I've been giving the pykes shit for the whole game. Every time I get them anywhere, some quest comes up and I side against them again. I don't like the hutts either, but it just keeps happening that the pykes always lose.

Qi'ra always at 100% rep and I go out and get it to 100% again if it ever drops, which is rare. My quest is to hold hands with her.

The rep system in this game is pretty neat.

Driving my scooter across the Dune Sea. It's like I'm really playing swtor.

This game is honestly not that bad. Ubisoft deserves their bad reputation but Massive obviously tried their best and I think it came out fine, and I wouldn't want to hold the developer responsible for the sins of the publisher.

The gameplay gets a bit repetitive, as is the case with all of these open world action games, but the reputation system is neat and the plot is a heist movie which is always fine.

Nah, but the planet stories are mostly decent and tend to line up with the areas of the class stories. Nar Shadaa is a gargantuan piece of shit and Taris is only good for Thana if you happen to be a cumbrain (and imperial), but if the planet and class stories overlap you might as well do them at the same time. You can just do class stories though, and maybe there are some good republic planet quests I dunno I've only done the four imperial classes thus far.

The closest I've ever found for the googles was picrel, which you can find on the GTN sometimes, but these go over your eyes so I just usually have them toggled off. The Consular robes pictured are the Force Magister's Robes which are available from the Adaptive Gear vendor on the fleet (pub), which my Sage occasionally wears, but I'm not fond of how the outfit clips.

I'm still mad that I missed out on the Moon Pilgrim set. It's like the only good looking seasonal outfit and you still can't get it back after all these years.

I'm going to try out SWTOR after shitting on it when it first came out.
I figure since MMOs are effectively just single player games nowadays, I might as well play one that's geared towards it.

I usually tank in MMOs but I skimmed a guide that basically said that I should use a DPS spec to level and then switch to tank once I finally raid with people. Am I going to be clueless on my rotations if I wait to tank until high 50's?

I've played the KOTOR games before, but I guess in the MMO, DPS/TANK for lightsaber users are restricted to a certain type of class? Like you can't tank while dual wielding, you can only tank with double blade or single blade?

Is there any accidentally missable bullshit I gotta worry about?

I'm not sure since, thanks to the latest expansion's ability pruning, some classes don't have a working kit until high level.

Dual-wielding lightsabers is only for the Sentinel/Marauder Combat Styles (which can't tank). The Combat Styles that can tank are:
-Guardian/Juggernaut: Both use a single lightsaber (the guardian uses both hands to swing the lightsaber while the Juggernaut uses a single hand but is just an animation thing) plus an invisible off-hand
-Powertech/Vanguard: The first wields a pistol+offhand (though most if not all its attacks revolve around a wrist-mounted device) and the second a rifle+off-hand (yes, the rifle still counts as one-handed).
-Assassin/Shadow: Both wield a double-bladed lightsaber+the invisible off-hand

Mostly cosmetic stuff (this shit has been releasing more unique armors through the cash shop than through in-game activities for years), but there's also unlocks that normally come (and go) with being a subscriber, like being able to use Artifact (aka epic) gear and above, having more slots in the auction house, or having all three profession slots. If you have an authenticator app linked to your account you get monthly coins too.

It depends on what type of games you like.
There are great flight sim games for starwars, but if you don't like flight sims there's no point to recommend them.

Also depends on how old you're willing to go. Those new dark souls-like games seem to be decent games, but buggy. Not sure if they patched those bugs.

I've only played the jedi classes and none of them stand out as being particularly bad, even Lord Scourge has a reason for opposing the Empire. Currently I'm playing an Agent though and I have no idea why anyone in his right mind would associate with Kaliyo, why would the Empire employ an anarchist and why would the agent not just shoot her as it becomes increasingly obvious that she's a complete psychopath?

Are the expansions really worthwhile? Makeb was okay aside from being hard to take seriously due to sharing its premise with a Futurama episode, but Shadow of Revan was trash that brought back the title character just to drag him through the mud, now I'm on Knights of the Fallen Empire and while visually interesting the quippy Marvelesque writing and endless corridors of skytroopers are wearing on my nerves. Are the later ones worth pushing through it for or should I just be done with the game now?

I could see a character like her being used as a contact in order to cause chaos for the Hutts/Republic, but you're right I don't really know why either your Agent character or Kaliyo herself would work together. I don't see her bowing to some sith lord either. If this was a KOTOR game, I'd expect her to stay on the Ebon Hawk the entire time you're on Dromund Kaas.

When it comes to companions, I don't have a problem with a character giving an opposing viewpoint of the faction, but some of them seem so geared towards the Lightside/Republic. You'd think that some of these characters would just defect or remain neutral.

I liked it a lot, I think retards just got filtered by it because it's slower paced and more about diplomacy than the big dumb popcorn movie that is the Knight's story. By the end of the game it feels like your character is respected because of the influence he wields, not because of the succession of superweapons he's destroyed and cartoon villains he's defeated.

If you guys like Pre-CU SWG, you should check out SWG Animus. It's most accurately described as "Vanilla Plus"

It addressed a lot of the problems with classic pre-cu, added some new mechanics (and lots of QoL) to flesh out some of the intended design of pre-cu without going super over the top and immersion ruining like other servers such as Infinity.

Pretty much every profession has had balance passes, non-jedi professions are extremely competitive, and the creature handler profession has been buffed to be viable, even in PvP. Jedi are flagged for PvP whenever they have robes or lightsabers equipped, player bounties have been expanded to include non-Jedi players, as well as some additional bosses added. Loot is accelerated and so is XP so you can catch up easily - not to mention full group xp.

