I've been playing ESO recently. Bought a month of ESO+ to try it out. They give you 2 companions with ESO+. I did the quests yesterday, and my god, I could not believe the female High Elf was a real character. they/them. purple dyke haircut. le quirky chungus borderlands tier dialogue. I genuinely could not believe it. I could not believe that they would put such a character in an Elder Scrolls game. The undead Azurah Khajiit on the other hand was pretty cool, but that High Elf, my god. It was painful.

There's like a 50/50 people actually follow you and wait for you, or you have a guy with 2000 hours in the game running normal dungeons for some reason who sprints ahead and kills every mob group in half a second

Also, the vast majority of starting dungeons are just a straight line and require no mechanics. They're a good way to practice pulling aggro

I see everybody playing Oblivion and I'd like to download ESO again and playing all the storylines I never played back then. I stopped playing around summerset release and I see that there is a lot of new content have been released in the past years.

Ah right, got mixed up. There is Transmutation system added with Clockwork City, in that zone or at home with transmute station unlocked. You can change any trait to another you know, expending transmutation crystal. I don't exactly remember, but it should work for no trait items, it technically recrafts the item completely with new trait. And you must do it yourself, item gets accountbound.

You'll need to get rid of one of your Templar skill lines. Any skill points you invested in that skill line will be refunded so you can use them in the Warden skill line you pick. You'll lose access to the Templar skills and passive on the line you choose to get rid of, so it's a balancing act. Choose the one you use the least or get the least benefit from. I got rid of Nightblade Shadow tree since it's mostly magicka based and replaced it with a stamina Warden Animal Companion skill line

Subclassing only serves 2 purposes right now.
1. I want to be a top parsing meta DPS fag and run assassination + laser beam + the third thing

Subclassing is dumb because each class was built with it's two subclasses in mind. Diluting the pool, unless highly optimized, is kinda pointless

Personally, and this is kinda why I asked the question, I don't really like Warden. I have an old level 50 Templar from like 10 years ago and I don't really like that either, so I was hoping that subclassing would breathe some life into the Warden. If I'm mistaken I'd rather know now so I can level a different class instead of committing.

Has the starting experience changed in the past year or so? I only have a low level character but I am thinking of restarting it if the low level experience has improved. Do NPCs still nag you to join all the expansion and guild quest lines?

I like that since all zones are equalised and worth doing since you need skill points and since there's tecnhically no upper level any and all exp gain is worth getting (so sidequests are very much worth doing) there's no single zone in the game that won't be somewhat populated. You need ESO+, or Greymoor for Scrying. You can pick it up in Solitude, in Western Skyrim at the Antiquities building. Then you'd have to grind a bit to level it up enough to be able to Scry for Mythic items. There's a few good ways to do it.

But yeah Pale Order is a staple for solo'ing. For Stam Warden I'd look at things like Order's Wrath or Essence Thief. Basically for Solo'ing you want to stack as many self buffs like Savagery etc., while having decent DPS out and self-healing. Pale Order will cover a lot of healing, the other buffs you can find mostly through class skills or Fighters Guild/Mages Guild.

From the one's I've actually used extensively, in order of preference-

>Good:
Mirri: Classic adventurer personality, nothing special. -Affinity for bug harvesting is really obnoxious, though it's only -1. Perk is extremely good; any chest, not just treasure chests, can give bonus loot. Is S-tier in combat. Can stun entire mob groups or is an extremely strong tank. Have used her to great effect in Nymics and Dungeon solos etc.
Sharp: Hard carried by personality and voice acting. Is completely fucking useless in combat no matter the build. Perk is amazing for Angler achievements.
Ember: Slightly quirk chungus, though not too offensive. Has a few amusing lines, but can't even hear what she's saying half the time because of accent+high pitch. Perk is meh unless you pickpocket 24/7. Is EASILY the best combat companion. Only good for DPS but her DPS output is better than most players.
Isobel: Is mostly fine but her naive, noble knight personality type gets a little grating. Has some of the best voice acting in the game because of Laura Bailey. Perk is completely fucking useless unless you're farming gear from Worldbosses, which is already easy. Is solid in combat as a tank or healer, but nothing special.

Azandar: Too lame. "That was intellectually stimulating!" after combat is mega-cringe. All he cares about is studying and research. It's just not intriguing, or amusing, or cool. Is dead-average in terms of combat, which for companions means is basically useless. On paper his perk looks S-tier, but it rarely if ever seems to actually proc.


Barely touched Bastian, Tanlorin or Zerith yet.
But I can already tell that Bastian is going to be similar to Isobel, and his and Tanlorin's perks fucking suck.
