Hello, im gonna be spoiling MOTWE, canto 7 and Agatha's books, i advice not reading further If you care.

I would like to propose a interesting theory about this ID so It plays more into the source material for the intervallo (Aka the Mystery). So as few may know MOTWE is based on the Murder on the Express Orient but as fewer may know is that casseti of all the La Mancha fiends isnt a DQ book character, but rather its the name of the victim in express orient murder, more specifically he's a victim that deserved to have killers, which is why casseti was a villain.

However meursault got two suspiciously things going for him, one being a New third kindred and two having grey hair. As we know, the death of a kindred does not raises one's rank, therefore this meursault had to originate directly from the bite of a Second kindred, so this couldnt be a casseti who got promoted after the events of Manager Don happened, therefore It can be a different person entirely. This adds up considering meursault has a different hair style and color than cassetti.
