>>1758512Don't bother, the laser has fucked hit detection, the torpedo mechanism literally has 200 hp, and the shields has holes.
Only good as a mobile base and larping as a carrier group with friends
>>1758461I personnally want the grey market to stay. For one to fuck CIG a bit. But most importantly I want an "out" in case I need the money.
I can use EU law to force a reimbursement but there are ways to weasel out of it and I doubt EU will give a shit. So a more realistic approach is to sell my account in grey market.
>>1758475Avenger Titan is still only a starter. You will find specialized ships to do whatever you want to do.
But Avenger Titan is the best starter and even maybe in reality the best all-rounder? I mean its like a miniature Corsair but its actually fast and competitive in firepower and handling on its size class unlike Corsair.
>>1758512Just steal one, stanton is littered with abandoned ones and you can clip in or even shoot the doors to get in very easily.
I want to rant about corsair since there is nothing better to do. They really did my girl dirty.
Its one thing to remove the one good thing it had - firepower. Now its left with terrible speed, dogshit handling, 3 high cargo grid, paper towel survivability and useless turrets.
The only good things in corsair:
>Drake, looks cool
>Wings can be used as bumpers to survive crashes and to ram other ships like the warthunder katana meme
>Multiple entry and exit points
>It sits really low on the ground, making it pretty damn nice to load/unload.
"After raising over $800 million from its community, Star Citizen's developer delays the release of a new ship upgrade as players balk at having to pay for it."
Genuine question. How do people who bought into Star Citizen cope with having their asses fucked by Chris Roberts over the past 13 years?
13 years and $800,000,000.
Let that sink in.
13 years of taking humongous cock up the ass. Jesus.
800 million dollars, a budget bigger than the income of some small countries.
That certainly is some ass gaping. Heroic even. Must take a very special sort of person to sit back and take a massive dick up the butthole for 13 years, while paying for it. Really, the amount of anal sphincter stretching must be astronomical. I bet you could just about park a school bus, a yacht, and a freight train inside their rectums.
I can only surmise that those who continue to buy into Star Citizen must enjoy a good long hard assfucking. I bet you need to hear ear protection so as not to be deafened by their squeals of pleasure.
>>1758592didn't they re-enable the guns for the pilot
>>1758610Yeah but they downsized them. Corsair is now 4xS4 2xS5
>>1758606it reads like a fetish post and I bet you had a semi chub out but I get what you mean. Me and my friends bought a basic pack and we thought it was shit for the price they asks for it. However, one of our friend got way too into it and despite the fact that we chose to let go, he still believe in it fantasy style and he just added 700โฌ more for a perseus because "i don't have any money problems." nevermind the fact that amount of shit you could do here with that kind of money.
Some people are just either retarded or don't know what to do with their money or the value it has, I dont know.
>>1758615Isn't that the best pilot controlled loadout in a ship under $1500?
>>1758634Corsair dads aren't satisfied with anything other than a ship with more forward facing pilot controlled firepower than an idris.

>>1758928The old inventory system was just fine. And most people still use it, since you can toggle it from right top corner.
New system is mostly used to abuse the system. (eg. invisible undersuit)
>>1758939Is that what the return shaped arrow does?
Because it feels like theres at least 2 inventory systems that sort of do the same thing. Because theres one page with a backpack that hardly holds anything, and a small areas with leg armor and main armor slots that dont hold anything at all, then thereโs the โequipโ page that doesnt do fucking anything when im looting a body or trying to don/doff an item and I have to try to do it 5 fucking times to swap my helmet for an enemiesโ
>>1758982There is the new system thats on the lower end of the screen, and has a button to switch to armor mode and has swap buttons etc.
Then the arrow on the top right corner opens the old inventory that the kiosk also uses - the drag and drop one.
The old one used to be the default and only one - and it was sufficient and worked well aside from server problems. Thats probably why they decided to make a worse version.
Similarly to how they made the starmap navigation prettier and have more information - but did not fix any of the bazillion bugs with it so it just added new bugs on top of the old ones. Seems like they dont give a shit about fixing it so gotta live with workarounds and fighting the navigation system being a part of pilots duties.

Squadron 42 will probably get delayed for "touch-ups" or "polish" or some other PR speak, while Chris Roberts tries to avoid having his game near the spotlight of GTA6. So I say 2027.
As for Star Citizen it may not come out. If Chris can't make a shit load of money off Squadron 42 he will get buttfucked by the Calder investors. He has to pay out $180 million in 2028. He will do a runner.

>>1760433There are quite a few different ones - none of them are required for anything - but ground vehicles can be useful to move under planetary turrets. As for combat: They are all undertuned and weak with little use outside of killing pve soldiers that you can kill with P4-AR as easily. Best might be the big Anti-Air ones since ships are actually useful. As for "supposed to be strongest" yes, nova. There are no APC's in the game but there are some ground transports. APC would imply that the vehicle is armored to withstand some damage - but all vehicles are kinda weak.

>>1760775>Anvil has announced via earningโs call that active development of two Hawk variants will continue into FY48. The DireHawk project, which is based on a popular third-party conversion, aims to add an additional two Scattergun mounts and supporting battery. The second variant is ShadowHawk, a stealth variant intended for more advanced hunters and potentially military sale. At present, the ShadowHawk removes two guns in exchange for stealth armor coating and the addition of a data spike array. The ShadowHawkโs future at retail is less certain, but it is expected to reach the prototype article stage before any decision is made. the lore already had a variant of the hawk with more guns lmao. thankfully they'll probably wait until 2027 when bounty hunting rework comes off the backburner.

>>1760546Its a single-person ship with no weapons and no interior, that's a racing variant of the slowest fighter in the game. On top of that if you try and replace any of the base components with the Competition B components awarded by Wikelo they don't actually equip.
>>1760854Hopefully it's like how solar flares were supposed to be and certain ships (300i, 400i, exploration variants) have higher resistance.
>>1761086The issue is we don't know if Meteor is going to be a military ship (Scorpius/Polaris materials) or a racing ship (Zeus/Galaxy materials).
I'm betting on a multirole based on giving a Mantis more firepower, an interior, and cargo.

Idrisfags, I need to know: can you bed log-off with a fighter on your flight deck?
>>1762061yes, but if you dock with a station, it bugs out and you have to store and retrieve in a hanger before you can bedlog again.
Also, after bedlogging, your ship's quantum markers become untargetable
what do you anons think about the GMX?

In general ships are also powercreeping like crazy. Latest example could be Idris T-kit that completely invalidates the whole reason why Polaris exists at all.

>>1762431Pretty meh. I hope you're planning on supplementing it with gray market store credit that you bought at 50-53% otherwise you'd be better off just buying an already CCU'd one off the gray market.
>>1762464I'm too scared of gray market I don't wanna get my account banned
>>1762474You're not at any risk of getting your account banned for receiving an item, they would just revoke the item if it was fraudulent. The only thing you have to worry about is buying store credits in the form of a meltable ship, melting it, and spending those credits and then having the melted ship flagged as fraudulent by the previous owner in which case they'd attempt to deduct the value of the ship from your store credits which would place you into the negatives which would then lock your account until you melt enough stuff to bring your balance back to 0 from the negatives which automatically unlocks the account. This is an exceedingly rare issue though due to 2FA being mandatory to gift ships. Gray market trading is completely allowed but "At your own risk" as CIG will not offer any support for the loss of ships/money in regards to a trade and thus they heavily recommend you do not do it.

