to be fair all trekkers resets their attack string on running, its just that Shia has a 20 hit auto and a 600% boost with a yellow potential, and with all the other snow rabbit buffs it gets absurd.
The devs could probably just swap the first attack to be night rabbit attack and it'll nerf the shotgun, but then the players would probably ask for freebies for the nerf. Not sure if JP would even allow it, I remember genshin trying to nerf neuv spin2win and backtracked very fast.

i mean, most of the shotgun damage builds doesnt even build the potential where she's far away from the enemy. Also Minova is amazing for the shotgun, she gives a shit ton of atk if you're close to the enemy within her Astral hex proc, which you should be if you're doing shotgunning the poor boss.

I got this Maid Ninja and figured the starter wind char, being also a vanguard and all, is now useless so I took the other blond girl (knight, I think she's holy).
I also have some loli who summons some doggy to create wind walls. Both of these 4* have 2 dupes, aka one extra passive that does.. something. Probably.

Now the game gave me another 4* wind character from a mission, and I'm not sure. She's not a support like the blonde knight who seems to buff ATK with all her shit, but "versatile" and no buffs.

Yostar didn't come out and make and statement when it was most necessary, the problems snowballed into drama and misinfo along the way, and empty corporate speak is no longer effective in the modern day of informal internet trash talking, that's why the "Naked Dogeza" "Devs Listened" emergency streams are more common on CN and KR spaces these days, quell the mob or be engulfed by it and your product destroyed, Yostar is taking a very Japanese approach for this game and it's not working with anyone not Japanese apparently.
I don't want to doom but even if Yostar silently makes huge fixes to the economy it would have been too late, people would have moved on, or not felt Yostar was sincere in their commitment to fix the game, if it doesn't make headlines it won't work. Those 12k gems they gave out would have resounded much more and felt much better if they came out clarified the situation and promised changes even instead it's just 12k gems of uncertainty.
And there's not shortage of games to keep you entertained these days, which is really baffling to me them being a publisher with years of experience and with many games under their umbrella that they are responding so poorly to this situation, they really don't seem to care that SS bombed hard on CN, you know the country that they should have more expertise with. The situation is very peculiar and a study case for future developers.

-Offered additional things for the extremely overpriced paid pulls (i.e. paid step up banners with actual guarantees and the paid gems counting as more for pity)

They also did shit like free 10 pull for ani, where you can't get a dupe unless it's impossible and every single pull is a guaranteed 5*, but I think global never got there. Because even WITH the band aids it's still... rough.

The actual issue is that Shia's kit is just badly planned out.
Instead of an AA/skill spammer split, her potentials are split between White Rabbit/Night Rabbit. In theory, since her auto and skill summons both, her potentials' massive buffs to one evens out with the low damage of the other. However, since dashing resets the auto string, you can just keep spamming her 1st auto and ignore all Night rabbit attacks, massively boosting her DPS from skipping the weaker Night Rabbit portion.
Other characters don't suffers this problem since their buffs don't favor certain parts of their attack chain, so skipping their attack chains doesn't improve their auto damage to such an absurd degree.

As an example, let's use Fire Emblem's damage calculation as an example. Damage (ignoring any other bonuses like effectiveness and crit) is calculated as Attack-Defense
Suppose you have 15 attack and the enemy has 7 defense, then you'd do 8 damage.
If you had a 40% attack buff then your attack would be 21, so your damage would be 13... which is a 60% increase in damage.
Which is better depends entirely on the damage calculation formula and the above showing attack% as better is not guaranteed and is just used to illustrate the point
