I know others have said this but short CBs are very bad. CBs are most effective at being in the way, and you want them to be as big as possible to do that and even 5cm can make a huge difference on beating a striker on a jump
Target Man doesn't work on any of the positions for Barbarossa, which means they'll play as a blank playstyle. Blank is never bad but its seen as a mistake to leave a wrong playstyle, however this works to your advantage as blank will be some much needed midfield support
HP CMF isn't very necessary with 3 GP strikers but it can function well enough, at the cost of some midfield options
rest of the medals are pretty solid, if mostly similar to /vrg/
Gold CF could use First-time Shot over something like Heading. FTS occurs a lot more frequently and is more effective

every medal is built like a finishing player, with no attempt at setup or support
DMF isn't a waste of a silver, but CB is. Heading and Acro Finish are striking cards, your defenders don't need them

front medal setup is pretty good, nice and balanced if a bit too leaning towards support
silver DMF complicates most of the midfield, they'd be better off as a CMF or AMF and a nonmedal DMF
HP CMF nonmedals will rush into the box and try and take striking focus away from the better strikers, and the medals are all support enough to give them a chance
Acro Finish is wasted on nonmedals, it'll cause them to waste otherwise good opportunities

Golds are a solid pairing, but mixed intentions. Chad has mostly range cards, then Mazing Run which conflicts. Joker is entirely striking focused and could've used the 5cm more than the AMF
silver AMF probably doesn't need multiple shooting cards as C10 is a support playstyle, and without them as an AMF the export lacks some needed offensive support
CMFs are good, but the HP one could use a shooting card as you'll count on them coming into the box on attacks for that extra body
Asymmetrical fullbacks aren't very common but I get the idea here, and like it although it seem like it would make more sense if Chad were the left striker to recieve the pass from the offensive LBs
Double As are free but you don't shouldn't double A manlet fullbacks to CB if you never intend to run them, and manlet CBs aren't a good idea

Corn as well as the other medals don't have much to help with passing/build up, especially on the CMFs like Burnice who should be entirely support built as a C10
Double As feel all over the place for nonmedals. In general its hard to build a single nonmedal to be good at multiple roles, and it can lead you to making them kinda bad at multiple positions instead of good at one
the midfield and tall defensive line is a good setup for a defensive, slower team but then the medals all want to score. None of them want to help on defense or on attack building so it either stalls or needs to run on longball and pray

anyway i think its fine that people who join NTC don't always go on to be managers. the point should really be put people who are thinking about joining into a lower-stakes environment where they still have to do everything they would for a normal cup run but isolated from the actual cup itself. it prevents somebody who isn't 100% committed from joining the cup, realising they don't enjoy the workload and then tanking their general in an environment that actually matters to the fans. there aren't many managed invitationals and most newbies won't have a team they can use for those anyway, coming and borrowing a general is a great way to get started.

Like the /gd/ vs /t/ match I believe it was, where /t/ was just backpassing for what felt like 15 straight minutes in-game, and then eventually passed it right to the other team who immediately scored off a counter.

Beyond frustrating to watch a team do the Simpsons soccer gif, and it happens in almost every match.
Really the only redeeming thing I can say about the game so far is that strikers can dribble very impressively, but that's more-so due to the fact that defense is so fucking retarded in this game and just gives the strikers infinite room to dribble and do tricks.

I think you have it the opposite way round. For all it's flaws 17 is probably the most responsive PES to livemanaging and one you can run any average export that isn't fundamentally bad and livemanage your way to a win just finding the right set of sliders that match responds to. Livemanaging on 17 is a lot like lockpicking and probably the only PES it definately works on if you just keep turning the pick until something clicks and the other team loses unless they respond. But 17 is the most unreliable PES to test and is practically useless because of how sensitive it is to cpu speed. The only reliable way to 'test' is taking results from every streamer's machine and trying to figure out what set of sliders worked best there and keep re-using it on their machine.

16 was surprisingly accurate to test on but would throw a game up it just locks a team out and doesn't let them play every now and then. 15 is the worst of either world. Livemanaging doesn't really work or cause much response, the only thing that does is where it does anything that influences rng like subbing players, saving presets or other seemingly unrelated things that aren't sliders. Changing the numbers in attack or defence causes better starting play but doesn't work changing mid game. Testing is almost as useless on 15 as 17 because of how much it does what 16 does just stonewalling a team to get blown the fuck out at random but with twice the frequency 16 did.

15 is marginally better to watch than 16 because of the way attacking play builds up which makes use of a lot of trick card executions and actually behaves more like irl divegrass attacking play than any other PES. But it's just too hard to overlook how bad it is to manage on and how irritating it's flaws are, likewise the games being slower and feeling far more of a drag. Both are clearly inferior to 17 to watch.

The only tournament that has done it that comes to mind is the /vr/ league, and I have to say it didn't really add anything to the tournament. The PES 21 stage was noticeably worse compared to the others too (19 and 16).

The issue is that as long as you have 49-55 or 57+ teams, you're going to need a 3rd level of competition to make sure the babby has a sane structure and losing the 3rd tier is going to suck even more than losing the 2nd tier. If you want more teams entering then you need to start building interest across the entire website because otherwise you're going to end up with a dozen autopilots that use the same roster and aesthetics since 2017 all for the sake of variety.

While I voted yes I can't necessarily say that I think PES15 is a good PES. I think it meets minimal standards and I support the attempt to widen our options. I think its fine for a cycle and I think you can enjoy watching your team play memegrass on it.
I also made the decision early on to just run a flat 442 so I don't even have to bother with the fluid stuff so my experience with testing on this PES will be different than other managers.
While the CBs do frustratingly dumb shit its not like they don't fuck up in most PES's and I think half the problem with the shit defence so far is people running PES17 defensive sliders and think many/medium is equivalent to mentalities.
