Because most of the plot points they introduced in hajime have been handwaved already. How would you even make Kotone interesting if her problem isn't about her dad, money situation and over working herself. They already introduced too many high stakes situations in her routes so there's no way to proceed other than ignoring it or raising the stakes even higher like making her dad indebted to the yakuza. Forcing her to give up all her money and starting from scratch all over again.

There's just nothing interesting about Kotone as a character that makes you want to root for her. They shot themselves in the foot by hand waving the problems instead of properly tackling them.

I'm thinking about Ume with this. When she talks about the entrance exam, one of the things she says she's bad at is writing, so writing their own lyrics is certainly an asset. The Rolling Riceball is pretty saturated with metaphors and allusions, which could be a result of Ume's monstrous growth, except that she's practicing it when she's absolute dog shit at singing, dancing, and even remembering the words. So she clearly didn't write that.

But the biggest thing on her mind when it was written would have been gratitude for the second chance to attend Hatsuboshi, and the main folk tale the song alludes to is about gratitude, so she must have been consulted. And the quiet section leading up to "love and peace!" sounds heartfelt enough that I'd wager she wrote that part herself.

Strongest Exercise has a rap section that's written as if it was improvised, but I have no idea whether that song canonically even exists.
