That's always been the weird thing. The monetization isn't actually that bad, there're a ton of games that're far worse. But it's incredibly petty, it really comes off as the worst of all worlds. There's so little incentive to spend money and a million little annoying things they try to tax you on that might not even be helping profits. Daily packs not counting towards pity when it'd only come out to one extra pity a year. Sleeves being stuck in poorly distributed bundles so you don't want to buy them even for the one you want.

Given that the game clearly has a budget and intentions of long term support the model just seems so poorly thought out, like it belongs to a game that's supposed to be a much cheaper pump and dump cash grab. Like if KMR was making these decisions I'd want to fire him too.

I said this before but I really would enjoy the story mode more if it was about these cards instead of the leaders. I want to know more about them. And the card descriptions are full of codes and obtuse shit that you have to piece together like a puzzle.
