The only reason to ever equip the event armor is to spam small monsters quests to farm the tickets needed to craft all the different shit in 30 minutes

i'm too lazy to do the algebra on your stats right now but for comparison going from 400 def to 500 def you only gain 3% damage reduction and i'm pretty sure thats more def than def boost 7 grants

you don't have 50% affinity though so crit boost 3 is less effective than attack boost 3 and crit element is kinda shit for melee weapons even when you have higher affinity so you'd probably get more from going +AB2 and "wasting" a slot

i can't actually tell what weapon you're using because you didn't slot any of the "tax" skills that usually give conditional bonuses that are better than straight up raw stacking (or crot boost if you had enough affinity)

But it was both more fun and more skilled in GU? I’ve played both iterations and 4U CB is boring as fuck, you just ignore every monster with GP > AED spam. It is REALLY unengaging and boring. Playing CB in GU I need to constantly adapt my strategy to each monster and learn how they attack and move. Sometimes I want Valor against monsters like Gammoth, or Adept against Tigrex. But even with Striker you have to actually play the game. I invite every 4U CBab to learn real weapons instead, such as SnS, 2nd gen LS, Hammer, Horn or Gunlance. Or GU CB, because it’s honestly very fun and rewarding.

It's true that you go from 16.67% of damage to 13.8%, but you need to compare it to the damage you're already taking, not the true value. If 16.67% of an incoming attack reduces your health by 60%, then 13.8% of an incoming attack will do 49%, enough to turn a two-shot into a 3-shot. Conversely, it makes one-shots of up to 20% over your health into two-shots. I'm using DB. Also +7 attack isn't going to do that much when I am most likely going to maintain a minimum average of at least +35 from multiple boosts. Maybe putting on crit eye 3 would work better but I am already stacked with element buffs. I chose crit boost over crit eye because diminishing returns from affinity and critting every 3-4 hits on something like DB is good enough to proc crit element, as well as boost general damage with what I already have.

I just think the idea of a hardcore lobby that actually pushes people to get better is interesting. A sort of meta game on top of already playing monhun. Maybe even randomly throw in an extra rule for a day to spice things up like no eating before a quest or something. Think of all impact damage having 2 free bonus statuses
- Exhaust / Stamina Drain when hitting any part of the body. When it procs, it mini-staggers it and drains a chunk of a monsters stamina. I know this is virgin central where everyone pretends they kill 9 Star Gore in five minutes true solo but being in red health is not a good idea in 2025 Monster Hunter.
You also have to compare it to your other offensive options, I'd much rather have Latent Power + AT Rey Dau set bonus and then just drink Immunizers + Recovery speed to just totally ignore Shadowbringer's main drawback instead of playing into it with Resentment.
