When would be a good time/condition to TP from toplane to botlane (or any non-top place)? What I do after shoving the wave and recalling, is checking what happens when I see the enemy toplaner in lane and the state of the waves: if they are slowpushing, I'll just walk back in lane. If they are going to shove and crash, I'll TP so I can catch the wave.
Outside this, taking TP is only useful for splitpushing to me. Or if you really need to be quick to move in a certain place, but that's more about the flow of the game in-game.

I played this game on one of my botted smurf accounts and it turned out that my team had 5 human players and the enemy team was legit riot bots.

I'm not defending Anivia, I'm just saying that playing around misplaying teammates is important in itself. Anivia unfortunately did not pressure the opponent enough, you still had the opportunity to see this and plan for the opponent's roam. This means conceding the weaker opposing top a freeze in the short term, but it also means you come back with more HP and items. You're exchanging one lead for another.

What's the alternative? You either try to 1v1 a full HP opponent while the opposing mid is missing, which is what happened, or you wait back at a safer location and watch your full HP opponent gain levels in the safety of his tower while you do nothing. Neither outcome is desirable. You can't push in a wave that has a full HP champ there tanking it. Trading a level 8 champ for a level 6 champ is not worth it. Keep in mind that you suffer an EXP penalty for the level 6 kill while your opponents get an EXP bonus for killing someone above them in level. Being high level and solo is why top is such an attractive target in the first place.

This is what sucks about playing top. Even when you win, all that happens is you become a giant EXP pinata that the entire enemy team wants to kill. This means people come to your lane and fuck up your farm even if they don't manage to kill you. It's not like you can just go to the jungle when the enemy team is camping your creeps either because the jungle was deemed by Riot to be exclusive property of the jungler role and you are griefing your team's resource gain by killing your camps without a pet. You have literally nothing to do once you get ahead and people start camping you.

Koi and Fly are like opposite teams but thats why I don't Koi can win in a bo3. Koi will throw the game at mid game objectives and Fly will always just farm the early game, trade everything, focus on scaling objectives and just win the mid game.
