Huanglong was KINO before flying
I remember going through there over the first months of the game, a little each day and looking for puzzles or loot and setting up lootmappers.
And even after I was committed to 100% I still had to comb through an hour long guide video per region to see what I missed.

Compare that to Rinascita which was beautiful but the exploration was like a day of guided effort. I wasn't exploring so much as I was being given GPS directions to each chest/puzzle. Its not the same.

You shouldn't have flight until you've unlocked 80% of an area, after which you can use flight to make the rest easier or go to flying-only zones of the map. One of the reasons I fell in love with the game originally was the exploration and seeing all the amazing sights as I went around the map.
The checklist shit really killed all that. I can still remember every nook and cranny of Jinzhou over a year later but I can't remember shit from Black Shores of Rinascita because of how awful they made the exploration and map design over time.

This. Flying is objectively good. If you don't like flying, then you can easily choose not to fly at all in Huanglong, Black Shores and Rinascita. Yes, Rinascita as well. Rinascita has tons of wingdrakes all over the place to facilitate vertical traversal without needing to ever fly (as well as canoes to get between islands and even those blue cat paws to run around faster on land).
I can think of maybe just a handful of places where you NEED flight to actually be able to get to a chest or a challenge or whatever throughout all of Rinascita.
Otherwise, you don't have to fly. But of course, the sanctimonous anti-flyingfags don't actually practice what they preach and still fly anyway, because they know deep down inside it's more fun to fly.

There's a reason every MMO that adds flight later takes it away and hands it out as a reward for doing most of the content. Flight is fun but it ruins game design. Remember those areas in Jinzhou where you'd run into enemies tougher than you can handle? Fly over them. Remember the hedge maze thing in Rinascita? lmao, fly over it. Remember how awesome it was finally being able to climb the spiraling anti-gravity ruins in the sea of flames? We don't do that here, we fly.
It feels damn good to fly in Jinzhou whenever I go there but I would not give up my 1.x experiences to have flight from day one. Totally ruins it. Even the areas built around flight like Carty's castle in the sky don't feel special at all because flight is just part of all content now.

4* are not the answer. You still need to roll for them, you still need s5/6 to make them function. You really fucking thing any dev is going to hand you a easy to get 4* that does everything a limited 5* does? Rover is the best your going to get and generally decently generous for a MC character they continue to upgrade and give new elements to.
Meanwhile you want to beg for a 4* that needs more rolls than a base 5* to be useful, has no gaurenteed pity when rolling for cause they share the banner with other 4*, needs multiple dupes to be useful because we all know they will lock the erosion/frazzle/bane applications to higher sequences, and still needs all the same amount of resources to upgrade to max as the limited 5* that works better out of the box and does what you need at S0.

They aren't really removing flight, just making it unusable in the new regions going forward as they want to do new ways of traversal to match new areas design philosophy. one part of the 2.7 story i really hope gets explained is, didnt phrolova merge with her sonoro sphere? meaning that if she left all of her village and family would be killed? well she left it to do the dark tide moment and none of that was mentioned even during her final cutscene with cristoforo

isnt that the whole point of why 2.5 was so hard hitting? the fact that she was prisoned in purgatory that she created for the people she cared for due to her being merged with the prison itself and thus she couldnt leave because it would destroy the sphere

i mean i would be fucking insanely mad and angry at cristoforo and everyone if the reason i left didnt work she didnt give two flying fucks about the situation?

Just here to agree with the other anon. Besides SK, only Zhezhi has any value as a meta pull. Maybe Changli if you plan on playing quickswap monofusion, but she's not worth if you're not quickswapping. Basic 1-2-3 monofusion is actually one of the worst full premium teams in the game.

I'm not super sure, and outside of them confronting Rover and being like "We're the memory of the dark tide." (Alluding to them just being puppets or the imagination of Cristoforo) And were far weaker than normal. Also accounting for the fact that Scar didn't have his normal heterochromia. It might be that they're just illusions or something Christoforo used to fight with to pull off what he was trying to do in Rover's mindscape and real Phrolova is still trapped and tied to the Sonoro.
Or y'know. The other possibility is that just because she fully merged with the Sonoro didn't really effect her ability to carry it around entwined in her frequency and just put back into her body which can't die and has no physical weaknesses really. She was already basically doing that in her 2.5 quest before they got the Threnodian gem, so who knows what that enabled them to do.
