Ignoring that dark ages was bad, the joke that came to mind was that I had no idea that the indiana jones game wasn't bad because that would have required a single human being to have talked about it after it came out. The first time I saw someone mention it was when the dlc was announced.

And I'm gonna be real here, and I know this is a me thing so whatever, while I played plenty of tie-in games and games that are part of some greater ip over the years (shout out to peter jackson's king kong for the ps2), games based on a movie ip that are also some AAA mega thing feels... fucking weird and somewhat offend me. From insomniac making spider-man to that 007 game from the hitman devs... great developers are spending years and millions making what used to be a fun thing you'd rent for a weekend.

Just a guy who enjoys Fallout. It's the franchise that got me into the apocalypse setting, so much potential. It even inspired me to make my own apocalypse story, a Fallout story that i decided to rework into it's own IP. I even posted about it here on /fog/ to get feedback on what the Fallout fanbase would want to see form it as i as just one fan can't speak for what everyone wants.
I have put the project on a hiatus due to behind the scenes issues.

I went through the quest in the creation kit and couldn't see anything that would point it to adding them to raiders, only to vendors. I decompiled the script fragment and went through it, and it all lines up with what's shown in the creation kit. I can only assume it's a bug. the next best thing I can think of would be to just add the NPCs use ammo flag to the launchers so they don't spam them non-stop.

So what's the point of fishing in Fallout 76? I thought I'd give it a try just for it, read a little bit about it and I don't quite understand. There are a couple of challenges, but basically all you do is collect all the fish you've caught and exchange it for legendary items which looks fucking boring as hell. Am I missing something?

I looked everywhere, I even looked on reddit to see if anyone else had problems with that quest and it was mostly that 'chinese pipe rifle bug' or 'missing texture bug' that were associated with the quest but there were still a couple that were relevant to my problem yet it just boiled down to 'take explosive resistance armor for immunity' which I don't want, I want explosives to be a constant threat and chinese/pipe grenade launchers break the balance because:

>these grenades one-shot me no matter what
>they can fire a grenade about twice per second
>the grenades have no visual warning like thrown grenades/mines do
>infinite ammo
>near instant projectile travel time so I can't react and dodge like I can with missiles

I'm not sure if just making them run out of ammo would solve the problem, they either blow themselves up (funny only at first then boring) or they blow me up with no warning, and potentially wipe a lot of progress (survival mode) so I think the best solution is they just never get their hands on the thing

NPCs are good, of course, but quests are still basically the same crap, except now they at least have some kind of story behind them.
NMS has changed way more than Fallout 76 with updates. FO76 is still built around events and daily quests. NMS is a proper sandbox now, a good example of a game that's “deep as a puddle and wide as the ocean”
