The main games are doing marvelous since mania, we have more new games to come, we have phone games, we had 3 successfull movies, our last game even scored better than mario kart (debatable, I know) we had two series on Paramount + and Netflix, we have a lot of merch, we have tv shows, the comic is doing fine and even comic characters are officially acknowledged by sega, the classic series got revived along with reviving old characters, we have merch, And even thanks to sonic success, sega is starting to revive old sega ips like shinobi, jet set radio, crazi taxi and golden axe, not to mention how a lot of important corporations (not only game related, something much bigger) started to collaborate in a lot of stuff, making obvious this franchise is worth something to the general public again.
I remember how sega always wanted for sonic to be a multimedia franchise, and at last they made it.
I grew up with sonic and it makes me really happy how he made it, after almost 15 years of being mocked.
Unrelated, Funny enough busy revived and got a new game, while, crash, megaman, banjo & kazooie and rayman are almost dead, at least sonic is giving a helping hand to megaman, while rayman is getting revived. Pac-man for some reason is our ultra bro along with mario, that's cool.

The point if the ME was the prevent the ARK for deorbiting and colliding with earth, although it ends up doing so anyways because of the biolizard merging with the station, so ultimately it was pretty pointless. All knuckles did in SA2 was fight a ghost sidetrack rouge from her mission. You can remove both of those and the story doesn't change.
