AB7 used to give +21 atk and 5% crit rate as lv1 jewel. Aside from AB being a weapon skill now it gives maxed 9 + 4% atk which requires you to have 300 atk to reach the 21 of the old one. Crit eye in world gave at early lvls 3% but would eventually go up to 30% at lv7 in wilds each lv gives you 4% so max 20 and a weapon skill as well. Given the nerfes and changes it's hard to really reach the power of drachen in wilds.

The game is very counter focused so get used to it. HH offset melody comes from the horn and isn't always available but even there you have the HH water strike move to hyper armour attacks. All other melee weapons have either an offset, guard or a counter except for DB where you get a perfect dodge. CBs out of shield option are kinda slow and if you stick to axe it's the weapon that feels closest to "classic" MH.

There was a tiny bit of gathering at the start, then the farm did almost everything for you pretty quickly, long before I even got to HR. I'd be real, most of the time I use the parse for dps testing in test room. If anything, it is painfully average.
There are only a few really good regulars that can manage actual 60~80+++ dps in coop back in omega and I am not one of them. Most of them are bowgun mains. Also imo b**f HH is genuinely among the top 1% of all playerbase and his HH mogs others that hard. Other than that most of the lobby defaults around 30~40 range, maybe low 20 on a bad day and high 50 on a good day back in omega week

They slowed the charge on his 360 tailspin. You can now force a bite counter by hitting his tail (threshold is about 450 damage or so) and the bite counter has about 7 seconds of recovery for massive punishes. His flame mouth charge now has massive wind up so any weapon can setup big damage when he returns to neutral for a fucking 15 second knockdown removing his charge state instantly. He lost his fast turn around bite pivot. Ontop of all of this his tracking is horrible with his tail getting stuck on terrain glitching out, he's significantly slower across the board on every attack. They don't design the games the way you think. They're just continuously iterating on the original monster hunter. So monsters get new moves in addition to old moves and new systems get slapped on the old game. These games are effectively designed for people that have played all the older ones and already know what to expect. They include all the new gimmick stuff like focus mode, counters, mounting, etc to make things easier for new players by letting them bypass gittin gud at core gameplay. Modern Narga yes. And I’ve solod some of the hardest quests as well, such as One-Horned Demon King Diablos, Descendants of the King, Land of the Tremors, Gogmazios, etc. I’m far from being a newbie, hence I am so baffled. I loved and hated risen shagaru for being able to fuck with you regardless of the situation. Moving away from monsters trying to face the hunter before attacking and instead can just use a move towards the hunter from their current facing position was honestly a good change. There was one video of a GS player complaining just trying to attack whenever, getting punished for it leading into stun, para and eventually a cart. I think both world and rise have weapon tutorial quests but I can't remember. The player guide ingame and training offer a lot of insight into the weapon but your average normalfag cba to read. Wilds even has short clips of combos. I think it's ultimately the people that are lean immune and as consequence crapcom reduced the forced tutorials to a minimum also for the veterans but this leads obviously to different issues.

I mean I guess? They do throw out moves more quickly but you're also much faster so you can keep up the aggression as well. It's possible to slip in quick hits while monsters are spazzing out. The exception being AOE moves but they're usually pretty quick and again the counters. You can still be pretty damn aggressive. It just requires more out of you.

I think multihits in Wilds are just a bandaid for how strong they made instant blocking. I mostly played lance on the aide in SB but I think you can't instant block fast multihit moves because you animation lock into IB but don't have iframes during it. In Wilds, you can pretty much instant block everything with SNS until you can't when you see Udra's 180 spin or Omega missiles.

It's a multi-layered problem. The average normalfag today reads/learns significantly less when playing, and CAPCOM decided to appeal to them (money) instead of the niche but dedicated MH fanbase. The "tutorial quests" should be in their own group, and the "cinematic" lean that Wilds has means there's less room for those.
In the end, we have the exact problem that World did, where dogshit garbage players will somehow reach G-Rank without even knowing how to not get hit by Rathian's poison spin, the absolute simplest attack, and the "answer" is to spam farm a meta set to get around the fact they can't dodge obvious attacks or remember to pack healing items.

The pack mechanic was at the center of wilds marketing because that's what the game was supposed to be entirely based around. You'd fight big packs of monsters, use clashes/perfect block/offsets as get off me tools, use mounted seikret combat if it got too overwhelming, focus mode would make switching between targets quickly easier. The issue is they just didn't actually go ahead and make the game like that. They chickened out for whatever reason. Maybe difficulty concerns or the reception to rampages in rise who knows but it caused them to just sideline the entire central gimmick of wilds. It's actually hilarious. It's almost like the perfect irony that worlos shitting on rampages ended up undermining their own sequel. Maybe they'll actually do something with that idea in the expansion.