There is a PvP progression system alongside FRS, and the dangerous exploration planets are all PvP flagged outside of the outposts, as well as having PvP flagged POIs and static spawns to add some risk to farming and prevent AFK farming.

The Healh system was modified so that you can play the game without buffs as a requirement, but buffing is still a factor, functioning more as an extra bonus rather than necessity.

The server launched fairly recently, the pop is still growing and the economy is starting to become fleshed out so there is still lots of time to get in if you like the early life of SWG servers.

This is a really great server if you like unadulterated Pre-CU with a lot of potential and it would be awesome to get some more interest in it. It's not a "PvP" server as such but tries to integrate it back into the day to day gameplay to re-create the feeling from the live SWG launch era.

Well for one, I find all of the stat cards to be overwhelming. Currently I've been just playing the Assault class only and trying to just master that before trying my hand at a different class. I try to favor cards that boost health and grant health on kill since I'm not the best when it comes to my reflexes and reaction time.

I won’t be able to help you as much as I’d like to as it has been like five years since I played before this week.
I’ve also been HvV warrioring on only two characters consistently so my experience is probably not gonna apply exactly to what you want.
But when I was playing HvV with unleveled cards I still was able to hold my own by just keeping track of the other guy’s cooldowns and my stamina bar.

After looking at the assault class cards I think your personal best combo (considering you said you like having the health boost) I’d do Brawler, Toughen Up, Bodyguard.

Ive been going through the main legacy quest on Galaxies and almost through the end of Naboo. I understand the lack of players from being old and Im also in Japan so different timezone to others (I assume most players are in USA/EU). It's the first MMO i've actually put time into. Here are my questions so far:

-Combat/gameplay is as basic, boring, and bland as my presumptions about MMOs have always been. "Go collect 5 x, Go kill 10 x, ride 50 miles away to do it then comeback" times a million. Combat is hold click and mash power attacks and heal as they recharge. How much better do newer MMOs (specifically TOR, FF11, FF14, ESO) get?

I know this is longer than most 8-12 games, which is why people say MMOs are so long, but as someone who plays single player RPGS and is a completionist in them, I easily put hundreds of hours into games like FFX, FF7, Fallout, Skyrim, Persona, and even AssCreed. If I JUST do main story quests in other MMOs, bee-lining it like Im doing with galaxies, how long are they compared to my experience with Galaxies vs other RPGS I sank 100s of hours into? Can TOR, FF11, FF14, or ESO be "beaten" in less than 100 hours?

Blasting through the legacy quest with basically empty servers as my first experience with the game has a weird feeling. A feeling I've always had about MMOs. It feels weird or sad just cruising past all these huge buildings and environments and NPCs that basically amount to nothing despite looking cool and like a potentially fun playground. to be honest i got to about level 63 and then, unable to out-dps one of the last legacy quest bosses, i realized there was an item to insta-level 90 and used it. so im not sure if there is a pokemon rare candy sort of "you didnt actually level so youre weaker" deal going on. i did the warren base thing, and just recently came to dathomir to try the witches and aurilia quests, but a single spider clan witch out-dps's me and i cant continue these quests. still have the death troopers, nyms theme park, meatlumps theme park, imperial/rebel theme park, rage of the wookies, and obi wan trials left (and i believe that would cover all the major content in the game).
i was thinking to finish nyms, meatlumps, and maybe deathtrooper, imperial, wookies, obi-wan stuff in case i can progress and get gear.

yeah omega is legends server. you're not going to find competitive gear from questing unfortunately. mustafar quests drop decent buff items tho. all in all, it can be a whole rabbit hole to just get geared up. if you're looking for direction i'd suggest first trying to build yourself a +35 suit, powerups (pups), get decent food and drink, and the always get ent, medic or officer buffs each time before questing. once you've done all that, then aim for instance (raid) jewelry sets and gcw/pvp buffs. i can try going into more detail if you want

best cheese strat is to take advantage of line of sight, run around and hug corners, i could solo silver/gold elites as a support character this way. only really works in or around structures.
mustafar quests drop decent buff items with cooldowns.
by competitive I just mean in the general sense of being comparable to late game gear without breaking the bank, it's still expensive but less than 5 mil.
the medic and officer buffs you can get from afk bots in mos eisley.
buying gear or buff items doesn't necessarily require direct player interaction. you can search on the bazaar for player owned vendors which are terminals/npcs they set up in houses.

Only weak part is the companion lineup and your only romance options really being a giant fuckoff monster man, your own Ahsoka or a pirate (at least until the expansions).

QUESTION: My friend group is considering trying out an SWG private server this year, after having progressed through FF11 Horizon last year. We have never mained SWG before. basically, you want tech fragments and you want to trade those tech fragments for valuable crafting materials. Sell those crafting mats on the GTN. If you have a couple of max level characters, you can also do Heroic missions. They'll give you about 27k credits per Heroic, and there's lots of Heroics that can be done in 5 minutes or less. The problem is also that so many pubside questlines in general are also about people defecting to the empire that it just becomes silly. How is the republic winning anything, anywhere, when fucking everyone everywhere is constantly defecting?

After chapter 1 you have the shitty mass effect-lite part where you're going from one end of the galaxy to the other to recruit these random bozos who are totally the best in the entire galaxy at what they do bro we definitely have to drop everything to go to hoth to recruit this random bugman scout bro it's totally worth it. They aren't likable or interesting like the ME crew, they never actually show these supposed one-of-a-kind genius savant levels of ability in their niche, and the only entertaining crewmate in the whole story is literally a robot.