>>1764957you dont actually have to do the mission.
>>1765100Could've been player Polaris turrets, I don't know. I was a bit busy fucking dying to double-check. The point is that some guy flying through my stream of bolts got nicked slightly and I suddenly became public enemy #1.
>>1765266>will cig ever dare to add fun gameplay in their game?Rhetorical question, I know, but here's my answer anyway:
>Not if they want to keep selling expensive jpegs to whales
Truly dog shit warbond CCU options this ilw
Man what's the point of grey market when the ccus are more expensive than that rsi store
CIG is starting to make an effort to scrape every last bit of money by squeezing CCU gaming and edging out grey markets.
Worrying from a financial standpoint, given that they didn't seem to care before
>>1765711yeah Im holding out for drake day desu.
Im REALLY hoping theres a Herald warbond. Ive got a Titan thats been waiting to grow up into a Harold for a while now but I missed it at Citcon and then again IAE due to real life shenanigans distracting me.
like
>Warbond on Ares Inferno when its been tottally molested into uselessness.>C2 thats not even back down to initial priceThough the C2 might be the best this year desu.
First day was nautilus I think? Literally the Most vaporware ship in the game.
StarG warbond was OK but Ive long since run out of StarG>$350 ccus to ride, they did get me some nice discounts over the years though and I am Highly interested in the supposed Starfarer redesign. The StarG is actually very attractive by the numbers, its just that internal layout that scuttles it. IMO. Though I havent done a hard comparison to other ships ion class lately and its likely been powercrept a lot.
Once upon a time a StarG was actually the theoretical best "Large" pirate ship.
I dont even remember what the RSI and Origin warbonds were
I was 100% planning to get a Guardian MX until they revealed it loses the best and cabin in to get that extra shield, like props to them for actual making it a different ship and not just "But better" but it murdered my interest in it and Im just gonna stick with my QI, cus that whole thing I like about it was a 1 man combat ship with big guns and a bed.
The extra shield is a huge deal, but the fact its slower, and it by nature limited in range kills it. Also I think gun sizes are gonna matter a lot more in the future and the twin S5s will actually be an asset when you start talking about stuff like armor pen.
>>1765728getting CCUs to stuff not currently available if you think the price is gonna jump before its sold again.
its shitty and CIG should really be up front about price increases. I wound up giving some grey market guy $40 for a pair of CCUS I needed to complete a chain instead of giving CIG $30 because if the price went up even $10 it would have ruined my chain and I couldnt get a straight answer out of support as to whether one was planned. The goal of the chain was to get a BMM and a Perseus for $240 each and so having the chain ruined was not really an option.
I found a free idris K on an island
but actually using it actually doesn't feel any different from my starlancer tac
I think when you buy it the hype goes down in a few days and it's just a regular ship
I'm sorry for people who bought it 2000$ they must feel so bad
>>1765841it doesn't feel different because the laser is bugged and does no damage to hull. It's fixed for next patch and deletes ships in like 2 secs
Still gobsmacked that the only ship in the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME that has individual rooms for its crew is the starlancer max.
What is the vehicle team's obsession with bunks, was one of them mindbroken by a tour of duty on a sub or something?
>>1765882corsair also has it
>>1765885Oh true.
So that makes two ships of like 50+ that aren't cuckbunks.
>his pioneer doesn't come with a stolen land acknowledgment
>>1765906Off topic but it's cool the 890 has paints now. Even more impressive is that 2/3 of them actually look good.
Asgards pretty lit but Im not gonna buy one cus the price point is wrong and I already have an Ironclad.
>>1765939And now I'm looking at 400i concept arts and pissed off that we could have had "300i but bigger" but instead they decided to make a useless space yacht.
>>1766219every ship has a better concept it could have been. Chris literally never picks the best one.
>>1766219Just be glad Chris told them that giant round thing on the back being a hot tub was too much.

>be me
>ask for something in spectrum
>x months later it shows up
for example I asked for this paint for my sabre and they copied it in photoshop to put it on the asgard/valkyrie
and they do it with so many things I say on spectrum over the years actually like darm I've never seen any dev taking so seriously what I tell them
however they never not even once answered to me or credited me
should I be mad that they are making money on my back at this point I feel like they should start to pay me idk
asguard kinda junk it's a minimum effort bronze standard valk made by the mushmouthed brown ESL vehicle team
>there was a freefly going on this whole damn time
>and it ends tuesday
dammit
>certain weapon has certain sized slots where similar sized attachments can be placed
>some fags on twitch show up with smg's with size 2 4x magnification scopes and other impossible crap

