Thinking about getting into Vagrus again, since the DLC comes out next week and I haven't even been to the area from the last DLC
One of my biggest complaints about it, is how there seems to be little in-universe incentive to ever leave the "starting zone", or if there is I haven't found it yet.
Like the world is harsh and full of things that want to kill you, so why would my character ever want to stop grinding the same old trading route that gives a steady income. I guess once your Caravan grows big enough, you'll need to make bigger trade loops to keep things profitable after flooding a market with a resource. But for now the only reason to go to a new place is because I, the player, want to see what's out there.

I think the game does itself a big disservice by showing you this huge map but only letting you play in a small part of it. I get that they have history and worldbuilidng for the wider world and it's just not feasible to implement it all on a tight budget, but this way the playable area, which honestly is pretty damn big, seems so much smaller than it actually is.

Well yes and no. I guess it's nice that you don't get forced out of your comfort zone prematurely, but as is I need to suspend my disbelief a little if I want to go explore new cities. A little quest along the lines of "Hey Boss, let's check out XY city, I know someone who could set us up with a good deal there" would probably enough.
As is travel is dangerous and expensive so it's hard to find an in-universe justification why my shrewd caravan leader guy would risk it all to travel to some far away city, when there's plenty of good money to be made on the routes I've already established.

I think I'm pretty much done with Obenseuer. The only thing left do is upgrading my tenement. I want to see what it's like fully upgraded, but it's also grindy as fuck. From what I understand it'll change in the bazaar update.
I think I'm going to cheat in some money to max out the mines and see how much money that makes. Then I'll see if I'll have to cheat more.
I'm going to start a new save when the update drops.

I base my interpretation of the term on the actual origin meaning, which is basically an fps with a lot of liberty when it comes to how to proceed in a level, because you do have to understand the concept started back when FPS were a dime a dozen but were almost all super linear corridor shooters a la Call of Duty (the older titles), Medal of Honor, Time Splitter, etc, so they're far more immersive than narrative driven fps. One of the most clearly defined aspect is how there isn't one given way to go from A to B or even C or D depending on how complex that given game is, and they encourage thinking outside the box to figure out novel ways to proceed that isn't just ''Follow the yellow paint until objective complete or plot advance''.

Well, managed to fix most of the damage from the bug with a bit of advice, so I think I might be able to pull it off now maybe. Every location taking so much Brownstone and Wood is doing my head in a bit.

Yeah it's not that hard to get a simple victory, the hard part that I eventually gave up on was getting a 40k saved / no objectives failed victory on Unfair. There's people who can do it but I'm not one of them.

The fine and decent upgrades should be move to the new contractor in the bazaar with some better money making schemes.

The crazy thing is that this wasn't a custom piece of terrain, well it is, but it was made using ingame assets rather than being handmade first and then giving surface collision and properties. Basically whoever made this did it the hard way and only using ingame tools and it's a really neat way of using the inbuilt tools.
There are also a lot of beautiful hand drawn levels as well and/or custom textures that I consider either really aesthetic to look at or are a technical marvel considering the engine and limitations the game has.

It's like StS autobattler with a cultivation theme, you pick a character (that have specific powers) that belongs to sects (with different game mechanics) and make a deck that triggers from left to right - in order to fight eachother in a round robin like TFT.

I get that, yeah. Personally I checked the game exactly because of a classic "autistic furry makes and insanely in-depth game" meme. In game everyone being weird, vaguely reptile humanoid creature adds a bit of alien quality to the vibe. I never fully trust or relate to NPCs and that seems appropriate for the paranoid zone setting. So far it seems mostly a cosmetic thing, which is a shame. While I personaly dislike all and every form of ''remasters'' because they're almost always lazy cashgrab, there is a world of difference between a remaster and a proper remake, hell your claim that re4r is such a case is pure bollocks because they actually updated and changed a lot of mechanics and internal stuff, it wasn't just a graphic update, which is what the Deus Ex Remaster is. Another good exemple of a proper remake is the System Shock 1 remake by Nightdive.

100% completed this today. it's tough but short precision platformer where you flap around as a bat and land on the ceiling to recover energy.
You're thrown is blind (as a bat) so you have to figure out the controls and flying mechanics yourself. I was initially going to give up on it after struggling to get 10 of the collectibles. but i went back to it the next day and managed to get 45 which i enough to get the main ending.

I finished all of the dishonored several times. 1 was the best by far, 2's writing is disgustingly bad and the gameplay is a bit less responsive but it has some of the best levels in the series later on and 2 characters with their own sets of powers. Death of the outsider is a cash grab, extremely poorly written, 5 missions, 2 in the same level (which is a pretty good level and very large but still), 1 is a reused level from 2 (which was a very mixed level with very cool details but overall really bad gameplay wise, they cut all the cool parts in DOTO), a tutorial level and a completely linear level. Powers in DOTO are just plain bad and are just worse versions of existing powers like slower and harder to use blink, worse possession and worse void gaze.
I'd say, try to get past the first level of 2 (which is stupidly one of the hardest level in the whole game since you don't have powers and still aren't used to the much less permissive guards from 2), after that the game manages to stay quite good with some lows and some peaks. None of it is as bad as the worst levels of the Daud dlc. Also the game expects you to have read the (real life) books, which are not very good.

played it a bit, it's a VERY specific taste, but if you're into this kind of hard scifi atomic rockets autism, i think you'll like it.
whole premise of the game is basically "what if we took elite's ship controls and made them follow proper orbital mechanics".
it's not super hard sci-fi, as rockets have stupid specific impulse and propellant tanks are roughly the same size as gas tanks in fighter planes relatively to ship's size, but they provide multiple minutes of burn time.
it's a pretty interesting kind of handwaving - the good one. you have one or two major exceptions on which your entire world's physics are built, and then you simulate everything else properly in regard to how other things are going to function.
gameplay itself is space lancing and occasional PD work. UI definitely needs some work as the amount of info provided by MFDs and HUD is less than fighter pilots get irl which is bad. you don't even know your target's relative velocity at a glance.
overall, i am really looking forwards to it. right now you can only play pve coop and solo, but the pvp potential is huge.

it's the lightest ship (about 1.5 times larger than a fighter jet), and it both uses fuckton of RCS fuel and momentum wheels, which i guess makes sense since that's supposed to be a cqc "dogfighter" as far as dogfighters in space lancing go. fuel limit is very real and i've ran out of both RCS fuel and main propellant on multiple occasions, and you've got about 5-6 minutes of maximum combat readiness on this ship and about 3 minutes of burn time until you have to return to base and restock.

Finished Dishonored again. Like always I did stuff I've never done before. 11 hours for a near 100% run, I'm surprised by how short the game actually is. It's likely because I've played this game for close to 200 hours over the past... 11 years.
Now here's 2 obscure glitches in Dishonored 1.
During the part before the golden cat mission, you can get a glitched key in the sewers by opening the metal gate from outside and trying to open the pub's door from the sewers before talking to Havelock. This key can be used to open the room where Sokolov is kept. He even has unique dialogues after lady Boyle's party and the lord regent's assassination which are normally impossible to hear.
The fireplace in the lord regent's bedroom can kill unconscious npcs without counting them as a kill for you. It's notable because Dishonored 1 blames you very easily for the death of npcs. Afaik, it's the only fire that does that. This time I used it to non-lethally kill the torturer instead of ignoring him. I spared Burrows instead of choking him and throwing him into the fire which is what I normally do.
