The combat is fun, some classes are easier than others and its very ping reliant
There's a ton of RNG stuff when it comes to gear and gearing up is a slow process.
If you don't mind the grind, it's alright.
Most people here will complain about every single thing tho.
I'd recommend BM/KFM/BD/FM as initial classes.

My focus right now is helping those who are still missing soul shields and stuff like bloodmane card because that's something I can carry without bothering others, I know not everyone wants to run BSH1 when they can be running Hae or Tree, but if you want to help I'll take all the help I can get, if we get a few strong players we can help them in Hae instead of Mane.

Lately we just go to the lv 60 area and farm mobs while one us (usually me because assassin) roams every now and then looking for shrooms, as for bosses we try to stay near Lavender Tree and kill the ones that spawn there.
It also depends on our lineup since we dont really schedule our MSP runs, so if we have lower levels joining us we can focus on exp gain instead.

I'll be honest with you guys, I am looking forward to Start Resonance but I can say for sure if I'll get hooked or not.
Before NEO I don't even remember what was the last mmorpg I got hooked on, while I do enjoy the social aspects of these games a lot, I'm a grinder and a gameplay first kind of player at my core so if the game's not fun in that aspect then I probably won't get hooked.
I don't really go much into stuff like fishin or farming unless it's required or it's something I enjoy doing with someone else, but as single player content it's not something I look forward too, but I do enjoy just winding down and chatting with others so I guess I could do that at the same time as tending some crops or whatever.
Housing on the other hand it's stuff I really enjoy, anything that allows me to build and customize my own space, that's my Jam, I enjoyed the crap out of systems like that even when its super limited like PSO2's.
This is why I don't think I could get into XIV, because while the community seems like sometimes I could find myself getting immersed into, the gameplay looks boring as hell to me, games like BnS and TERA have ruined tab targeting for me, I can't really go back.
And even action combat doesn't always get me, I didn't enjoy BDO that much, and Gaccha based games like ToF and Genshin didn't do it for me, I've never considered gaccha games true mmorpgs (which is a stupid take I know) I like waifus as much as anyone else but if I'm playing an mmorpg, I want to play as my character and I don't want to be forced into a gender or look based on my class either (looking at you Vindictus)
I'm going to stop here because I'm reaching Alle levels of Text.

I left Neo Sek because I didn't play with most of them while I kept running parties with Crimson Clover, the only people I really talked to in Neo Sek were Aorrow and Luu, the others quit and the two I mentioned barely played at that point, we knew both clans would merge eventually so I just decided to move first.