>>1767268alright I got my poor man's drip with my 25k free fly welfare check, time to get some grub and find out how to leave this shithole
>>1765783>yeah Im holding out for drake day desu. There won't be a drake day.
>>1765728>grey marketwell right now the invicta shit means most shit is here so you can upgrade yourself but when it's not the grey market is the answer.
>>1766376A larger, cheaper, more sensible valk rework and I always almost liked the valk and this thing fixes what I didnt like about it.
However, unlikely to buy one for other reasons. No convenient CCU being chief among them.
Don't like it enough to just buy one outright for sure.
>>1766794It's a valk with a bigger vehicle bay and without all the wasted space and useless turrets of the valk, like yea its largely defenseless, but its a landing craft and they are generally not meant to fight and meant to be used under escort. It also has enough cargo space to be used as a materiel transport on its own. It pays less dropship tax while being more functional in practice.
Also it just looks a lot cooler, the way the engines are mounted is better and it is literally the dropship from alien.
>>1767294May 25th literally says drake day.
Maybe there no new ship and theres not an actual drake defensecon this year, but there will be a day where drake ships are put up for sale.
I feel like a lot these ships or pointless especially the variants
It's basically
Cargo varients vs a second variant cause the third one is just pure ass.
Usually it's cargo vs combat.
>>1767326Pragmatic/Pirate/Scavenger variant with cargo space for all the loot Im gonna hoover up and I wander arounf fighting thing and robbing people
Pure Combat/Milsimmer/Tryhard variant for the Coplarp powertrippers, "Bounty Hunters" and "Hardened Mercenaries" who just want to fight stuff without consideration for lootmaxxing, side gigs or occasional cargo liberation.
Extra bullshit Mcguffin variant for Star Trekkers who are basically playing the game as a social RPG and all the superfluous bullshit provides them with material for roleplay that "A ship with guns a cargo bay and respawn bed" does not.
It really not that complicated desu.
When are we going to see a Perseus in game? I've got a good chain to it as a hold over before I get a good deal on a Polaris (and since the Perseus is in dev the price will probably go up when it's out), but it seems kind of ass with what they got posted on the website. S7x4, s3x4, s5 torp x20.. kinda if mid. What's its use case even supposed to be? Heavy fighter/hammer head shredder?
This game better fucking come out
>>1767333i just wanna fight stuff and collect loot, i would also like to carry a vehicles. every vehicle is fucking bloated and huge, you need an equally bloated and huge ship to carry them.
>>1767420Main guns were upgunned from S7 > S8 and I believe S3's > S4's as well but that one I might be incorrect on. It also has either a larger shield generator tier or an extra shield of the same tier. It'll be released at IAE at the end of this year.
>>1767430Cutlass Black carries a ursa or smaller, RAFT carries almost 200scu and when outfitted with ardors and attritions can do PVE bounty piracy at a brisk speed due to the external tractor beam enabling you to just snatch shit out of the hold of soft deathed PVE ships and slot onto your external cargo grid.
>>1767429I just want the f8c to not be dogshit anymore, and the Conny to get a less dog shit cockpit :)
>>1767432i'll look into the raft, but it appears to me that it's basically cutlass black or corsair the good multi rollers.
Everyone in this game always fucking larps as if there gonna be alot big battles and that why the justification for the ship like what is wrong with these people max you can get in any fight is 30 if your lucky average is gonna 10, a group of 5 maybe just a second person to run shit with you.
>>1765711Almost got the Zeus to Taurus warbond to prep for the meteor but decided against it.
>>1767441Asgard lets you fit either the starter mining ship alongside extra mining bags (Golem) or the upcoming starter salvaging ship which you can use to salvage the ships of any PVE bounty you do (Asgard can easily do all PVE bounties up to a hammerhead solo). Also fits any ground vehicle, any MPUV, and several ships such as the Arrow, Razor, snub ships. It'll basically become the premium version of the Cutlass Black.
>>1767314It still has wasted space in the front. It still has just 1 ladder upstairs, it still has only 20k hp on main pieces. (Down from 25k on valk)
>>1767441A lot of ships can multirole. But almost all of them "multirole" as ground vehicle carriers. Only the capital ships Polaris and Idris can do absolutely everything through the shit they can carry. (And by some stretch the Hercules variants)
You can fit both with fighters, salvagers, miners, APC, and some cargo.
Naturally you are going to need the extra ships on top of the capital ship.
>>1767459"Convenience" costs
>>1767420iae this year 100%
>>1766794asgard is braindead big cube with 6 pilots guns and a nova tank cargo that fly 1075m/s in atmo
they really got no shame turning my cute valkyrie into that ugly borg cube
>>1767314>>1767453>>1767459I don't know much but i see asgard as an expensive C1 competitor, you want a smaller ship than C2 size of C1 and carry a tank ore just more shit.
I wish instead making retarded variants of the same ship and taking forever even though variants should be any easier job, they would work on the grid storage system, I would love to be able to make a hilux technical with cargo ships where you can put a hangar and turret or guns to get more molecularity and firepower at a cost of less armor or less fuel etc.
Guys, how do I dodge EM missles? they hit me every time. Especially when firebird cucks shit out 12 of them
>>1767661In theory you could boost, chaff and turn your ship off to reduce your EM sig to 0 then let the missiles fly past you. In reality this game is shit and you should uninstall it.

Predict how everything is going to end
>SQ42 finally releases in 2026
>The development is still a mess but they know they cant delay it any further, as it was supposed to release in 2016.
>The game is mediocre, buggy, short, filled with cringy clichรฉs and lackluster gameplay
>6/10 ign
>The cultists will claim it's a masterpiece, an unpolished gem, but most backers and the wider public will see how this game that has been in development for 14 years and that has costed almost $1billion isn't living up to the expectations.
>Shitposters and content creators will have a ton of juicy content content to squeeze, and will rip it apart. Everyone will jump on the Squadron 42, Star Citizen and Chris Roberts hate wagon.
>Meanwhile, Star Citizen is still nowhere near completion. However, now that SQ42 has released, the team is fully committed with the mmo.
>the problem is that the game's foundation is an absolute mess, as over the years they have built spaghetti code over spaghetti code over a spaghetti code. They can't fix bugs without causing 10 more: the entire foundation is rotten.
>it's a lasagna of incompetence and greed
At this point, funding starts drying up. After the fiasco of SQ42, people have lost any remaining faith in the team. There aren't new backers and the long time ones who still hadn't jumped out of the ship are finally giving up. Only the most delusional whales remain, as the devs try to bait them with more p2w fearures.
>it's 2027, things are breaking apart, and the morale is in an all time low. People have started talking about lawsuits, everyone calls it a scam and they're running out of money
>they decide to call it a day. They wrap everything up, and the same game suddenly goes from alpha, to beta, and it releases in late 2027
>despite their best efforts, it's syill buggy tech demo with barely any functioning mechanics
>6/10 ign again, mediocre and niche.
There's no climatic ending: no big closure to this saga, and that will be the end of it.
>>1767858What we've seen so far about sq42 is very little gameplay (mode of which Is on-rail shooter) and a lot of cinematics, that's usually a bad sign
>>1767867And the cinematics are cringe and filled with clichรฉs

this place look so good I wanna place my station here
>>1767284alright after finally a leaving pyro (and spending all my money on repairs after a botched landing) I'm finally at invictus again. that wormhole was hellish, traveling through it was far more involved than I thought it'd be. anyways, why can't I rent these ships? they all look new and nice
>>1767858gay ass theory crafting lol
>>1767894Rental terminals for the Invictus ships are at the top of the main stairs as you enter the hall on either side. It may not let you rent those ships in particular right now cause its Anvil day, but the final few days will let you rent every ship that was on rotation.
>>1767858>The cultists will claim it's a masterpieceThe number of people who have positive feelings towards S42, even among gigawhales of like 10k+, is unbelieveably small.
If it's anything other than an actual, objective masterpiece then not a single scam shartizen player will be defending it.
>>1767924I believe that for their own mental health, people will try to convince themselves that it's a masterpiece and that their money, time and energy has been well spent
>>1767933No one will. If S42 is a failure then people will just unleash their rage onto CIG for wasting hundreds of millions and over a decade on a failed ego project. I suspect that funding will dry up completely and most people will walk away from SC alltogether.
Even now, the whole "le white night cultsist" thing barely exists anymore. Go onto the forums or the reddit and you'll be unable to find an old culty/white-knight style hyper positivity post.
At most you'll find posts where the OP is posting about something cool that happened in game or posting screenshot simulator.
>>1767940I wonder what they will show in the citizencon this year, it's supposed to release in 2026. I'm wondering what's going to take for an actual backlash, could the community handle another delay?
>>1767874True, but for the most part they are "ok". What is the most puzzling is the flaccid noncommitted voice acting from the star cast. Gary Oldman is my absolute favorite actor and his speech in both voice quality and in content is garbage. His has had some very good speeches in movies so I have to conclude that direction is very important.
Im hoping Davos Seaworthy is a better fit to his role.
>>1767933one thing's for sure, SQ42 could make Roger Ebert rise from the grave just to admit that videogames have finally met the bar for art, and there would still be contrarian fags swarming every platform that talks about vidya with low effort shitposts about how it's still a scam and minimum viable product.
>>1767995Oldman and Gillian Anderson both sound fucking terrible in this and it seems to be a deliberate directorial choice to support how old they're supposed to be. fucking baffling. you'd never know it was either of them. at least Hamill is just Hamill. I'm sure Cavill will be great as well.
>>1767924if it were to flop it might actually be good for the game as a whole; if it was a money loser they'd be forced to abandon any sequel/DLC plans and could put all their crack devs on the MMO side to actually make a good game out of SC.
>>1767999Its very very stupid choice. All the best speeches in scifi are delivered by clear and strong voiced characters. Not feeble old farts mumbling.
And if he wanted to go for "we will fight in the beaches" then the content of the speech and the pacing should have been more carefully crafted.
>>1767923that's a weird change, but okay
>>1768017the renting is essentially the same.
Take this positively, less time spent in creating the halls for each day, more time spent on something else. CIG is running out of money, they have to focus on getting shit done.
>>1767333Editor's Note: The McGuffin Variant's gameplay loop is not in the game yet and has no ETA on implementation.
>>1767867>>1767858i thought i looked fine. basically a cod campaign but on a grander scale. im more concerned about it being a buggy piece of shit than i am of it being a standard on rails shooter.

