It's not really "another" leak, more like a Part 2 of last year's. Leaker withheld some info since it might interfere with Game Freak's plans, but promised to show it once Z-A was out. He returned shortly after someone dumped the game.
So there's only two of them: the Gigaleak (2018 Nintendo breach) and the Teraleak (2024 Game Freak breach). The data can get spread out over the course of months or even years due to various factors, most notably Discord shittery

pokemon has been mishandled from the very beginning, gamefreak/TPC most definitely has a toxic culture within it's walls (mostly toxic positivity), there is alot of issues between them still thinking they are at the heights of poke-mania, the higher up's going on power trips, the pokemon card fiasco (which is still an issue) the lawsuits, milking nostalga, shithead/arrogant developers, glitches and bugs, etc

it's the exact problem sega has/had, succuess made them blind to the truth of their issues, you dare not speak about the emperors new clothes.

but anon, open worlds and shilling paramount in the racing game are crucial to the future of sonic! they're totally rebooting all those dead franchises you love! and tetris crossovers are crucial to the future of puyo puyo! i'd also bring up the literal toddler show on youtube but we talk about a game that is mainly for the younger demographic itself

If your name's Sonic sure, they did nuke that Streets of Rage remake and have fairly asinine regulations on stuff like Persona if memory serves.
>stopped buying/caring about it around oras/sun and moon.
I guess that's fair, to this day the Pokemon games just hit a spot for me that genuinely no other game manages to, it's the only RPG series I can fully immerse myself into in terms of the "roleplaying" aspect, I somewhat resent the technical hiccups because outside of that I've loved what the games have done, I think Violet straight up has the best story and gameplay in the series among other things, just wish they'd be alloted more QA time so more people could see the genuinely amazing parts of the newer games.
Anonymous No.542691893 >>542692854

My guess is why they don't go after Sonic is that japan absolutely despises blue needle mouse and would rather just not deal with it. (not that I blame them considering the...vocal fan base's reputation proceeds itself.) but since he makes too much money they can't kill him outright. (nick toon stuff being in sonic feels like a humiliation ritual kek)

pokemon is a billion dollar franchise they could at least try to make it not look like a shovel ware "best value" game but they won't because the majority of that fan base are sycophants because member berries, you are allowed to like pokemon or anything else but you should still look at it from an objective lens as best you can, most of the fault lies with the suits pushing too many games out in such a short amount of time, it just isn't viable, really the entire gaming industry is imploding on itself due to bloated budgets and crunch, somethings got to give sooner or later with how things have been going. (rip xbox)

I'd go as far as to say the gamecube ones look better, stylistically speaking and it did dexit without issue albeit stealthly so they really don't have an excuse (granted they did recycle the models/animations from stadium/2/gold/sliver)

sakurai is right, game development is hard with how much of a shit show it really is it would not shock me if we got another crash in the next decade or two

I think I politely disagree on the looks of the games, I think most of the issue comes from the inconsistency. There's locales I find genuinely stunning in all the Switch games (off the top of my head, I love the Slumbering Weald in SwSh, and adore all of Area Zero in SV). You can get some really nice sights in the games, just wish they'd give them more time so everything reaches that upper echelon. I'll disagree on GameCube, although, I was always slightly mixed on the art direction of those personally. I do really like that every Switch Pokemon has a distinct visual style, you can see a good amount of experimentation even within the same system, with Lets Go being more watercolors, SwSh looking more like CG anime, BDSP being more diorama-adjacent, Legends Arceus aiming for a traditional Japanese painting look, and SV being the more "realistically detailed" of them all. I think the games as they are ARE genuinely pretty great, just... wish the tech got more spitshine y'know? Although I guess that's always been the case with Pokemon, I mean compare the DS games with the FF3 and 4 remakes on the same system, same with GBA and Minish Cap. I think there's enough good in them to still make them more than worthwhile, but I can sadly see why some others don't see it that way.

it's a tricky situation to be in for sure, I don't rabidly hate the series I think it needs a bit more time in the oven, maybe they should consider going back to sprites and go for a HD 2D thing or something else, I can't help feel there's a bit of "the COD mines" going on regardless of quality perceived or otherwise, maybe they need some new blood to help things along more.

(minish cap had some fantastic sprite work, hardly anyone seems to talk about the capcom Zelda games very much.)

