Well she wasn't actually that bad, problem was dirt didn't have cagliostro or sandal so while the deck had a decent curve and could drop her pretty consistently the deck usually got out-valued hard. Whereas now a lila allowed to stay on field is extremely oppressive.

Also last set crest haven was top tier and it has a 2pp random banish spell which is obviously a massive counter to this card.

This game is literally Shadowcurve Top Decks beyond, you just curve out and hope your opponent doesn't curve out and bricking your curve to play around something they may or may not have is going to lose you more often than not. Like your Merman example is just like "Yeah sure let me just materialize these odd hp drops in my hand." No what you do is put all the meta cards in your deck and if they're odd hp then good for you, you are in the winning position of the rock paper scissors matchup. I don't think anyone really gets the implication of basically having three copies of every card in your deck. Like one of the reasons why second is so busted is because you can curve out still despite more than likely having duplicates in your hand. Like Coin Beryl into Beryl is infinitely better than turn 1 pass Beryl into 3 mana Beryl. And for whatever godforsaken reason 2nd gets ANOTHER bonus pp so they can do something like turn 7 coin Cerberus into another Cerberus meanwhile 1st is floating 1 mana after their first Cerberus. And don't even get me started on how a turn 4 evolve Zirconnia is infinitely better than a turn 5 one.

Honestly, yeah. Looking back, spending an evo point on her turn 4 feels really bad because you know she'll just die along with her knights (unless it's Dragon lol). Nothing just sticks long enough to make Zirconia degenerate. Hell, I think Peppy Scout is better than Zirconia because at least she thins your deck. Turn 6 Zirconia with Luminous Lancer is pretty good though, but it's two cards. so consistency is lessened.

I can't play other card games after shadoba. Everything flows so smoothly here. Even roping is only like what, a minute and a half? And that rarely happens.

Meanwhile you play shit like pokemon tcg and you have literally 20 minutes to burn and people just keep playing cards that draw more and discard hand and draw X and discard to draw Y and it just keeps going for ever and ever and ever and you're sitting there for 5 minutes while the opponent just keeps playing cards eternally. How the fuck do people stomach that shit is beyond me. I assume ygo is the same or even worse.
