You're going to hit the MMR floor and start getting teams that are grossly out of your skill level pretty quickly, the best way I can recommend to learn how to counter survivors is to unironically play both sides. You'll learn how perks work and how to spot plays such as a locker DS or to rip someone who jumps mid chase for head on. its a harsh as fuck learning curve but if youre serious about getting good playing killer, being golden at M1 chase is your best bet. Hatch is a leftover from the game's original state where it was an alternative escape condition. If the number of generators completed was equal to or greater than the number of survivors left (4 gens done for 4 survivors, 3 for 3, etc.) it would spawn closed. You would have to open it with a key and then your team could escape through it. It was shit because you could just bring keys and guarantee easy escapes without ever interacting with the exit gates. They slowly turned it into a pity mechanic for the last survivor to get out if there's still gens to do since it's basically impossible for a lone survivor to ever finish another generator unless they were already doing it when the penultimate survivor died. Without it you would literally never see 3 kill games unless it went to endgame. It's still kind of shit since it rewards killing yourself if you're the second-to-last guy and rewards survivors for hiding like bitches instead of doing objectives in hopes they can get hatch.

but if you need to rescue someone (and the killer is in the general area of the rescue, either on-path or near hook) it's advised to heal first otherwise shit can go south, fast.
also try not to mend in TR. keep tabs on the number of hits in the current frenzy as well by looking for your teammates entering deep wounds. if you're going to be hit #3 or #4, just hard camp a pallet so you can stun them out of power if they swing through. you're not trying to block the hit, you want to intentionally eat the hit so they can't avoid the stun

fast track sounds a lot weaker than it is because it forces you to look objectively at how much it helps
if you did gens for 180 seconds with resillience on while injured, you'd do 196.2 charges of gens (a total of 18% extra of a generator gets finished in that time)
if you use fast track in a game where everyone gets 2 hooks that's 24% of a generator after one skillcheck during a possible clutch moment when you would need it
people compare it in their mind to other gen speed perks like resillience and deja vu, but fail to realize that fast track isn't for the guy doing generators, it's for the guy who is doing all the other stuff, so that he can come in late game with a BNP he held onto and instantly do 11%-28% of the last generator depending on how much the team needs it
just like how hope is good, but only if you were already gonna win anyways, fast track can be good, but only if you were probably going to lose
the only real downside to it is that it's worthless if you gradually use it throughout the match, so basically one guy forced to not do the objective during the game, or has to specifically avoid great skillchecks

Before Oni gets his first injury of the game, delay him as long as possible. He has literally no power and can never enter demon form if he never gets a hit. Drop every pallet. As soon as someone gets injured, stop playing like that because there's no point anymore.
Once Oni enters demon form, if nobody is being chased, just assume he's heading towards you and get yourself to a good looking tile immediately. If there is none, go into a locker. Only come out from that tile/locker when you see someone else is being chased.
If you're talking about 2v8 Oni, there is no counterplay, he has too much control in demon form and is impossible to dodge.

You can improve at predicting survivors who have gone around corners but you cannot escape the fact that survivors who are actively trying to juke the power are impossible to reliably hit, and you're screwed if you miss a M2 because if you miss it at a strong tile you waste even more time there, and if you miss a M2 at a weak tile they get a free hold-W tile chain without using any resources
So you're M2 is out the window, maybe you play around Torments?
That doesn't work either. After the gutting to PH that made him slow himself on putting down the knife and picking it up, you can no longer do what release PH did which was trap the map with Torment trails as you patrol gens. Now that you can't do that, it is VERY uncommon for you to actually Torment people.
Even if you do, Torment is useless because it has 2 uses: 1. a quick hook if you down a survivor next to another survivor and 2. tunneling
The anti-tunneling perks that Torment countered are not anywhere near as meta anymore and if you really wanted to chain downs why the fuck are you playing PH and not Oni or Twins?
Sorry for effortpost but this killer is way, way worse than his reputation would make you think and he'll never get a meaningful buff because streamers keep pretending he's not terrible.

and whether there's 5 players globally or 1 billion, if there is 1 person playing killer for ever 4 survivors, then each survivor will have to play, on average, 0 other games before it is your turn to have them play with you
doesn't matter if you split the numbers or spontaneously double them. what matters is that there's new stuff to experience and it's only fun to experience if you're playing as the killer, so everyone is competing to play against the same 1000 survivors who are actually willing to play a more boring version of the game
