As is, effective setplay for Mari is probably in the open after knocking the opponent away, giving the projectile time to travel so Meg can 22H in behind it.

I think 5U/6U should spawn Mari further behind Meg, and 623M~U put Mari behind where Meg lands instead of directly in front of the opponent.
Then again, if Mari tanks a hit for Meg, 623M~U could have useful defensive applications against some characters. Can't check myself right now, does Mari absorb the hit for Meg like the lowain bros, or will both of them get hit by the same move?

Most consistent but not fully automatic thing I can find is ending with cL cH.
If you delay the cL until just before the opponent hits the ground, the cH will lift them just high enough that the last two frames of 22M will hit.
The stance 5L 5L 2L 5M sequence sort of makes the cL cH timing almost automatic, very consistent.

I really like her visual design and personality, don't give a shit about "muh lesbians" since I'm not terminally online, but her gameplay is extremely underwhelming. Like what the fuck is the point of her shark projectile? It's just way worse version of a basic fireball with no real tangible upsides. Her "divekick" is worse than Bubs', her follow-ups from two of her specials are laughably bad to the point that some characters can guarantee a punish on all of them with a single special, a clear sign that not a lot of testing went into her. It's like the first thing you check when you make a move with different follow-ups on-block, can an opponent beat all follow-ups with one option, and they couldn't even do that. Everything she has feels like a worse version of something that's already in the game. Why would anyone bother logging on to play her? At least Galleon and Vikala felt somewhat unique in gameplay despite their flaws.

Learning your routes is of course important. Exchang's got some explosive damage, particularly midscreen. You don't need to win many interactions to close a game with her.

I think you're doing great. You just gotta play more to get comfortable fighting all the characters, getting consistent with your combos, getting more comfortable in neutral, etc. Try to hold the block button less in neutral, learn some frametrap strings instead of doing autocombo as pressure, and get your combos down and you'll be off to the races.