>>1768763It's happened in the Asgard as well.
Hull limiting is the biggest bullshit ever. Wanted to melt some stuff, maybe grab an indris with either fresh cash OR store credit.
The fact that people are botting for an idris is insane, even more so when you see 30+ accounts listed on the grey market with nothing but an Idris and LTI Merlin, so its clear as day they're botted.

>>1758606Maybe we just enjoy getting our asses fucked?
>>1769607It depends on how much you lose when reclaiming shit. EvE has a more cutthroat community and you still have margin to maneuver. SC has actual mechanics that lack in eve such as prison (which can be improved) and a bounty system that kinda works (at least its not 100% useless).
Suicide ganking will be a thing (nomad with some kind of bomb in its cargo plus cargo alt). Botting is much much harder in this game though. Those are the differences.
There might be wise asses who will somehow coordinate 2 clients to fly something like a paladin/hurricane/scorpius solo with full gimbals (that will be fun too). If by any reason they decide to introduce some kind of hitscan weapon then you will have aimbots (the whole game is fucked).

Did the full Hathor run yesterday with 3 people. No one else there.
this white paint looks pretty guud
>>1769757They have to force PvP to get people to spend on bigger and more expensive ships to keep up with the power creep.
With industrial you'll eventually find a niche and settle there, whether it's solo, duo, or multi-crew play. With PvE you can make do and approach the problem with alternate solutions, lots of patience, or just avoid it altogether.
Not so with PvP. Whatever you may doing there'll be others who will go out of their way to fuck you over, just because they can, and the only way to keep ahead of them is to have a bigger ship with a respawn point.
PvP player? Well, now you'll need an entire tool box to best fuck different types of players over, and you'll need to keep up-to-date on each of your tools.
Hopium keeps PvE and industrial players in the game, but the financial incentive is simply not there for CIG to cater to these players over PvP ones. They either don't have the foresight to see what this dynamic will do to the game once it hits 1.0, or they simply don't have a choice but to cater to them for immediate and easy funding.
>>1771821The people wanting to fuck you over often fly just a single seater fighter. Your theory is a bit lopsided.
PvE players wanting to do their shit in peace need the big ships to stave off pvp players. With the other options being having numerical advantage or just fighting them until one side gives up (and another pvp carrion fly appears)
I can say from experience that most pvpfag fly hornets.

>no defensecon
>no Idris loaner for kraken owners
It's so over drakebros
>>1771827>PvE players wanting to do their shit in peace need the big ships to stave off pvp players. That's exactly what I meant.
PvP forces PvE players to fly bigger ships, ideally with PDC, medbeds, and whatever shit they want to carry for their PvE play; mining, salvaging, hauling, LARPing.
PvPers uses Gladius and Hornets to fuck with small to mid industrial ships, but for bigger targets they'll need more specialist tools like A1s, A2s, and Eclipses. Also, Firebird to fuck with people in general over points of interest. Of course they fly other ships, but this is just an example.
This forced PvP pushes both PvP and PvP players to buy more and bigger ships.
PvE players buy bigger ships to be left alone. PvP players buy bigger/more ships to keep fucking with PvE players. Hope that the game will get better keeps the PvE players around (vast majority of the population). Punching down on PvE players keep the majority of PvP players around (majority do not want a fair fight; see how often they run if shit goes south).
Therefore, what ultimately keeps the players around is the hope of PvE players that the game will get better. IMO, without it, the population will likely collapse.

One of the biggest concerns I have is that Roberts long term autism and original plans for monetization will get eroded by gacha / item mall / etc...normalized younger devs and players alike, where we all suffer if say.. they go back on the plan to stop selling ships or any items directly when the game goes 1.0, to switch over to selling expansions for SQ42, account services stuff like full custom NPC tokens you can use as "inheritors" to become your PC after a previous one dies for real, and a capped amount of in-game cash (sufficient to allow someone who didn't play for awhile to pay their bills instead of devoting all their time to grinding etc.. but not destabilize the economy).
>Idris
Those of us with Idris all ready, the "old" Idris-P upgrade kit seems to give all the stuff of the new K kit, right?
>Dropships
What's the opinion on dropships and gunships like the Asgard, Valkyrie, Starlancer TAC, Paladin etc?
By the way, any anons who want something before the end of Invictus at cost, I can you set up with Chairman's Club skins or other extras. Any new players who want vintage packages that have both SQ42 and SC keys built in etc... I've got a fair amount of those too. Think we've got until 5/27 at 20:00 PST.
>>1772895>Those of us with Idris all ready, the "old" Idris-P upgrade kit seems to give all the stuff of the new K kit, right? The original one comes with LTI written on the box, neither of the new ones mention LTI. The new warbond one comes with extra clothes that neither the original nor store credit version comes with. Excluding those two things they're otherwise identical
>>1772895>What's the opinion on dropships and gunshipsAFAIK CIG haven't put out a dedicated short-range drop transport in the game.
The valkyrie series is fucking masive and would be overkill for just moving, say, 8-10 troops from a fob to a frontline.
And no, ancient, poorly thought out variants of ships do not count.
>>1772895>What's the opinion on dropships and gunships like the Asgard, Valkyrie, Starlancer TAC, Paladin etc?Asgard is great for mild drops, can fit a nursa and spartan in it so you can drop an entire squad with respawn/medical support. Fits a handful of the smaller ships as an alternative if you don't want to do ground crew drops, pretty fragile though so ensure there's not much shooting at you for the drops. Plenty of forward facing pilot firepower including missiles.
Valk has 50% more health than the Asgard and functionally equal pilot dps but can't transport anything larger than an ursa. Tac is a "does everything pretty well" but is outshone by pretty much anything dedicated to what you want, I'd say the only dropships it's better than is the hoplite and Cutlass Steel. Prowler just got a gold standard pass in evocati (because it's getting a ship variant in the next patch or patch after that) but the exact changes haven't been shared yet. Paladin isn't out yet but on paper is nuclear levels of busted with 4x S4 pilot guns and 4x S5 gunner weapons which makes it an absolutely disgusting 2 man ship and there's no way it actually stays that way.
>>1772905Huh. All right. Hey, can you still see the old kit if you look now? It used to be on the store the other day, but now I don't see it. If you find it what is it under?
>>1772911I assume you mean the Vanguard Hoplite and Cutlass Steel, but what about the Prowler then? Also what about some of the "gunship" types that seem to also carry a certain amount of jump seats or what?
>>1772915Thanks. If Valk has more health and is larger, but it can't drop larger vehicles what's its big advantage? Also does anyone remember if Valk has a special (either chairmans club or perhaps it was a special event/warbond) skin?
>>1772895>What's the opinion on dropships and gunships like the Asgard, Valkyrie, Starlancer TAC, Paladin etc?Overpriced & undertuned useless pieces of shit. What are you going to do with them?
Assguard is a cargo ship.
>>1772919>can you still see the old kit if you look now? It used to be on the store the other day, but now I don't see it. If you find it what is it under? It was removed a day or two after invictus started and only the new ones remained. I have seen no explanation on why it was removed.
>Thanks. If Valk has more health and is larger, but it can't drop larger vehicles what's its big advantage?Valk is like half the size of the Asgard but is still a big ship for what it does, it's a pretty old ship so it's just extra chunky because that's how ships were back then and it's running a small handful of S2 shields instead of S3's like similar ships of its size do. It has 3 "unique" paints, Valkyrie Liberator which was an exclusive warbond ship package sold on Valkyrie launch for a limited time (Goes for $1200-$1400 on the gray market now), the 2951 IAE Valkyrie skin which goes for like $600 (CCU'd/standalone ship) or like $200 for the CCU upgrade. It also has a Foundation Festival skin which you can unlock once a year during the foundation event.
Valkyrie is almost 20mil ingame. Asgard, at best, will be in the 14-18mil range. Thats a lot of doe! Almost 3 corsairs worth of money.
When losses start to matter that ship will be shit. Unless you stick to space only or you are actually transporting vehicles ofc.
>>1773142but the asgard is also shit in space. Same maneuverability as the connie, same size, but severely lacks hull hp, shielding, and power
>>1773144Greed wins in VHRT, ERT and ship scavenging (weapons/cargo/components). Its all about the "size of the box" you got. Land business its different because you are more exposed and small is more practical sometimes.

