My after-action report: I took my unpaid Air Groove, Nice Nature (genuinely nice and not evil), and monk El into B finals, for which they only just barely qualified. I faced two paying players, each with a red schoolgirl Maruzensky. One Maruzensky was the #1 favorite. Somebody's Grass Wonder was the #9 favorite.

Air Groove performed excellently and crushed almost everyone. At the last moment the #9 Grass Wonder shot forward and passed her. The same player's Oguri Cap did similarly. So my ace got third place, but I won the Cancer silver. And the #1 favorite Maruzensky got ninth place. I am not dissatisfied.

I will now do a single 10-scouting and get something shockingly good, but I don't know what yet.

CM is un-FUCKING-believable. After finishing Gemini in 7th/8th/9th even with better builds than my opponents how do I follow that up in Cancer? Well, I literally can't get worse than that, but somehow the game still tried.

Five opposing umas don't even have enough Stamina for mile races, let alone for the 601 stat check. The A+ rated Vodka doesn't have a single Gold acceleration skill. There are only two other Front Runners so my El Condor Pasa has a great chance of at least hitting second for her unique, if not Angling and Scheming. No Summer Maruzen. One of the Fronts doesn't even have 800 Power. The other one doesn't even have 1000 in Speed or Power and their build's headliner Gold skill is Beeline Burst, one of the worst/least-efficient skills.

I hit the matchmaking jackpot after giving up on stressing out over training after my Gemini performance.

I finished 6th/7th/9th anyways.

El was third of three Front Runners (even with more Power/Wit and more mid-race speed skills than the other two, and even being Rushed for another chance to position better) and faded into obscurity without being in position to accelerate. My two Late Surgers hit activations as they should yet looked like they were completely standing still.

First place went to a Seiun Sky with 951 speed and 999 power.

The inherited plancha is 0.1 but the innate is 0.3. If I'm not wrong accel is also multiplicative which is why front El is so good, but inherited plancha will very rarely make a difference, if you proc angling you pretty much already won.
Unrestrained is also too volatile to be worth considering since its activation is random. Its best use is to help you overtake if you're still somehow second rather than overkilling by stacking it with angling.

Luckily, I realized this after round 1 day 1 and panic built a better suzuka. I might not have qualified for A finals otherwise. As it was I got a total 50%WR in round 2, 11/40 which came from suzuka.
I was trying to stick victoria too, but I don't have pasa at 3* and didn't have time to make a parent anyway.
In the end I got to see nasty nature blow past a pretty powerful front pasa, finishing under 1:30. Worth it.
