Tails is a great character for many reasons. He's simple in a good way and can be used in a great variety of settings. He also represents a harmony between nature and technology which is pretty neat. He also has his own set of villains which could be developed further as well. His Mecha are also pretty cool too. Ideally he should get a sidekick for himself. His design is also excellent. We can still create new stories with him having a more pronounced role

Alright, I'm gonna say it: Shadow is literally saving this franchise from turning into complete dogshit.

You've got the classicfags who want everything to be Green Hill and "muh Genesis" 24/7, and then you've got the Archiefags who think their OC-infested fanfiction continuity should've been kept going forever. Both of these groups would turn Sonic into absolute garbage if they got their way.

But guess what? Shadow keeps showing up and making bank. The movies are actually bringing in normalfags and keeping the franchise alive, and Shadow's the centerpiece of that. Sega can't just retreat into safe, sterile Classic pandering because Shadow's out here reminding everyone that people actually LIKE the Adventure-era characters and stories.

The IDW writers literally admitted they're hacks who can't write him properly, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still more popular than their entire comic run. He's the only thing preventing this franchise from becoming a total Classic circlejerk or some Archie reboot where we pretend Sally and the Freedom Fighters matter.

So yeah, maybe actually appreciate that Shadow's keeping both the purist camps from completely taking over. Without him, we'd be drowning in nothing but Green Hill remakes and people crying about how Archie did it better.
