't affect resistance rates at all.

It depends on how many of the "heads" are intact. The heads, actually amalgamations of assorted body parts, are all vulnerable to explosives and pass on damage to the main hp pool. So explosives can double or even quadruple dip on how much damage is inflicted to main. I think you can logically have the GM in the system that has more player agency, the problem is Joel isn't reactive he's got a plot that's going to happen and is unwilling to actually change things if players go the way he wanted. I think in general most of the mechanics based around health and damage are pretty dogshit, inconsistent and poorly explained. Does it take four grenade launcher rounds to kill this meatbob? Or fucking seven? Will the game explain to a new player without a mic or friend guiding them what the hell medium and light pen matter for and why it seems like they're doing no damage? And how about them weak points that are both hard to decipher, and sometimes don't even act like they're able to be hit between hitbox weirdness and the rough weapon recoil?
In a game where being a guest or a host to a match outright determines how certain enemy mechanics work altogether, and where the best DPS weapons are still just a fuckin suggestion because of hit registration being dogshit (and that's if a piece of debris isn't a gigantic invisible wall for no good reason), it'll veer wildly between you getting awesome crack shots on a Hulk's eye, and your bullets not even actually veering properly at your goddamn crosshair because they're acting off-center. The whole thing is an inconsistent bag of dicks.

explosive resist can be useful if you need to stop dying, but otherwise most bots can be handled by basically every lightpen weapon in the game save for tanks, warstriders, and factory striders; bunkers can be killed by as little as four commando hits if you hit the 'body' and can also be killed by enough strafing runs, 500kgs, or hellpod landings; war striders can't really do much to you if you're too close for them to aim and don't get stepped on; the bio-processors might be more efficient to destroy just by calling hellpods on them instead of bothering with arming hellbombs; explosives into the troop bay will fuck up bot drops, aside from AT being able to remove a dropship entirely; so on and so forth

A lot of bots are countered by their weakpoints and AP4 handles nearly everything efficiently. Warstriders kinda break this mold and require you to be near someone with ap5 or higher (rockets).

The biggest hurdle I find for new players is getting enough damage on the field and the right damage on the field to keep up with spawns.

For most beginners I recommend recoiless. After a bit you should try getting used to eye shotting hulks with weapons like laser cannon, railgun, autocannon etcetera.

Take ap3 as well like lib pen. You'll be able to still deal damage to bot chaff while u learn their weak points.

Rule of thumb, all chaff can be killed with ap2 or ap3.
All heavies can be killed with AP4, or rockets for warstriders case.

Oh and long range POI destruction is a god send like strafing run. It also can potentially kill hulks.

Orbi laser:
Enables bad players by making them weaking, and then giving them a solution when they're fucked. Worst strategem in the game honestly. It's a crutch that tricks you into thinking you need it.
Orbi rail cannon:
It can only kill 1 heavy every 3 minutes. That's basically as efficient as spamming ultimatum. But ultimatum gets ammo back from other resources. Doesn't even one shot factory striders.

Orbi precision strike:
It's a precision red that allegedly rewards direct hitting things, while being incredibly hard to do so and the cooldown making it very innefficient compared to easier options like eats.
Smoke:
It doesn't even give you full coverage.
Its very inconsistent frankly, and no one runs it nor could tell you what it does.
Rocketpods:
Hyper specialized anti heavy strategem is still substantially less efficient than eats. The only way to get half as close to AT potential as EATs is to spam it off cooldown because 50% of the cooldown time is call in and time between throwing charges. Offers nothing else outside of killing heavies too making it very difficult to make use of the 4 charges.

Id change mines too, just make them immune to explosives so they don't trigger and mass detonate. That or make the mine layer refresh mines every couple seconds that get destroyed.

Airburst should be like some weighted charge that reorients itself to the center of gravity of the planet and then airbursts downwards not at an angle.

i honestly feel like gun customization got shoved out in an unfinished beta state. weapons should've had attachments that exist in the files not long after launch, but now we're already nearly half a year since their inclusion. secondaries don't have them, collabs don't have them, and some weapons are sitting in weird situations where the community straight up abandoned certain guns entirely because they can't mag-mod. and what you do have is incredibly arbitrary and treats a bare minimum iron sights like a progression tool for more ergo instead of being.. you know, fucking normal.

Purple questionmark on your screenshot is some asset that wasn't loaded for whatever reason. Some cause nothing but purple question marks and don't affect your game in any way, you can sometimes encounter when joining ongoing mission. But in certain cases, like not loaded enemy or weapon it can cause crash after some time. I suspect that this is reason why you sometimes can crash when joining other players, game just didn't load something. For the same reason I can't spawn APC with other players in lobby as they don't have any way to load it before joining mission.

The armor's perk is nigh useless, because most anything that would cripple your chest is going to either kill you outright, or you'd survive anyway. It does look good, but that's no reason to get the warbond.
The de-escalator has no reason to exist when it's merely the grenade launcher but worse, and the arc-dog is a FF nightmare that gets outperformed by the gun-dog.
The rifle is ok, but is redundant, especially because of the current state of status effects.

bot mobility sucks generally except when you're dealing with the Jet Brigade every once in a blue moon. this plus a turret or smoke can really fuck up their advance routes, and even berserkers aren't speedy persistent bullshit bastards like some bugs or overseers. the fundamental factors of bots is largely guerilla warfare, hit and run, using cover and escaping sight lines, taking out crucial targets instead of fighting the horde, since their objectives and outposts are a lot more focused on infiltration prior to destruction. you CAN fight the bot front if you know what you're doing, but it's a lot less straining on the reinforcement budget if you do tactical strikes.

you have to effectively treat it like a different game almost entirely from the terminids and illuminate, and that can really shake people up if they're not expecting it. especially given how many projectiles go flying the instant an outpost or group goes haywire.

Using a alpha clip material over an advanced one to make a layer over the top transparent made the underlying advance material come out darker than expected.
