You need a way to do something after eating 2 handtraps. For OCG, you can just make moon even if you don't draw parallelism or theorealize or engraver/track but you will need to hard draw those cards in the TCG to keep going

The issue is that if he doesn't pressure your opponent enough to kill them then he effectively does nothing on board. He's good in more control focused branded because you actually have the expectation of playing an advantage based back and forth game but in combo branded you're just trying to make sure your opponent plays the least amount possible.
Branded in particular has a pretty spotty grind game as well, especially against really aggressive decks like Tear, Kash, Snakes, any of the JUSH strategies etc etc. So you have to adapt to floodgate/build a board non-sense rather than trying to outadvantage your opponent.

Yugi boomer here. I'm playing master duel after 20 years no yoogi. First turn kills aren't even annoying but 10 minute turns seeing the same monsters being summoned non stop is killing me.

Blue eyes decks seem ok for me since they are quick to combo although it's kind of sad to be able to throw out 3 blue eyes with 1 card.

I've got a yugi craving so my only choice to have any fun has been stun type decks. You can't even enjoy a single turn even when you're first with a low powered meme deck.
Canned openings and combos are gay. At best now you can set off an ash if you know how best to sequence break your opponent. Where are the actual tactics.
As much as I love opening packs I don't think I could go back to the tcg when master duel resolves all these crazy card effect chains automatically.

The latest Selection Pack is full of staple cards. The nice thing about Selection Packs is that all the cards you get from them are from the pack, compared to just half like Secret Packs.
You can buy 3 copies of one of the stronger Structure Decks in the shop for just 1500 gems, and just add some of the staples from the pack into a deck made with those.
There are a lot of gems you can get in each of the Solo Mode gate stages. You have to beat that level with your own deck instead of with the loaner for that level.

Konami tends to make brick cards like Albaz and Blue-Eyes great by making stronger spells and monsters using them as a resource for a core mechanic (Synchros and Fusions), which tends to help them feel a lot stronger than cards like Medius, Visas, and Diabellstar, cause ultimately, those were made in the service of other decks instead of being this amazing tool able to use normal monster and fusion support unlike any other archetype.

This actually happened to me today. I was playing GOAT format with my Blue-Eyes Chaos deck, and true to the brick-eyes way, I had both copies of the dragon in my opening hand. It was whatever. I'll just use them as discard fodder and let my chaos monsters do the heavy lifting. The duel goes on, and yes, I used those bricks as fodder for my other cards. So both of my Blue-Eyes were now in grave. It was my final turn. My opponent was low on LP with a Kycoo on field. I ritual summoned Paladin Of White Dragon, and if I just attacked with it, I might have won the game. But no, my dumbass forgot that all my Blue-Eyes were in grave. I had Metamorphosis in hand, so in my head, I was going to special summon Blue-Eyes with Paladin, then summon Gatling Dragon, pop the Kycoo, and swing for game. I use Paladin's effect......only for it to whiff since I had no Blue-Eyes in deck. I had to pass turn in absolute shame as my opponent finished me off. This blunder is going to live rent free in my head for a good long while.

They basically have Albaz’s discarding flaw but barely any of the benefits and far less flexibility.
It really doesn’t help that you’re discarding spells/traps instead of monsters in the first place, as monsters provide more potential and flexibility, and only toy box offered that kind of monster-is-spell mechanic that is synchro-friendly.
