I get that the whole thing is sort of supposed to be a metaphor for "life is about the journey, not the destination", but the metaphor doesn't really land if the in-game time amounts to a couple days.
This actually reminds me of that one moment in the latest Final Destination movie, where the black mortician guy had a speech in the vein of "I'm done hiding, I'm gonna go enjoy life to the fullest while I still have some left." I see the metaphor here as well, but it sounds like absolute retardation in-universe, since Final Destination is a movie where you live for about a couple days at best before you die screaming and in horrible pain.
It would maybe work if the game explicitly took at least a couple weeks, maybe with timeskips or something, but the way it is this would read more like "enjoy the crumbs from God's table, worm, because that's all you'll ever get."

I don't know if you're going to see this, but I might as well leave a reply for someone who remembered that I exist.
The theory itself is dead to me, there just hasn't been enough new evidence to warrant something of that caliber happening in the story. I can't imagine it not coming out of left field for me if it is intended, never mind the rest of the playerbase.
With that said, the new chapters have fueled almost every other aspect of my original speculation. I still think the Earth could be used as a metaphor for Kris like how the broken conch and fallen star are for whoever you think they are, and the existence of Winglade (the fountain pen that talks about revolution...) could point to a sapient Earth with some late-game dark fuckery.
Kris being the one to seal the dark fountains is still suspicious to me, especially when you have Susie pointing out that the Knight doesn't stop you from sealing them and the evidence that Kris wasn't supposed to have the soul. My current guess is that Kris is simply the only one who can contain the soul and harness its power for the sake of the forces that control them (maybe to purify Dess). (But Kris turning into a titan/the next knight/the prophecy?? are more fun to think about.)
Dess being the source of all dark worlds is also an interesting one I've seen. Not one I personally believe in, but it's neat that the idea of someone holding up the dark worlds lives on in some form.

Honestly, I think that kind of thing is more about Toby's personal beliefs than his experience. His main strength is writing characters, and it seems like he cares a lot about them on a personal level too. Call me a sap, but I like a good happy ending. I actually think that at some point by the end of Weird Route you'll finally get to inhabit your Vessel and have the choice of either migrating to it and starting a full-fledged Genocide or keeping Kris just because he's already sufficiently broken. But also the second option may result in Kris straight-up committing suicide in an act of defiance (or whatever PG option we can get).

i think the vessel comes into play for two reasons:
in the twisted route, kris might just wrest himself from our control and attempt some discrete - what the kids call - "self-deletion" in disgust.
we will then find our true form someplace everyone has forgotten.

This is also an interesting possibility. We know that Susie is pretty resistant to the Soul, and generally in order to possess someone we need to break them first, like with Noelle. But on the Weird Route, her hope may actually be crushed to the point that the Soul presents some danger to her. If Kris offs himself, the game may end in a battle between the Soul and Susie, with her getting possessed if she loses. That'd be one grim ending.

Most likely, there will be no ending proper to the Weird Route at all. The closest we will get in this scenario is the Soul possessing Susie's broken body and crawling to the final place of catharsis, only to either expire at the very last second, to find absolutely nothing there or to get smitten by the powers that be for trying to cheat the Prophecy. At that point even Gaster himself may get fed up with our murderhobo antics and pull the classic "rocks fall, everyone dies."

on a replay, i think one of the issues with SCC is that they're all introduced at once. so they all blur together. with the mikes, each one has his own solo battle and attack styles so he can shine individually, before a 3 on 3 fight which showcases their group dynamic.

Out of the main trio, Susie is the one who feels the most like a satellite character, but not in bad way. On her own, she was a bully with no purpose, but once the adventure starts, she gets a vector to follow - from Lancer by dicking around together, from Kris by being the muscle to his tactician, from Ralsei by filling the role of the prophesized hero, and from all of them by the means of friendship. She grows to become stronger as a result, and some even theorize that she may become the only real hero and not really need the others, but she would not have the shining hope she does if she had no one beside her. I'd imagine that's how the Susie fight would end too - she'd look inside herself for that one final push and realize that there's nothing left.
Honestly, I love Susie. Protect Susie by any means necessary.