The ironclad is supposed to come out this year first because they're using it to build the assets used in the Kraken.
But they keep making variants of existing ships or ships that fulfill the same role as others first. So who the fuck knows when the Ironclad or the Kraken will become available.

Can you actually drag a ship with this thing to your hangar so you can loot it? Is the hangar always large enough for what you carry? Hows persistence if you leave the ship somewhere and then get back?
fun fact: the ATLS isn't a ship entitie, it's actually an actor in the files. Functionally you are just mounting an incredibly deformed human with special textures, meshes, and animations.
Invictus items sales go away at 20:00PST (ie 23:00 EST) right?
>>1773355Me and buddy went to a bunker and got shot by the AA turrets, major torque imbalance, blown off thruster, crashed land in some hills. We loaded up on food and water and trecked almost 8km to the bunker, cleared it and searched abandoned player ships looking for a ride out. We found a damaged ursa medivac but all the ships were soft killed or had blown fuses. Then, I see in chat a guy saying he will do search and rescue and tow your vehicle for 20k aUEC. Hired him on the spot. As heโs coming in, we realize we havenโt taken the turrets offline yet, my buddy and I scramble to shoot the turrets, the Argo comes in, gets shot by a couple turrets but lands safely on the opposite side of a hill. We walk over and hitch a ride to Everus harbor, he shows us a table and bed, asks if we need water or food. His ship was damaged. We get to Everus and as we are landing in his hangar we are repositioned into the habs. I sent him a friend request. We are friends now. He can be sure, that wherever he finds himself needing help, even in the most dire of circumstances, my friend and I will answer his call. He need not ask.

Still, I think it sets a pretty shitty precedent. I was more annoyed about the S3 bombracks. That shit actually changes gameplay for ships like the Gladius, turning it into a fighter bomber.
>DropshipsGarbage and will never really have a niche until combined arms are a thing.
>GunshipsThe multicrew tax is still too expensive. Multicrew ships need to be exponentially better than bringing single-seat fighters. Turrets especially need MASSIVE buffs to tracking, ammo count and projectile speed. While ships like the HH are incredibly fun to play with 5+ friends, the reality is that they all suck ass and can get fucked by a solo fighter pilot.
>>1773989You sound like a faggot zoomer who boils down shit into a meta.
>>1774027the meta is all that matters while trying to remain competitive. saying you don't want to be competitive in a pvp sandbox is the same as saying you enjoy being a doormat for others
>>1774034It becomes truly blackpilling when you realise this is how the average CIG dev and department lead actually thinks.
It also explains why the game has shifted into just being a pvp themepark.
>>1774027Look you can enjoy sawing off your leg and limping through the desert all you want, but don't call me a faggot zoomer for saying that that just doesn't sound fun. It's quite the projection on your part too. I'm not a LF meta fag circlestrafing and corkscrewing around HHs in an Arrow or Gladius. But you do you, anon.
>>1773997Agree on all but one thing.
MC tax IS way too high, but it's kinda mitigated now by the biggest MC ships being so op.
If Im flying Polaris and have a single gunner, I beat or stalemate everything in the game, including another Polaris.
The argument is still the same though. 4 Polaris Vs 1 Polaris with 4 people or 2 Polaris with 2 people. And you get diminishing returns from each crew member where you should be getting increased returns.
And this powercrept multi crew we have right now of course is a step more retarded when you enter Idris to the equation. Where it's the exact same thing but now Idris is untouchable (esp. After hangar door buff) to everything, Polaris is untouchable to everything but Idris.. what else can you call it but pay-to-win?
I wouldn't do Hathor mining without Polaris/Idris for example.
>>1774068>>1774027You guys are retarded, what PvP lol.
SC is barely a game, it's far better as a RP/do nothing platform than it's as a PvP game. You have to be pretty bad to think otherwise.
You sound like the guys we fuck up on daily basis trying to grief while we do the shitty events.
>>1774071You got me there, I guess I'm wrong now.
>>1774073yup, I accept your concession dude
>>1774074Enjoy being bad.
>>1774069The question that neither of us can really answer is what CIG has for longterm plans about MC (lmao as if they have any). The issue with large ships like the Idris/Polaris/Whatever is that nobody just wants to be a single-button pusher. Like the torpedo operator on a Polaris - totally stupid and boring gameplay. NPC crews and Blades will be necessary to compensate for that...
But then you have the issue you described, why not have everyone bring their Idris? My hot take would be to split systems into PVP and PVE zones. NPC crew would be too scared to fly in PVP zones, which would force MC.
Idk, there are definitely many angles to the MC issues.
>>1774075well enjoy you know, heh
>>1774070I'll re-iterate my point. PU pvp is never going to be competitive or skill based, there are too many variables. Ships all parties are flying is one, Number of participants is another, location, server performance, pc performance.. skill is pretty damn down on the list. There is a reason why the self-professed best pvp players usually play as swarms on PU. And I'm not a pve guy, I really love the idea of there being Piracy. But CIG has removed piracy from the game pretty much completely. Communication tools to parlay have been completely neglected for years - leaving the people who'd like to do that, and the people who'd like to hunt people who do that - with only one option. "Griefing", or killing helpless targets for no gain. PvP in PU is a joke and will always be a joke. Now people enjoying the game for what it is, RP or whatever exploration bullshit the original backers liked- these people are not the pve people who cry about griefing or pvp in general, nor are they the pvp guys who cry about the pve guys. Let these immersion guys enjoy the game, at least someone is.