Well, from a purely artistic standpoint it's pretty good too. My suggestions would be practicing a bit more with line art, such as shaving the ends for a cleaner look and getting a bit more stable with your strokes so it's a little less wobbly.
As for coloring, the color choices are great and it shows you have a good fundamental grasp on coloring textures like gold such as using a dark brown for the inner part that mimmics a reflection and using cream for rim lighting for your current skill level. However, for certain things like Susie's hair it lacks contrast in where shadows are casted. This is also a slight anatomical error, but with the way her bikini bra is drawn on it looks like her whole tit is attached to her armpit, you did good by adding a curve that suggests depth to her tits as a whole instead of only showing one tit but I think if you lengthen the line meant to be her back area and added and extra bump for her other shoulder (similar to the curve you made of her other breast), increased the length of her torso a little while pulling a line from her waist upward it'd look a lot better.

Been meaning to write something with Elfilis addressing his brother since SCW came out but it's been a topic I've been conflicted on since beating the game, it's a bit hard trying to reconcile Elfilis having any level of care for anyone but himself after writing him as entirely self-centered for a solid 3 years, however, I do feel like the figure with the 2 of them together and the fact Meteon is stated to have gone Elfilis's way after Elfilis's failure to invade the Forgotten Land, there HAS to be some genuine familial care between the 2, despite how objectively "cosmically mighty" they are. I definitely want to avoid falling into the "villain loses dignity over caring about relatives" trope since I think it's a diservice to Elfilis, so it's a tightrope making sure the brothers' bond feels authentic but not out of character.

In other news, working on the collab, still a bit torn on what level to base it on. I'm 100% going with the art gallery idea, but I'm not sure if I should make it World of Drawcia given Canvas Curse's whole theme, or if the Wild World mansion would be better seeing as it already has a bunch of portraits and... would be way more manageable to draw, World of Drawcia is aggressively Kumazaki and I'm frankly not quite sure I'd be able to properly replicate it.

It all comes down to the direction and vision. Kumazaki is giga-based and has been hard-carrying Kirby and HAL on his back for more than a decade now. Say what you want about Masuda but he at least had a clear vision for Pokemon that he was accomplishing. Meanwhile Ohmori is a huge hack that was never qualified to direct and had no idea what he was doing, and he just produced a bunch of worthless slop as a result.

HAL also isn't too prone to making retarded decisions unlike the other companies the reply chain talked about, they clearly still love the shit they do unlike SEGA's constant mistreating of all their franchises or whatever the fuck game freak's doing i haven't caught myself up with the leaks (i still have to look through most of the shit from the first part last year).
i think game freak just doesn't have much of the drive to keep making them anymore, when you start as just a few guys making a silly gameboy game after making game magazines with loli art i feel even years later it's probably a big toll on them to just keep pumping cash out of the machine and get burnout. but i'm not exactly an expert on the inner workings of any game company.

I disagree and moreso feel like he's dealing with similar problems that've been around from the start (that being technical issues and lacking graphical prowess), which is much more noticeable when working with 3D, even moreso in HD, than when doing 2D, see that ever reposted comparison of Pokemon on GBA VS other GBA games (Minish Cap, Sword of Mana), and Pokemon on Switch VS other Switch games. I think the games are still good at their core and despite their issues are more than worthwhile experiences, I just wish they'd allow themselves to clean them up technically more than they do. SV has the best story (and arguably gameplay, but I never had any egregious glitches people shitpost about, only some annoying slowdown at most when going from one area to another ocassionally) in the series as far as I'm concerned, even if I like BW's a lot. The newer games are good, they just really deserve more polish than they get to let it truly shine.

HAL has it pretty easy, even with Kirby growing in popularity it's still small enough as a franchise for Kumazaki to oversee everything and assure no one is messing up too much in handling it. Pokemon meanwhile has a too-many-cooks problem with several entire companies trying to do different things with the franchise with no one really having full control or a vision over what is happening. Some of it will be accidentally kino but most of it will be slop as a result. Sadly the main games fell into Ohmori's hands and he was unable to do any good work even after 3 generations.
>>543073905
Nah, Ohmori was never good and all he did was trash. He was just carried by the base pokemon gameplay still being decent on its own but everything he did hindered it rather than enhance it.

