I know this is gonna sound very autistic given what worldsperm complain about daily, but a lot of the normies that play the game cannot deal with the 9 star tempered monsters. We might cleave through them while watching top gear on the 2nd monitor but they can't. Giving every monster 9 star versions suddenly will pretty much make it rare as fuck for any non 9 star monster to appear. If they introduce them gradually, the normies don't have as big of a difficulty curve and can adjust to it overtime.

A lot of the chatter around this fight is that Gog is gonna be extremely deadly and one shot if your armor isnt max defense, but from 4U experience max defense is probably not going to matter.

I do expect vast changes but the only threatening thing was Gog when he was angry, where the oil dropping off of him would land and explode, and if the oil lands on you it was basically an ohko no matter what, not even counting the burning debuff which would nullify moxie.

I wanna see what they do to make him a bit more threatening but Gog was entirely too large and slow to be super annoying in 4U.

Anyway, Gog fight got leaked
Unlike the other encounters you have had so far, this is more of an elaborate boss battle that happens over multiple phases. In the first phase, upon surfacing Gogmazios will begin to walk towards your position. You'll see a couple of other NPCs on the platform with you, including your Palico, that are loading some of the cannons. You can aim the cannons by walking to the side and pushing them into place, before firing. Cannons require loading and so the best way to do so is to grab a cannonball from nearby the cannon and load each one into the device.

Eventually it will get close to your position and in range to attack. It has a really long attack animation. At this point, your first checkpoint will be destroyed and Alma will authorize you to "mount" Gogmazios so you'll then be prompted to travel to a hitching post to proceed onto the next phase

The second phase asks you to destroy three oil cores and luckily for you, the first one is right in front of you. That said, the area nearby these cores are volatile, with oil bursts happening once every half-minute or so. If you do get caught up in the blast range, you may find yourself on fire. Once you've broken this first core, you can go after the other two. Along the way there are a few mining crops, so be sure to dig these out for rare and valuable items. Both of these cores need you to climb upwards, one into the creature's maw and the other on top of its head.

Third phase

Eventually you'll hear a prompt from Olivia for reinforcements to join you. During this phase, you will get a prompt that the special Dragonator is ready to fire. Head to the far east on the mini-map to find a ledge leading to the ship. Jump down and pull the lever at the front of the ship to make it thrust out a huge spear into Gogmazios triggering a cutscene that ends the fight

The way AI works in Monstie Huntie is that a monster rolls sequences that will get reset on any type of stagger.

Imagine a monster has 5 different attacks with these patterns

Attack 1 > Attack 1 > attack 4
Attack 2 > Attack 1 > Attack 3
Attack 4 > Attack 5 > Attack 2

It's entirely possible that you will go through the whole game without ever seeing Attack 3 because it can only appear at the end of a sequence, because Wilds is a pathetic baby tard game where you pull 10 different staggers sources out of your ass between every single monster attack and can easily cause 5 staggers in a row without letting the monster roll its next attack. And this is solo without cats or support hunters. It's far far worse in multiplayer where people are lower IQ and suck at recognizing when a new attack happens at all, on top of the even worse stagger fest.

So then you might see "new" attacks in these 9 stars because you can barely wound them, their HP is higher, their thresholds are much higher, you can't mindlessly offset spam them because your HP will get nuked.

the easiest horns to learn for me are horns with offset. Horn offset is broken: the entire start up has iframes, you can hold it for very long and it came out really fast. Hitting the offset also make you hyper armor through multihits.