What are the odds Chris pulls a "Freelancer" sells his shit and bails with backer money lol?
>>1774318Something will go down massively when the Calders use their put option.
People focus on his Freelancer escapades but they also seem to forget his scamming of the film industry after Freelancer. Chris managed to get away with defrauding the German government and then afterwards moved onto...oh SQ42.
>>1774369you can't defraud the germ*n government, it's not possible

>>1774369>muh CaldersYour info is ancient they already stayed their bet, probably ride or die at this point.
>>1774403The put option is in 2028. SQ42 has to make over 100 million to stop the Calders rinsing CIG. Yes the Calders stayed the course for now, but only because they are playing the long game.
SQ42 is the turning point for Star Citizen and we all know it's going to be a shitty movie video game with shitty dumbed down controls for the console kiddies.
>>1774375Chris used a tax loophole. Quick Google:
"Private investors could put their dough in a special fund and claim a tax write off for any money spent on German movie/TV production. Most of this money ended up getting spent on Hollywood films with little to no German involvement (the whole point of the scheme in the first place - boost local film industry)
Ascendant Pictures/Chris received hundreds of millions of dollars (I can't find an exact figure) from one of these funds (VIP Mediafonds) to make an entire slate of pictures.
Only 20% of the money actually got spent on movies. The remaining 80% got funneled through a series of shell companies (sound familiar?) and siphoned off as 'consultancy fees' for the VIP Mediafonds crew.
Chris and co would then get bank loans for the missing money using the 80% as collateral. Investors in this scheme weren't told this, and any profits from the films had go to paying back the bank loans.
The whole thing eventually collapsed, the German government closed the loophole, the investors sued and the head of VIP Mediafonds went to prison.
Chris and Ortwin Freyermuth were summoned by a judge to answer questions during the trial (basically, 'what happened to all that money bro? wheres the contracts? etc'). They sold Ascendant Pictures 10 days before their scheduled appearance and were able to avoid having to testify under oath. Good piece of timing.
All three main guys from Ascendant now work at CIG btw. Another Ascendant guy later went to prison for a separate fraud after he conned a retired firefighter out of his life savings"

110% we are getting a prowler variant for alien week, the component access is now a walk in textureless closet with a replace me ball door and well laid out component system and engineering panel, it was a simple hatch access panel before.
>>1774474I'm pretty convinced now that when an older ship just gets broken to shit randomly it's because they are working on a variant.
>>1774474Data leaks and a gold standard pass pretty much confirm this. Still no new Vanduul ship models, no Railen, no Banu Merchantman, Syulen is utter shit and all the other Alien ships are fucked.

I don't think he'll actually run out of money I think he will continue to squander vast amount of dev time and money on flights of fancy and bad "reworks" that make the game worse until something puts a stop to it, which may be him dying of old age rather than any deadline or lack of funds.
Point is the dude has no self control or ability to say "maybe we'll do that later, once the bones and flesh of the game are made" Radical course changes keep happening ten+ years in. For many years there have been all kinds of discussions, plans, meetings, you name it about this gosh darn hole. And you know what? They've been working on it. Boy, have they been working on it. They've been working on it this whole time! It's still a hole, but a hole with -progress-.
I wish you guys the best. What you're playing right now and have been playing is the game you're getting, is the experience you'll remember: the hype is real, so to speak. Enjoy it while it lasts. The hole is happy how it is.
for my next trick I predict hawk variants for 4.3
>>1776440I assume the Freelancer is a very modern ship with no need for a remake whatsoever. The middle cargo section proves it.
>>1776470no it's the top airlock that proves it, sq42 is still using the top and bottom airlock retaliator as per the most recent images after all.
>>1776470>Freelancer remake>S3 bombs>relatively cheap>plenty of cargoThere goes the C1/Zeus sales to shit.
>>1776440Scanning ship, just to fuck with ghost hornets.
>>1776481To be fair the C1 is the absolute worst ship in its category besides maybe aesthetic. It does literally nothing that any other ship in its class doesn't do better, and even the cutty is arguably a better ship for the role of medium tractor-beam freight despite having less cargo space.
The MSR is garbage too. They need something to justify their existence like, I dunno, super speed like the MSR used to have or something.
this ship is so comfy with the correct lighting
it's like max comfy
>>1776581>the C1 is the absolute worst ship in its category besides maybe aestheticZeus ES says hi. Worse maneuvering, worse firepower, worse cargo, worse vital health for a tiny bump in shield strength.

>>1776581Doesn't MSR has the data storage thing that it is supposed to be its unique capability that's not implemented yet and that CIG might have forgotten about?
exist any cool histori of star citizen or any corp like in eve?
i heard mg scrip isn't used for favors in 4.2, should I be turning them in now?
>>1776481When the Freelancer was superior to the Cutlass Black at the same price, there was no love and respect for the Freelancer. SC's playerbase don't know what a good ship is.
>>1776402i would coom for this
this jacket remove the bra censoring it's pretty cool
>>1776581The C1 major con is the cross section. I mean the actual detection range (the fuck with the area, its a PvE ship anyway).
I get the top is quite large (although it should still be smaller like 17-18k max and drop to like 14-15k max when wings fold). The side is just beyond ridiculous.
Its a pity because the amount of ungrided volume for the price is quite good. Also tractor.
>>1777385*It should also surpass the cutlass in top speed in a straight line (and possibly have at least the same accel). Its a pancake that sacrifices shields ffs. It should have something in return.
>>1777385I just looked up the stat comparisons between the cutlass and the C1, and holy shit.
These two are supposed to be comparable ships btw
>>1777404I understand the cutlass being more agile but speed wise it should be the other way around with the C1 actually being faster (only in a straight line).
>>1777404well you see the cutlass is a light-heavy fighter hybrid and the c1 is crusader and thus fat and bad
>>1777404Cutlass got some decent agility buffs a few months back out of nowhere so it used to be a far lesser gap.
I did some PvP at contested zones with the parallax rifles.
Are the people there just extremely shit at FPS, or is the rifle just that OP?

>>1779882The files say yeah, it's valakaar pearls only now unless they change their minds last minute. They also lowered the number of favors needed for ships by about half.

