Targets (melee):
Block 0: THRM-EX - 0.9 ATK interval, 649 DEF and 45 RES at full steal. Good for ranged bait and placing in front of a blocker to debuff enemies with steal.
Block 1: Skadi, Eunectes S1 (cloning only). Surtr for melee arts damage. Lee/Chongyue - trading lower ATK for shorter ATK interval and faster steal
Block 2: Specter2 - best overall stats (even better with Skadi's ATK boost). SilverAsh - better range, no penalty on ranged attacks, +10% ATK from 1st talent
Block 3: Specter1 (with AH buffs), Blaze/Gavial. Penance/Mudrock if more bulk is required, followed by Blemishine.
Block 4: Hoshiguma (with mod)

Targets (ranged):
Arts: Eyja (Mod2+). Despite high DPH, Mystic Casters attack too slowly unless range is more important.
Physical: fastest ATK interval - Dorothy. Long range - Rosa (+ATK talent), Andreana (AH buffs). High DPH - Schwarz, Pozemka. DPS - Exusiai, Aak as a lesser option.

Misc:
Phalanx Casters: Still relatively tanky. Radial range covers multiple directions.
Crushers: Hoederer - Hoe S2 gives extra atk, steal gives 250 DEF. Mumu s2 gives shelter & regen
Fast attackers like Dorothy/Exu can dps split tank

Globs are healed by perfumer/ange/bards/suzus3/blemis2/etc.
s3 ranged can bind lock with fast enough attacks. With enough tiles to split into you can create quite the dps bombardment. Melee will stunlock for the duration trivializing enemy abilities and statbags
s2 melee will top off hp when tanking. ranged will compress more hits into fewer deployable tiles. But you will need to hold and time with a split for slower attackers which can be ass.

When free rolls are done it's economical to just roll to the soft pity break 6* if you didn't get one from the free rolls. 24 of the free rolls can't be used anywhere else so it's a 1/3rd discount. If you're a gambling god it's an 80% chance to get them by 150 rolls and a 4% to need to go to 300 to spark.
It's the eternal struggle. Gamba and make it, first 6* and dip but you have to pay the full 300 spark bill later, or gamba and fail so now you're all those rolls plus another full 300 spark bill in the hole.

Yeah, sometimes you use true or elemental damage to bypass dodge/damage reduction. Couple ops have dodge ignore.
Yeah it's placing your blocker last. For flying/long ranged it's about going front to back then capping with your blocker relative to the enemy to stagger incoming damage as they come closer or go past your blocker.
Generic openers have a couple routes
Chargers can kill some for dp while you deploy your ranged ops then use their retreat refund to deploy a centurion for a dps focus or a protector/healing defender if they can't take it.
High investment low dp cost dps like marksman, trapmasters, fighters, etc. can kill the early lanes. Sometimes a cheap lancet is all that's needed to extend their longevity while you get the rest of the team out
2 pioneers often hold the dogs off and generate more DP while you get your team out then you plonk down your final blocker
Bagpipe talent+2 flags splits out a ton of DP as long as you don't get rushed too fast
Agents kill and generate dp
Tacticians kill dogs and generate dp

ok i'll admit exu2 is really strong, but not in the way i expected
i've used her in is2 mostly as a ranged executor
she's great at plopping down, activating s3, then retreating, even right at the start
the redeploy gimmick is team centric so we'll see when i find a use for that, but she's more fun than i expected even without it

When you look at a guide you're looking at what it does and how it works. Then when something doesn't work you look at why. A common situation is a deployment not having enough damage or crowd control for a 2-block to not leak a 3-enemy wave. Or a deployment failing to kill enemies before the next wave comes and overruns. And so on. But you fell into the classic newfag trap of raising too many units at once. Newfags should raise one 6*, MAYBE 2 if you want to push it, not to mention you're raising tons of other units too.
Here's what you should do:
-Stop raising Amiya, she can stay at that level just fine til the end of the game, that's enough.
-Prioritise Thorns & Reed2 as your only 6*s, stop raising Midnight, thorns is an upgrade in every way
-Thorns is a godly laneholder with regen, magic damage, ranged, dot, hits air, fast aspd, etc.... but really unlocks it at e2
-Reed2 is two units in one: medic and aoe caster,...but really unlocks the last at e2
-Exusiai should be your third 6* priority, but keep her at e1l40 for now
-Raise your dog defenders, they are solid for cheap. Beagle, Cardigan, Spot, prioritise Spot as he hands out heals
-Drop Vanilla, Plume, Adnachiel(you have Exu and Kroos), Melantha, Lava (you have reed2)
-Kroos is good as secondary sniper, cheap and punches above her rarity
-Bring Lumen and Ascalon as needed, but dont raise them anymore til you have the above sorted out

So your roster should be:
Thorns, Reed2, Amiya, Exusiai, Lumen, Ascalon, the 3 dogs, Kroos, maybe Hibiscus. Still have space for more+borrow
As for where you're gonna get the high level materials and money to raise them? Integrated Strategies, thats what they were made for. I suggest you do IS3 or 4 as they are easier, but there's a current event for IS2 that gives bonus rewards, borrow your pick of Wisadel, GG/Lapp2/Kaltsit

Ray's main skill is 3 but it's important you borrow an e2 90 mod3 s2m3 to try it out. the sandbeast refunds her ammo and has reduced redeploy to smooth over downtime with her massive range

Ho'ol x3 s3m3. Borrow a y3 friend to see if you care about shift stall strats with weedy, gladiia, wild mane, etc.
Remember that you get max mult at 3+ tile range away and that if you splitbox an enemy between tiles both tornadoes will hit for far more damage.
Her silence is spotty and not reliable outside of s3 but oh well.
Arts fragility only applies the highest amount so she's helpful on her own but Reedalt, etc. will overwrite it.

Exu2 is the best OP in the game.

These AU skins are cute and all but I rather stuff that shows progression since I doubt we are getting 2nd alts. It doesn’t help that the vagueness and the fact we won’t get any modes set in the world of these skins makes anything interesting thats brought up feel under baked and ultimately pointless.

So what was the boss gimmick this time around? I didn't even notice the boss doing anything and it only took me 2 tries and the first one I only failed because I didn't realize it was a normal stage instead of an all melee tiles one.
