Every cache revision that is available will slowly be recreated by the Lost City project, after every feature has been tested.

This server will have NO Quality Of Life features, and will exclusively be a recreation, not catering to playability.

The beta is here! It's the first release of 2004scape. Character stats won't be reset from now on.
All Free-to-Play content of Runescape as it was on May 18th 2004 will be available to play, at a normal 1x XP rate. Members content will be unlocked with the full release of 2004scape on March 29th.

The Lost City project hopes to recreate a bunch of lost versions, and content will slowly update to match later revisions, and it will eventually launch 2005scape, etc. Each new year will be its own separate server, each having different saves of your character that carry over from the previous years, meaning that anything you accomplish in 2004scape will still persist as the game progresses through the years.

So there is 2009scape, 2011scape, and Darkan which provide what you want. The issue is that they lack a lot of content and use outdated engines, but the big stuff from those ages are added, even Dungeoneering. I'd say the most authentic server that isn't barebones as fuck (AKA RSC and 2004) is Vidyascape which has everything pre-ge.

There are probably ~15 players hoarding most of the items in the game and manipulating the economy. They're all merchers or crafters and it's getting worse as the game loses players. Dragonstone items? There's probably 10x the number in the game than there are active players, but the crafters and merchants are actually making the price go up instead of down. It wouldn't be that bad (it wasn't until recently) if it was nearly every other item in the game. They haggle the skillers down and then resell at 30-40% more, it's disgusting and just uncontrolled scalping at this point.

his PvP style is almost exclusively melee (he strictly banned all magic until he unlocked ancients, which took an embarrassingly long time). after catching a lucky 50 on me stacked with poison, and nabbing a master wand off drunk / yuurin (which he promptly sold lol), he was the most feared of all who roam among the green dragons.

now, resting on his laurels as the king of vscape because he owns a purple phat, the rarest one btw, and a random assortment of barrows junk and i think a godsword, he's taken to terrorizing the 04scape forums protesting the lvl 91 who got the blue phat, protesting rares in general, hitting on potential goth cat grandmas, and otherwise being a general nuisance.

Disregard weekend workers and life-havers. Add rares in an intentionally inauthentic manner to boost playercount and player engagement. Get 1/5th the expected playercount over the weekend. Only a handful of rares are added to the game.