>>1779891The bonkers thing is they reduce the favors while simultaneously making the favors only earnable from a group PvE event in a PvP zone and also requiring you to run a solo PvE mission about 160 times if you want a medium or larger ship. Even if you use a capship with a crew to run the biggest patrol mission its still 48 missions total...for a Constellation Taurus at best. What the fuck is wrong with them.
>>1780297I keep saying; what most of us want is a personal sandbox where we can invite people in, and what the PvPers want is being able to invade that sandbox.
Forced PvP drives out the former, ultimately leaving the latter with little reason to stay.
"Starkov" gameplay inherently does not function in a persistent universe; without instancing, any sufficiently attractive and popular point-of-interest is going to be gate-kept by orgs. It MAY work in a game world that is so large randomly encountering a player amongst a sea of NPC is like finding a needle in a haystack, but we all know a game so extravagantly large is not feasible.
I personally think it's not a good idea to chase after the EVE or the "Starkov" crowd, but that's just me.
>>1780353>It MAY work in a game world that is so large randomly encountering a player amongst a sea of NPC is like finding a needle in a haystack,You just described Elite Dangerous. The thing is when you find a player itโs 90% of the time a murderhobo in a max upgraded ship thatโll try to instantly rape you. The other 10% might as well be bots that refuse to interact with you at all.
>>1780353Thank god they don't care about what you and your ilk think.

>>1779401Yeah even with the respawn changes on this weekends PTU patch its still going to boil down to TDM. 6 months into the year of "Stability and Content" And all we've gotten is rehashed Star Marine and AC maps for open world PVP. Kinda expected more.
>>1779476Yeah Stormbreaker is the marketing name for it. Kinda like Hathor.
>>1780353Murder Hoboing is not new. I've been doing it since the PU launched. PVP / Ganking is the only complete content loop in this game. Its tiresome. It's painfully clear NOTHING will change until we get underlying connective systems in the game. Overhauls socials/chat. Orgs in game. Law and order overhaul (Never ever) shit - even turning off com arrays hasn't really changed since the early PU days. They should be akin to a mini dungeon or firefight.

What are the absolute most common FPS weapons in the game? Some combo of Sniper/AR + SMG that is not complete dogshit. Some combo that works for both Pyro and Stanton so you never run out of ammo.
P4 and C54?
>>1781119you can get ammo for pretty much every weapon at any shop so you can run whatever weapon you want without worrying about ammo.
That said
>common weapon>combo of sniper/ARprobably the Karna rifle.
>>1781119I like the S71 the most. It's been more common on enemies these days, has good ammo economy, can be silenced and has a lot of good options for scopes from 1x RDS to 4X scopes. Of course the P8-AR has better damage per shot but I find the 15rd mags to be very anemic. The S71 can deliver quicker follow-up shots easily, too. I also love to run the P8-SC SMG, S1 suppressor can be bought pretty much anywhere and you can quickly magdump people in a pinch.
>>1781172If you are doing outpost shit taking those long shots or if you are saving on ammo the S71 is the gun. But for TTK the P4 is slightly better and also fully automatic.
The P8-SC is underrated. That thing must be one of the best weapons with a tweaker compensator (I think thats the one with increased RoF) and laser pointer to maintain spread values. Quartz-tier TTK on that shit without light obfuscation and decent accuracy (for a smg).
On a side note: I think CIG is fucking up the games lore. Volt guns were supposed to be cheap low quality shit and Gemini was supposed to be elite and above Behring (rich prick guns). Its not looking that way.
>>1781281*P4 with mods (tweaker+laser), otherwise its dogshit.
>>1781281I think they are ultimately heading to all the current guns being "tier 0" of the crafting system. Eventually on your ships you'll want to replace your M5As with M5Bs and M5Cs.
Its really weird when you read the lore for the Sakura Sun "-fire" guns that still aren't in the game yet and they list out the complete set of "improved version" suffixes.
>>1781341Where does one fine this lore?
>>1781378They posted it on the website long ago, it's compiled into the star citizen wiki.
https://starcitizen.tools/Sakura_Sun
>Each MP/WC size has five production models, that range in quality and price from basic to extreme luxury class. EX, DX, X and XT are the standard range, plus a fifth model that is produced in extremely limited numbers and given a "2ร01" numerical designation (Breezefire 2101, Windfire 2201 and the like). These are extremely prized, and even older models sell for a significant amount on the secondary market. So once they finally implement crafting tiers, the Stormfire EX would be the base level Size 3 energy gatling, the XT would be the top crafted version, and the 2301 would be the "special reward" version.
Note that they wrote this in 2013 and we still don't have energy gatlings for whatever reason.
>>1780170The only people who used torps were dumbfiring at melee range so it's a direct attack on their playstyle
>>1781287>P4 with mods (tweaker+laser), otherwise its dogshit.Does the laser have to be on for it to take effect? I can't tell the difference.
>>1781119>Some combo of Sniper/AR + SMG that is not complete dogshit. SR71 with 3X scope, compensator and scorched flashlight.
A03 with X16 telescopic and laser pointer.
Don't use SMG's. Too much kick at medium range and they burn through too much ammunition. If you're a decent shot, the SR71 will do the same but with a far better ammunition economy.
This matters more in Pyro and less in Stanton. Pyro is an endurance run most of the time, Stanton is loaded with all kinds of ammunition and gear.

if I steal someone's ship and they then claim it or log off, does it disappear?
>>1782694no, at least not immediately

>>1781742Old post but laser pointer reduces weapon spread. Its on Dabalta sheet. Otherwise nobody would use it ever.
>>1782458Solo its prolly the Raft (not a fighting ship at all), the Asgard and Taurus in this order. Last 2 are basically VHRT/ERT farming ships.
Fug, I didn't think about it clearly before now. But I just realized the new Prowler is an EMP emitter ship. Ofcourse it is, thats why the fucking distortion changes.... CIG never fixes anything without a ship to sell with it.
Will they fix small drug packages so they actually stick to grids like the CSV-SM and mule or even allow us to store them inside containers?

what's the best ship for rip and runs?
>>1782832C2 is most definitely not a solo ship. The Starlancer can be flown solo (the max) but I think its overkill (thats where the line get blured). And its only good for space stuff. Corsairs and Taurus are like the top tier jack of all trades for PVE (land and space). For land only you always go smaller.

>>1782458Hull series since it supports station auto-loading and auto-unloading (when it isn't broken lmao) so you only need a single person to simply fly it and the larger variants hold obscene amounts of cargo.
>>1782818Distortion changes were most likely done for the new event but I do agree that it's probably an EMP/Distortion Prowler due to the associated faction also being a producer of disruption weaponry so it makes sense to pair a ship with the updated mechanics. The new event location utilizes distortion damage to shutdown your ship but players had no idea it was happening due to no UI indication that you're taking distortion damage so they added it to the UI. Then players were dropping bombs and torpedoes on the new boss from orbit so they added distortion damage to missiles/bombs/torpedoes. I'm guessing it'll be 2x S5 or 4x S4 Distortion Repeaters(which might even be the event reward for the cross-shard event they're doing) for the pilot and 4x S2 laser gatlings for the slaved co-pilot turret.

>>1790689Too bad the Mantis doesn't work, and good luck convincing anybody to manually offload cargo from a Reclaimer.
Is there any under suit that doesn't clip through the legs of Arden-SL armour. It's really fucking janky.

