I figured it out. All the people whining about nothing to do falsely attribute it to "no combat event" because its a low hanging fruit people can't really argue with since there really hasn't been one in multiple patches.

But the real absence of content is as a result of the nightmare nests. Now to farm the newest set you just do 4 (or less) quick tacet fields in a static location and that's your farm for the day it takes like 2 minutes per nest at most.
Back before these we had to go around the world and make routes to farm new echo sets. I still remember how many times I pre-farmed the wind set before carty/cia came out and that was like a 30 minute farming route per day.

I hope 3.0 has all new farmable echo sets and not just more fucking nightmare sets you farm in the nests.

I'm sitting on 100+ cubes. No reason to use them. Why farm echos or even tacet fields. It's 99% the wrong main stat and then you need to level 40+ echos on average to get double crit. Fuck you if you want more than that, fuck you if you want high rolls.

That's one take, but I don't think so.
Just with the way content cycles and development teams work, and which specific parts of the game became lacking at what times. I think that aside from the story/cinematic team and a handful of boss designers, most of their key personnel are heavily invested in working 3.X stuff for the past several versions. I don't feel the "greedy and stupid" vibes because the stuff they are pushing out is for the most part quite good still, and doesn't just feel like phoned in slop you get in a modern HSR patch.

The combat content in mid 2.X was not particularly well received anyways (with the exception of banners never fall) so it doesn't surprise me if they want to go back to the drawing board and put a more dedicated effort into 3.X. Or maybe they just had a skeleton crew / "b team" working on the later 2.X stuff.

Either way 3.0 will tell me if I'm high on copium or if I was on the right impression.

As a JP dub player since day 1, I've been rewatching the 2.7 story in EN dub and I'm noticing the english dub seems to noticeably more effort put into it (like little things). For example, when Galbrena fights Schwarzloch, as she's about to shoot him into Cetus's maw, in the EN dub he audibly yells (despite there not being any dialogue for him here) as he swings his staff at her head:

It just feels lifeless by comparison. It's like the EN actors are going above and beyond to be more emotive / expressive I guess. Also another thing, is that I noticed the EN actors have way more personality, characters like Cristoforo or Fenrico in EN vs JP is night and day, their JP actors sound extremely generic and bland. The different accents certainly help. Honestly when I got to the walk scene at the end (before you encounter Scar / Phrolova) I couldn't tell which voices were who in JP (despite how long I've played in JP), but in EN I could immediately recognize all of them. Despite not being a native jap speaker this doesn't normally happen for me.

I dunno I think the JP dub in this game is kinda generic and bland compared to EN at least, and actors don't seem to be trying as hard as the EN side to give. I think I might switch to EN desu.

Where will not-japan city be located on the map? Also why can't I swim from Huanlong to Rinascita and get cockblocked by loading screen and forceful teleportation back? At least they removed invisible wall between Rinascita and Septimont so I can swim there.

We need more depth and turns in the story. We need crazy shit to happen. Shorekeeper could get corrupted and turn into an AI villian. Some characters could get killed. Something interesting and new. The best story Wuwa had so far was Phrolova’s and it made everyone talk about the story and care about it for a long while. Wuwa has so many cool characters and such a good setting, but because of the Disney-fication of the game everything needs to be bright and happy and no blood and no heavy topics like prostitution or slavery or cannibalism or anything. Every villian is secretly a good guy. People loved Game of Thrones exactly because of the insane wtf moments in the story like the red wedding. I am not saying turn this game into a horror, but can we please spend more than 5 minutes with certain characters and explore an actual arc with them? Give them some depths besides showing off their boobs? They are my wife’s and i want to know more about them and explore more with them not throw them away like whores every new patch.

Thats actually wrong, while the commanders in PGR are indeed supposed to just give orders and stay out of the fight because they are normal humans and will lose to even the most basic of robots, this not the case for the MC, the MC is the exception as being the sole commandant in the army that fights on the frontlines together with his squad, this is the case even at the start of the game where he just graduated the military school as the top student. Up to around chapter 13 you mostly use your squad, after that you use a trial unit that is the relevant character at the moment of the story (basically same as wuwa). Some fights are actually difficult for new players however after a certain point in the story they give you infinite lives (if your hp drops to 0 it just fills back to 100%).

Yes the fight sequences are kino, boss fights at a story climax with a god tier OST, sometimes even with a bunch of unique mechanics, for example there is a boss that steals your teammates if you get hit by a grab.
Recently there are also boss fights where you fight other playable characters, it straight up looks like PvP, its absolute kino.
There is a filter however, story is a slog until around chapter 8, if your bar is high maybe a few more (launch content same as wuwa lmao)
