Now we've all had a little tour of the various chans.
What ideas would we do well to steal?

I'd like region flags, personally. Feel that regions express more about character than nations.

Pass allows you to:
>post webm/mp4 with sound across all boards
>upload mp3 files
>post files up to 10mb
>attach 3-4 files per post

I agree with all of this except for multi-file posts, those are extremely annoying and only actually useful on imagedump boards

What are the various chans?

The bump limit should be much higher on here than it is currently. All other chans that I was on had large and active threads. If the sharty can make a thread of 2000+ replies work (although with a lot of lag), why can't 4chan?

Most importantly, this is needed. Would sell enough passes they could double the median janitor salary

Bigger webms please, at least 10mb should be good enough. Sound would be good if you can also limit the max volume by default.

Nothing. Literally nothing. I cannot emphasize this enough: I was actually stunned at how nobody actually wants to do anything but slap vichan or whatever onto a server and call it a day. Not a single one of the altchans I visited had any features that were not either already present here or a derivative of what's here but made worse and all of them also run software that made the baffling decision to make it impossible to turn a bunch of the extension features off. I poked around in the code for a few of them and they could easily add checkboxes for things like image expansion--lynxchan, for example, has a check in its image expansion function (part of inline-expanding.js) to see if you're holding down CTRL while clicking and which bypasses the entire rest of the function if you are, which could easily also check for an option for whether or not you want to expand images at all. You have to block or override that script yourself if you want that option. That's only one of many many things that you just can't turn off. Lynxchan and vichan and everything else like those are bloated pieces of shit, the sites running them all have horrifically ugly CSS, and the people running them love to ruin the imageboard experience with sound webms and huge walls of poorly formatted multi-image posts interrupting the flow of what should be a smooth, simple interface that never distracts you with bullshit. How did imageboards get uglier and more annoying to use as time went on? I hate tinyboard and all of its infernal progeny like you wouldn't believe. Imageboard software peaked with wakaba and it never should've gone any further than that.

The closest thing to actual innovation I've seen on any of them were the ones that update in real time, but that actually just gets really annoying to deal with in daily use. It might be a fun gimmick board here, though. Maybe it'll make up for /f/ dying.

They don't listen to the feedback page. More likely to get a response if you pester them on IRC (spoiler alert, they'll tell you it's not going to happen)

Even 5MB or 6MB webms would make a huge difference for anons putting effort into encoding

I really liked how they didn't have bots spamming political ragebait in non-political boards.
Mods need to start doing their fucking job and get rid of that shit. There's "instigating a flamewar" as an official report reason, so fucking use it and close down those shit ass threads.

At some point /v/ was more twitter ragebait than actual videogame discussion

The "multi image posts interrupting the flow" is a good point, maybe it could just embed the first one and there can be a button to "show all embeds". But that may be annoying as people will be curious what those hidden embeds are and click it all the time. Another idea is to show the other three below the first attachment and much smaller.

I have zero faith in the admin of this site to change anything at this point. There has been zero innovation since mootles departed; we have been left to fester and nothing new is ever going to emerge.

Pass holders should be allowed to appeal 3-day bans, especially since most of things you get 3-days for are ridiculous and petty. I, as a pass owner, should at least be able to argue against being banned for 3 days because I posted "video games?" in a /v/ shitpost thread that was reported 2 hours prior.
