this is exactly why I'll never believe anyone claiming to be an old player unless they have sufficient video evidence at this point. password guessing accounts was easy as fuck and account dumps could easily be found with a single google search usually in pastebin links. for example, there was an account dump that had nearly 110k+ accounts, which has accounts ranging from 2009 to even 2015-2016.

I personally refused to do these things but I know people who did them anyway. im not sure if you can do that anymore as this was all a few years ago and these dumps were most likely datamined to hell, but if there's one thing clear, it's that there are no real old players anymore. they've all moved on from this platform. it's a shadow of its former self and honestly insanely boring unless you decide to join obscure communities, plus all of these people grew up already im not sure why they'd to be part of a game mostly kids play. i'll only trust people who claim they joined in 2015 minimum. 2014 and below, most likely bought, stolen or password guessed. sorry not sorry.

It really isn't that hard (most of the time) to tell once you start noticing the patterns, you'll hone your ability to tell someone's age just by how they talk, what they talk about, what games they play, and so on.

hey rofags, I need help finding an old game. I played it from around 2013. It had the name from along the lines of "Noob vs Zombie Crossover ver.4.5" it has nothing to do with the classic brickbattle game noob vs zombie but had a the same title, it was very high effort for early 2013 and was one of my favorite games. Also for some reason the models for the noob and zombies all had their heads backwards, and it had like 50 characters from various videogames. the ones i remembered were herobrine, goku, pac-man with no face, mr game and watch and mario. How do you make a game that depends on the human element when you have 0 players??

1. Have a prior following so that once it releases, there'll be enough players to fill atleast one lobby.
2. Build up a following by posting development logs and/or proof of concept on youtube and twitter.
3. Design the game such that singleplayer is possible but sub-optimal, either by making the game more restrictive (some modes can't be queued up alone, bots perform some player actions, etc), or by adding a separate experience for singleplayer.
Anything but dropping your game dry and hoping players find their way there. It all comes down to what type of game you're making. I design my games to allow singleplayer play because of this, but if you're making something that just can't function without real humans on the other side (most notably social deduction games) you're somewhat forced to build up an audience and organize play sessions until a stable playercount is maintained. There's also dumping money on ads, but I've never tried that, so I can't say how well that works out long term.
