The Empire is disgustingly underpowered and it should have better frontline options. Compare it to Kislev or Cathay and you'll see how bad things are.

Basically supposed to be like, I dunno, a reflection of Sigmar? A shard? Just a dude that's on his same wavelength? Anyway, he's a lot like Sigmar. Used to be a small Drakwald village blacksmith until he took down a beastmen herd with his hammers, and Luthor Huss (named warrior priest character, he's not in TW) sees this and decides he's Sigmar reborn. Brings him to Altdorf, Karl has a bit of a crisis deciding if a potential reincarnation of Sigmar means Sigmar is dead, if him returning is a good thing, if the population are now going to demand he abdicates in his favor, or he'll just generally lose influence and authority because everyone would rather listen to Valten, or if it'll even become a potential civil war, etc.

In the end he decides to give him Ghal Maraz and make him a sort of big champion of the Empire, which works out pretty well because it keeps things unified and nobody complains. Then the dwarfs and elves also decide to give him gifts, the dwarfs craft him a suit of armor and the elves give him a horse, both obviously among the best they have.

Then Valten gets assassinated by Snikch while he sleeps. Karl, Volkmar and Huss just kinda look at each other like "Holy shit what do we tell everyone now" and they settle on telling people that he really was Sigmar and had come down to help the Empire in it's time of need but after the big battle his planet needed him so he went back. Karl picks up Ghal Maraz again and everything returns to status quo.

In ET he just gets killed by Archaon I think. He does kick ass until then though, his duel with Wulfirk was pretty funny, Wulfrik thanks him for it.

I find balancing around MP weird. Its such a small playerbase. Imagine CA adjusting units because they were "too strong/weak in Mirrors of Madness". Everyone would find such balancing immeasurably stupid. Same goes for MP, the gamemode that is played by like 5 players globally.

So far the ai seems way more passive than in ie. I traded a few settlements to the nearby ogres to keep the surrounding demons occupied while I blitzed kairos and secured the great gates. I had forgotten how bad kislev’s early economy is. I’ve been deep in the red for 20 turns with one and a half stacks of spiders.

Am I crazy or does ostankya only give the elemental winds to hag witches but not herself?

No but thats the thing, they are somewhat similar, but the difference with Bretonnia is they have SOVL.
Bretonnians feel like the opposite of the Mary Sue. To use a weeb reference, they feel like the Mumen Rider of the setting. They are technologically and militarily outclassed by basically all of their enemies, their peasants are ACTUALLY really fucking bad and need good heroes and reliques to hold their ground, they have the least 'special' fantasy units out of any faction, with really only the Pegasus and Hippogryph knights mixing up their rosters filling that role.
They feel like a genuine medieval kingdom from the 1300s, surviving in a world with horrors far, far beyond their pay grade, refusing to let it hold them back, and fighting as hard as they can for what is right anyway.
Its badass. The underdog hero, the come-from-behind success story, it makes you feel good.
Cathay doesn't feel like that. They ape it at first with their early game, but their roster is so overloaded with all the good shit they could think of, and they're so vast and powerful, so vibrantly colored next to the mostly dull palettes of the warhammer world, they have dragons but they're different dragons than all the western ones because reasons, and they're missing the cool stuff from the old lore that would make them more complex like their vampire sects and the Monkey King.
They just feel like a cheap attempt to impress the Chinese, and thats because thats literally what they are lol.

Grail Knights and Guardians are much better now. Early you're stuck with peasants (aim for Battle Pilgrims though because they have higher Leadership than clanrats unlike Men at Arms. Knights Errant still suck and KotR still struggle with armor, and Questing Knights are still your early/mid Armor-Piercing Homing Missiles. Not much has changed except your endgame units are a lot stronger.

Not really. Given Fimir/Beastmen culture and likely harsh treatment of said women, squalid living conditions, miscarriages, infant mortality, child mortality, the women would die incredibly quickly, and the number of children would be incredibly few.

Combine that with a high mortality rate among the beastmen themselves and I'd be shocked if their numbers are even staying stable. They can't capture a walled town containing thousands every year, the humans would have run out towns years ago.

Then there is obvious threat this would be to non-beastmen fertility numbers and the inevitable reaction this would cause an inevitable response (ie a massive concerted effort to hunt out the beastmen, with mass burning of forests if nothing else)

Unless your contention is that beastmen are themselves an incredibly minor threat with very low numbers, hence not requiring many women, this makes absolutely no sense
