It really majorly bothers me that people keep saying "isakusan isakusan" when it's literally always been a writing team and they haven't hid it.
Even those big "story by isakusan credits" are not going to be sole decisions by one person, that's not how games are made.
While he was around, objectively speaking he wrote the least amount of "stuff" in the game. He wrote 3 volumes that definitely were very long and important, but then there were 3 others he didn't write, there's all events, there's all small stories and momotalks and regardless everything is written with input from everyone else
It was never claimed by anyone at nexon that writing was ever just him. Actually while he was there he openly talked about how initial plans changed (such as Mika going from not very notable to a major part and pulled out of volume F into volume 3)
tl;dr What bugs me about the narrative is people downplaying the importance of the entire team and makes them sound incompetent/incapable of writing--everything was just this one guy (and everything that one guy did was bad! even though everyone loved volumes 1, 3, and F--and most people like v1c3, like a lot)

I think Suou's "character" was just straight up "bad". I don't care about the loose ends or whatever, I just think that what was given sucks. For me it's not the inconsistency, it's just that what is there sucks.

When she does the heel turn on the helicopter, it really feels like something cool is going to happen, but then she's just a puppet/someone mad about Abydos, and it feels like an attempt at theme injection (something like "the consequences of failing responsibility") in a story that doesn't need that theme. So she just gets discarded. She literally gets offscreened and that's another genuinely bad part of the chapter.

I'm like actually worried the most about "redeeming" Suou because I think she was handled so badly. If she had just been a Highlander triple agent, fucking with dipshit adults to further the ends of the school that ultimately took her in (actually, not for shitty manipulative reasons) that would've been super cool.