I guess I'll just disagree then. I think a lot of the additions in the newer games are damn solid, stuff like Let's Go expanding on HGSS's follower mons into being a more involved mechanic while also helping out with grinding is great, I do specially love the open world approach in SV that still hints you towards an "intended" path with the leveling of each zone, the traversal with the Raidons over all is pretty damn great. But hey, matter of perspective n all, I've liked all of Ohmori's games a lot, my issues lie solely with the technical aspects which I still consider a bit of a shame, but again, been the case with the series from the start unfortunately.

i'm more about the fighting game aspects of kirby titles and to see them still limit abilities to one button for attacking gets in the way of the analog nature of 3D; e.g. you need to be absolutely still to perform a bomb throw instead of a bomb bowl
and second, i think the ability evolutions take away credit from the more definitive vanilla abilities, being outright upgrades to the originals instead of sidegrades that increase one attribute of the ability at the cost of another
i think battle royale's control schemes and movesets along with copy scrolls instead of evolutions would make me like the game better

At some point I have to think the decision making at gamefreak is just malicious incompetence, like with all the problems these games have why are you making an xbox game? why are you not outsourcing development of the main games to help development? why is the actual dev team so small?
And then there is just the regular consumer unfriendly stuff like subscription services to transfer pokemon and removing pokemon from games.
Not even getting into my own personal tastes but the removal of battle towers/frontiers makes the easier training changes meaningless if you don't like wi-fi battles.

the way things are going they are going to kill the golden goose sooner or later with how genuinely unprofessional they have been behaving the past decade or so, even if you take out the issues with graphics and glitches everything feels half assed and wasted potential compared to other games that deserve far more attention. (not even talking Kirby mind you) due to apathy or tribalism meanwhile the suits don't give a single fuck because the cards,t-shirts,posters, mugs, etc print fat stacks of cash money while people celebrate getting hoodwinked due to brand loyalty or just to just up little Timmy for a couple hours while the industry/brand dies from a death from a thousand cuts.

I do wish they'd allow themselves more of a budget and time to clean up the games, because again, I think the main meat of the games is still great, but they need more polish. Can't comment on the subscription stuff (only transferred forward once for ORAS's Gen 3 > Gen 6 diploma thing). Removing mons is a bit of a shame but at the same time it makes some more sense with newer games seeing as the total count is at 1000+ now, on top of newer games giving the mons presence in the overworld be it as followers or overworld encounters, which need to have more behaviors accounted for like their hitboxes and movement speed, etc. I do feel like they're bottlenecking themselves with the small dev team unfortunately, but I don't think that means the games themselves are bad. I never gave a single shit about the Battle facilities so I barely noticed their absence, if anything the lose of Aime and Pokethlon stung more for me.
>>543113667
>even if you take out the issues with graphics and glitches everything feels half assed and wasted potential compared to other games that deserve far more attention
NTA but I just... can't agree with that, I do genuinely think that everything else about the games but the tech aspects is well handled, the gameplay is damn solid and the additions in newer games have been more than substantial, they seem to be putting more care into the stories (specially with Legends and SV), I think the designs are still pretty great, I just don't see where the issues outside of the tech stuff lie at all. Sorry for rambling so much about this, it just feels like being constantly gaslit about this since it feels like the Pokemon games I played are a completely different reality from what people say about them.
Anonymous No.543135865

I wish they would take the help they could get, if those leaked development slides are true then they have actively denied help when nintendo requested they outsourced work which i cannot understand why. Removing pokemon was my cutoff point because it goes against the whole point i like pokemon and it was imo completely avoidable because all of the assets like models and animations have been the same for over 10 years now, i can get it for legends games because the gameplay is different but mainline games are still turn based.

I know its a reductive accusation but i can't fathom any other excuse than laziness or contempt for being stuck as just the "pokemon devs", why else would they have games this unfinished and still split their team into working on another game for the xbox games showcase? Most devs would be gnawing at the chance to make something with pokemon on the box, but gamefreak seems to be trying to do anything else.

that's fair
reason i said it's early is cause i'd think they'd want to stir up hype closer to release
but that said i'd also think that if it were this week we'd have some info on it by now, if not in the next 12 hours

Is Susie the Kirby equivalent of Rosalina?
>Was introduced in a entry that focused more on being cinematic than actual gameplay
>Was heavily pushed throughout the 2010s as they appear in literally everything from games to merchandise to promotional material
>Both are long haired immortal beings that has tragic backstories, which also involves their families
>Both are heavyweight characters
>All the previous female characters were tossed aside or just completely ignored in favor for them
