I was messing around with equips and I find that the stats they add actually go above the stat cap
-my healer heals for 13k-13.5k, after equipping 600 SPI from equips the heals go to 13.7k to 14.4k
-I can give one mon 600 SPD from equips and now they consistently outspeed my other max speed mons
-I gave one max atk mon 600 atk from equips and the damage range increased from 23k-25k to 27k (I'm just spamming Omegamon's S1 against Etemons in gear forest

Also I swear that Stout strength used to work with overheal but I don't actually see any extra boost now, but Combo Magic glitch still seems to work. I can't get any extra damage from Weak Point Blitz either, maybe I bugged the game somehow

The main issue with world is that you're always on a clock and 90% of the time you're grinding your mon so you can play a fraction of the game until it dies.
This has really nothing to do with normies. It's honestly bad game design.

Yes, yes, if you already have the strategy guide and have the minmax routes already memorized into your testicles, any game becomes a joke, but at that point you're not really playing a game, you're just optimizing the game out of the game.

Ok so basically the story is:

- Chronomon is born on the Iliad server and eventually masters the ability to control time
- Eventually makes his way to Akashic Records and finds out that Iliad was created by a god (sleepy pink Homo on the left) and gets angry that his fate is set by said god and he doesn't really have a free will
- Choronomon tries to rebel against pink Homo along with the Titans but gets his ass handed to him and trapped away in the Akashic Records and used to power time
- He gets super depressed and goes full emo and eventually figures that the only free will he can express is to an hero himself
- Sets into motion a long ass chain of events creating the Aegiomon, the Titan invasion, the Shinjuku Inferno, etc all so that he can eventually lead Aegiomon to himself at the Akashic Records and have Aegiomon kill him

tldr: stupid time bird went emo and wanted to kill himself after finding out god exists

Just throwing the idea around, would locking evolution stages behind progression like in TS work in a World game? The main issue with death is that most players, me included, hardly ever leave the city when not in the highest evolution stage to not lose training time, so what if you make it so you can't evolve to perfect till you get 25 prosperity points and 60 for mega or something like that so you actually Ihave to go out and recruit adults while you are an adult and so on.

I would keep the age mechanic, but i'd rework it but moreso the systems around it.
Also another problem with World is that raw stats basically play the game for you and a players, naturally wanting to optimize their gameplay, will inevitably go with trying to get best stats, thus resulting in grinding which results in the aforementioned issue of 90/10.

Explained in a very simple version: i'd basically make digimon have loosely fixed stats depending on the specific mon, where some stats can be influenced by equipment or personality and there would be extra stat with a hard cap that you can get from training and fights.
-Training will consume an hour but grant you way more stats than fighting.
-Fighting will not grant you a lot of stats but battle will not consume any time.

This would mean that all digimon need to be curated and balanced, but it would also make them unique, which would also mean that the roster would be small.

The battle system would be more commandbased/methodical and slow like DW1 instead of N0.
Moves would also need to be thoroughly curated, balanced and checked for how they impact the battle.

Anyway, there is still a lot and better iterations that can be made with the world formula, that even a non-autistic-non-digimon would enjoy without turning the game into a dumbed down, diluted slop for normies.

The later World 1-like games already solved this problem, your gym is really bad without upgrades so at best you'd only be able to train an ultimate digimon, maybe a mega if you go for the ones that has a really low stat requirements, so you're still encouraged to go out and explore to recruit more digimon to make training easier for you by unlocking more facilities like the farm for training boosting veggies and especially the restaurant to use as your sole food source while you're staying at the city since the stat boosts from them adds up.

it's not the panacea you think it is. inheriting 25% of 8000 is 2000. supposing you need 8000 to beat the end-game, you're still gonna have to grind. I propose upping the stat gain cap so that instead of +24 points per fight, you can eventually get as many as the encounter would give in one go (I'm sure there's a formula to calculate those)
another alternative would be making the digimon immortal but adding scenarios with a fixed partner

The biggest issue with self-inflicted Reversal is that it flips EVERY multiplier.
This isn't really a problem for Attribute and Element multipliers, since those are the ones you want to flip anyway, but Trait multipliers being reversed is almost always(if not always) a negative. Any unique move that "deals extra damage to [x] trait" becomes shit if you intend to mainly play with the Digimon reversed.

A lot of what went wrong starts there
It had a regular development cycle but a large amount of that cycle was making open worlds. This came at the expense of development time for the story, dungeons, cutscenes, balancing, etc. You can practically feel the parts of the game that were sliced up like Dazai's entire arc being crunched into one roof conversation and 1.5 cutscenes.

They just make 4 fields, had Doi cook up some overpowered waifumons, made two of the worst dungeons of the franchise and then shipped it.

There's also MH:Wilds where it's open world came at the expense of it's massive fucking performance issues.
Metal Max has always been "open world" but something happened when creating Xeno that made it end up that way. I still can't fucking believe Xeno Reborn exists.

The problem really isn't open world per se, it's that the developers are never going to get the time and money they need to make one. Fucking Bandai isn't going to give Digimon CDProjket/Rockstar amounts of development time to make the open world actually work.
