As someone who plays both games, TLDR

I think this Is the hardest problem for BA to solve, people want new hype students but at the same time players want more content of their old students at some point you can't no longer balance things out because the game becomes so bloated with so many characters that sacrifices will have to be made and some students be relegated to "legacy content" status but I guess that you're right in that before this happens they might want to do at least one alt for everyone.