You can find a list of recommended pvp orgs on there. JW also does his own fighter pilots ranking system, the last time I looked shadow moses had the largest amount of top tier pilots.
>>1790695the jammer works fine you can keep people locked to SCM just fine if you can find someone, the server meshing snare issues are pure bullshit though, we used to be able to triangulate jumps to close in and interdict a mission target running in deadspace, now you need a nat 20 to interdict someone on a direct path through you.
>>1784194>also I HATE the way they mounted the guns. they should have been in the wings not jutting out of them and they block visual and look awkward, so much so they have to articulate out of the way when it lands. If you double-tap "P" to toggle weapons power, they will stay retracted and still fire normally. It's probably only on your client, but they aren't blocking your view.
>New Prowler variant is a cargo ship
For fucks sake
>>1793024>32 SCUGood one Chris.
>Kraken? no no, sorry, it's not ready yet
>here have a CARGO PROWLER instead
AAAAAAA
>>1793028>Super advanced ayy lmao tech gets mogged by some dude in a Cutlass BlackDrake CHADS stay winning once again
>>1793098It has lower IR/EM than a Sabre, out DPSs heavy fighters while being as nimble/fast, and has the same shields as the Asgard. How can Drake beltalowda slop even compete?
>>1793110It has three doors, a turret, used Corolla pricing, room for small vehicles, and a flask you permanently borrowed from your Corsair buddy. It's also plenty nimble and has a smallish footprint which, combined with the side doors, make it great for loot n scoot, especially if you load it out with stealth components.
It also doesn't look like a literal fucking bird.
>>1793117>20gs of thrust in VTOLLet's not be modest anon
>>1793117>smallish footprint>Cutlass
>>1793024All the variants players came up with are so much better. What is cig doing
>Atls carrier>Emp pulse ship>Laser beam ship
>>1793110>It has lower IR/EM than a SabreIsn't the prowler a size 2 ship (size 2 components)?
Does everything just shit all over the (base) Sabre now? Hornet Ghost has about the same signature and has much more firepower, Firebird shits missiles and is faster, and now the Prowler variant is basically a heavy fighter with room for cargo and yet has a similar signature.
>>1793239To be fair it still is an atls carrier
>>1793024I'm a bit confused as to why they downgraded the weapons on it. It's only slightly more stealthy than the cutlass black outfitted with stealth components in practical terms due to crossection bottlenecking stealth and has inferior handling and less cargo SCU plus can't carry vehicles and has no bed. This is such a hyper niche ship and I don't even see the niche it has being remotely practical, you don't have enough SCU to run actual cargo and even if you ran high value cargo stealth isn't going to do anything for you since you either have to land at an extremely visible pad to load/unload cargo or you need to go to a station and request a hangar which will get you jacked because you have a 2k+ crossection while you wait for a hangar to be assigned and open. There's no remotely feasible instance where the extra 1.5-2k detection range on the cutlass black will get you caught whereas you would've slipped by in the new prowler.

They fried the PU servers, it's so joever
>>1793309Think of the high value shit you have to carry though... scrip for Wikelo exchange, yoinking A rank s1 comps from PAF battery rooms someone else opened, or maybe getting the new worm loot out in 4.2. Having that shit on a cargo grid is safer. I wonder if you could yoink the comps from a PAF battery room with the tractor while not even getting out or landing.
The ways they made it shittier than the base Prowler are pretty disappointing though, it's like some of John Crewe's "FUCK heavy fighters" mental illness acted up and he made it gay and lame before returning to fellating an Idris.
>>1793788I've had 0 problems lugging wikelo's trash, but stealing comps i can see
>>1793800This btw is kinda weird. Granted for some stupid reason they made 3 wikelos. But even still you'd imagine it would be the most valuable place to pirate out of everywhere - and they have no turrets. Yet I never see any pirates or anyone there, it's almost like anyone with brain has given up on pirating and the people who still do pu pvp are braindead.
>>1793837The armistice zone there is enormous. It makes pirating there virtually impossible.
With snaring basically unusable, you can't effectively grief these Space Casino Slot players.
>>1794012I see, that explains it.
>>1794012you would think that until you understand you can just ram people coming in to land and have friends on standby to loot the wreckage
>>1794050how can anyone kill me with ramming when I go there in an Idris?
>>1793837I once had someone in a Hornet try to plap my Zeus I was lugging my gambabux in at the Yela Wikelo station, but I just flew past him at max NAV speed into armistice and that was that.
>>1790289The problem with hovertanks is they're obnoxious about what vehicles fit into what ships, and a hovertank would have a super low profile unpowered and then shoot up six feet powered. So you'd have a tank that could fit in the same place as an Ursa as long as you had a Maxlift to carry it out before turning it on.
Not a problem for players, but a problem for the CIG sales department who want to keep selling Asgards and M2s.
>>1795059Yeah. Love bullshit like the C1 having two useless tabs on the floor that are purely there to stop you from fitting anything bigger than a Cyclone onboard.
>>1795059Don't worry, they'll just make it so physically massive in some random direction that it doesn't fit into anything short of a C2
the idris doors being blown open with a light breeze is bullshit, how did cig not test that at all?
>>1796483been fixed since the beginning of 4.2 ptu, probably was that way due to the board the idris events
>>1796645It isn't though, the Idris doors still have less health than the Polaris one.
>>1796837The Idris back door is 350k and front doors are 100k each the Polaris hangar is 300k now.
>>1797126so 1 railgun and all your ships are destroyed
>>1797127If you have that kinda insane luck them at best 2 and even then it's probably just going to got the shield edges of a ship inside and do no damage.
Turbulence mechanics need a lot of work, there seems to be only 1 control law for the ifcs so it will continually pitch you up over time trying to maintain 1g.
since alien week is coming, is the glaive still a 300$ piece of shit despite it's size 5 cannons ?
>>1797616No, it's a $350 piece of shit. None of the alien ships are of note except the prowler due to having heavy fighter handling and mounting 2x S3 and 2x S5 but it catches both the alien tax and dropship tax. They've all been powercrept out of existence, to the point the cutlass black is on par with or exceeds all the alien fighters.
>>1797635I thought the blade was still good as a light fighter ? I guess the talon was also left behind in the stealth department
I've got a khartu al as my only pledge ship and I swear since "master" mode the poor thing's sluggish now but I don't want to switch ship
>>1797675Talon is great right now and is getting a buff. Prowler and it's upcoming variant are dogshit.
>>1797744at this speed maybe i'll see a apopoa buff in 4 years or when they release another useless fucking variant rather than fixing what's already there
>>1797769Melt or upgrade to a blade or something. Sorry bro ;_;
>>1797807No it's fine. I'll keep the lobster ship even if it's disabled, I love it's design too much.
It's just weird to see some ships / line up just left in the dust like the aliens, CNOU or Origin.
320$ for the prowler variant lmao
>>1798445not just a prowler variant, but an inferior prowler as well. I really wonder what use case they had in mind for such a ship as the prowler utility. I wonder how many man hours were spent in meetings and design reviews to produce, what is essentially, a shittier cutlass with a stealth bonus.
>>1798655steal from the mining orgs
>>1798655Not even that stealthy it has a Crossection of 10k.
>>1798445Consider the following.
The Anvil Asgard is the same price.
>prowler utility says flight ready
>isn't in live
GIMME THE SHIP I PAID FOR ROBERT
>>1799409>this fucking rube spent $300 on a cargo ship with 32 scu
>>1799422all ships in this gaame are bad so i just melted everything to try it out, will assuredly melt it when the next thing comes out
