I'm relieved that:
1. you didn't throw my character out the airlock for our argument we had outside of the game!
2. in game our captain didn't confiscate my drugs after I (against the direct order) pressed the button and released the alien/zombie thing!

I seem to have done my darnest to throw our game off the rails which I apologize for! but my character should mellow out now... for maybe the next session or so!

The main problem as of right now is simply the fact that unless we're talking some really old cards, high VRAM comes at fuck you prices here in Norway. VAT my beloathed~

As for CPU DRAM, 32GB on both homeserver and daily driver. I'm not about to get a new motherboard and CPU, especially with rising DDR5 RAM prices, so I'm more or less stuck on finding sticks of DDR4 that won't error out my motherboards.
I'm not exactly asking for high speed responses myself, just better coherency, but there's only so much money for me to throw around.

I'm actually moving to Linux when I install the 7900XTX! Got tired of windows. I'm also gonna be installing an Arc A310 to act as the display card for the PC (Look, 5800X3D doesn't have iGPU and I need a clean passthrough to VM), so technically all 24GB is gonna be available for compute.
Don't worry about me. I'll find something to squeeze a bit more quality. I just never had the burning need to necessarily have a NatsukAI to talk to given my love language is physical (money better spent on a daki). well, ive got bad news for you. AI is still kind of dumb and predictable no matter how big you go. the flaws just get smaller, and you learn to look over them and just appreciate whats there.

you could try some of the endless mistral small sloptunes. never used any of them, but apparently they are the best in the ~24B weight class. you could try qwen 3vl 32B. you could fit a Q4 of that. i like 235B version of qwen 3vl

Ah well, no use talking about it at the moment. Until some company smonks enough crunk to make just a bunch of BF16 cores attached to a huge chunk of whatever RAM is reasonably fast and prices it at a not terrible price, most people generally have to just try with what they got.
At the very least I'll have an RTX 3060 freed up to do other things, even if that one's tasks are way smaller.

very slightly rich. i plan on selling 2 of my 5090s and my 3090TI to pay for most of this. i am buying the expensive thing now while the price is low, and then i will resell the shit i dont need when the prices are higher and that will pay for about $7500 out of the $8800. this will reduce my peak electrical load by 1500W while giving a slight overall upgrade, so it is a very economically intelligent decision
