Going open with just a balance update would be retarded as hell. When they do decide to go open beta it should be with a swarm of new heroes, some visual updates to the map, and most of the heroes with at least base finalized models.
One of the major reasons Deadlock's initial reception was so lukewarm was due to Grey Talon's model being the very first leak.

Imagine you see this shit back in may of 2024 then they announce open beta a year and a half later and the ugly navajo grandma is still in the game.

Huge update sure. But Deadlock needs a proper big blowout and loads of polished content for a proper open beta reveal.

Valve needs to add at least one conventionally attractive hero with a rabbit or a fox motif before we even think of heading into open beta.
