My experience is from playing tier 2 decks so yeah, I think you should play the dirtiest of meta decks. And most weekend tournaments have at least 12 meta decks with some 4 tier 2 keks who always go 0-2 (myself included).
Events don't seem to affect it. I think the most diverse tourneys were the first few ones after release. They disable the weekend tourney on the first week of each new set and by the 2nd week the meta is already figured out so you get the 12 metakek scenario described above.

My second ever weekend tourney win! My first one was all the way back during the first set, so that was a while ago.

Newfag from yesterday. Tested all the decks in the tutos, I'm liking mode abysscraft, ward haven and artifact portal so far. But from what I see, all those decks are heavily reliant on multiples leggos so I'm kinda lost on what to do. After opening all my packs (~25), I got this but it's really telling me to play sword.
Also I see that I can get 2 decks for free. With what I got, my old ungabunga spirit is telling me to get the 2 sword decks for 2 free Alberts. Is my boy Albert or storm sword still viable in World beyond? I'm sure that focusing on playing face sword will greatly help me in my newbie grind but I kinda want to play something else like taking both abyss decks or haven/portal+ mode abyss. Am I retarded for thinking that way when I have 0 legendary to go with it in the first place?

I really don't quite get this game's flow yet.
Playing conservatively seems like a really bad idea and it seems to just be about do big combo, and spam as much shit as possible.
I made a Havencraft Ward spam deck and that seems to roadblock most opponents I've fought (which is low ranking players). Doesn't really seem like I'm countering or anticipating plays, instead just, hope my stockpile of bullshit is bigger than theirs.

yes the game has no depth this is the Cod of card games, the mk of card games, the super mario of platformers.
Every match you're just praying you draw better cards than the enemy and trying to wipe their board while also leaving the most obnoxious cards possible on your board.

It's not on demand, requires a sevo and an enemy with 1 or 2 attack at least on the field if you want the extra 4 heal/damage, and if you want the damage boost you also need at least 6 shadows saved up.
You can say it's OP but it's not really on demand.

so let me get this straight
I have to wait 17 turns for a window to finally play my big pp storm dragon to hit face for 9 or 11 with evo or 12 with sevo
but you get to heal for 10 for 2 PP and remove the snake for maybe 2 PP too
so i spend 10 PP to do damage, you spend 4 PP to undo it, and I get to eat 5 burn damage
very fair

Just do the BP wins with an alt in the lobby. have the alt concede right after mulligan since it counts. You can get 50 wins in like 15 minutes.

what I meant is the chance to drop a 10 PP dragon and send it to face is slim since you have to deal with the board most of the times, and even a little ward blocks it unless you have been collecting galmieux spells
big dragon is 10 PP because I don't think 8PP do nothing is good

I guess puppet has the same problem, but at least they can deal with wards and orchis is waaay more flexible than 10PP beatstick
