Basically but "overdesigned" stuff can work with other designs too as far as I'm concerned. If the goal is to make a mega look cool, it can work when done properly. I consider say, TyrantKabuterimon overdesigned too but also really like him and he isn't a machine. But when you're just trying to make a quirky little guy like Gekkomon and stack on all these elaborate features and bright colors, it just comes out looking like you were trying to make something to catch the eyes of toddlers rather than accentuate an intended design philosophy. His later stages could be better but I really don't like the rookie at all.

Jeez Sharkmon fight really forced me to evolve 3 of my mons to perfect. They were the ones I intend to forever keep as Perfect though so maybe this was a nice debut for them (normal and black WereGarurumon, and blue MetalGreymon).

That's probably better than abusing the fortifying aura on my Kabuterimon... Although even then I'm unsure that would have won the fight, since you need to destroy the Taunting Divermon with overwhelming power and boosting with aura takes too long

Hard is ok, it will be hard if you don't know what you are doing but it's simple if you understand all the game systems and know what you are doing.

Mega and Mega+ are impossible on a fresh save even if you mod unlock it, Mega enemies have 9000ish atk stats (the max stat is 9999) while Mega+ enemies have 9999 atk stats and even more HP. All enemies are also lvl80+ so they do even more damage/take even less from you. You won't even be able to beat the first enemy, probably won't even get a turn against it.

Regen activates by itself just by standing still even from transition events and stuff so that might not be 100% possible. You can self limit attachment skills and equips for more difficulty if you want, nothings going to stop you

They should have made a Perfect mode that was planned for an average NG+, assuming your endgame mons were in the 3000~ range of stats, with starting enemies being in the 2000~ range and gradually ramp up until the endgame is like 7000 or so.

Does anybody else miss the World 1 / Adventure era in which Perfects were very special and the highest stage?

Reminds me of early Pokémon in which legendaries (and pseudos like Arcanine and Dragonite) were simpler stuff but felt important.
Now later legendaries and Megas are all about world changing powers that absolutely eclipse everybody else while I'm here holding my DW1 lore of blue MetalGreymon being the norm, most Greymons seeking power implant themselves cybernetics that aren't fully compatible with their bodies and they evolve at the cost of rotting and losing their orange tone, except for exceptionally powerful Greymons like the one Taichi had.
All that feels kind of irrelevant when not even Wargreymon matters anymore

Recommend me a Digimon anime to watch. For background I started with Adventure 01 way back in the day and watched it all, also saw all of 02, and saw all of Tamers. Saw a LITTLE bit of Frontier but was quickly off-put since they didn't have actual Digimon partners. I've played DW1, DW3, CS/HM, and TS. Out of the animes I've seen I liked Tamers the most (the biomerge shit at the end was fucking kino) and my favorite game is DW3 (which I still replay regularly). Which newer Digimon anime would I enjoy the most?

Digimon are the mascots of the franchise, they don't want kids to just think "Digimon are creatures you kill".
