Sometimes you just need to disengage and dodge. All of the boss' attacks have a tell so learn them, and when he gathers mobs to himself, you either need to kill at least two of them, or just save your main's ultimate for the invincibility frames

When you say auto, do you mean auto-attack or are you being a retard and using autobattle? If the former, then use WASD to help keep distance while still being in range, if the attack brings you into the puddle then you have a very brief period to dodge out.

Why does Freesia suck so much as main trekker? AA build is so much worse than spin build yet you have to dodge shit all the time in boss fights and dodging cancels her spin so you don't get the full damage output. Am I just building her wrong? I have the damage bonus potentials for Iris and Teresa so it feels like I shred mobs but barely tickle bosses compared to my other squads.

The game design in this game is generally really bad, and this "beta" event is a good showing of that again. But it's nothing new.
The only thing new is that this is the only content where I truly 100% believe it's solely design around you using the gacha chars or get fucked. The other stuff I feel like was all very much intended to be also beatable with other characters. Like that hit count check? Was that REALLY needed?

The game also controls way too badly for the shit that happens in phase 2 of the boss, but that's an entire different can of worms. Much worse is that a solid wind team with recommended power level, signature disc and co deals maybe 20 million damage in 3 minutes. It feels so bad even HAVING such a team, though obviously it was mandatory to have 2 teams for different, MUCH more reasonable, content.

Something went very wrong. But I mean we all know that. This game's balance is a disgusting mess. And there's no fixing this. So you either hop on the train running towards the cliff and enjoy the thrilling ride, or jump off and go your ways.
I always pity the staff working at stuff not related to the gameplay when this happens. They did good work.
