Europe here, I don't really think it's that bad - but I've played over 1000 hours and i can tell very easily if someone is sus or not.
More often than not, people don't cheat, they just get a good hold.
Of course, the alarms go off when you eat a headshot from 70+m from mid run.

Haven't played in a year, is the spear still the only viable melee weapon? Does double fire trap still almost burn you completely? Did they fix the UI? Any other change I should be aweare of?

Spear got it's speed and damage nerfed, throwing axes now carry 3, knives 8.

I usually don't bother with a melee tool, there's no downside to bayonet weapons anymore, talons and trauma variants have more recoil though.

Alert trip mines burn 25 HP per trap, UI is still worse compared to pre-1896, but better than launch 1896.

All maps are now in the game, and rain is available for Desalle and Gulch. I think it's in a good spot now, if this was how 1896 launched it would have been a huge success.

I'm 2800 hours in

It's kind of moot to debate about how many hackers there are. There are people(like me) who obviously don't think there is much of an issue, but I've met people who tell me there is someone hacking in every game we play. In the end, no one really knows.

My own experiences with cheating in this game are as follows:
I notice people who derender foliage and other objects a few times a week. I've met people who use exploits to see further(up to 30ft) through fog. I've met people who mess with the EQ of the game so much that you wouldn't be able to tell the audio is from hunt showdown, but they can tell when you breathe in to ADS from 40ft away. I've met people who congregate in discords dedicated to selling and sharing cheats.

TL;DR hunt has the same amount of cheaters as any online game, probably a little bit on the lower end.

Why didn't anybody tell me how fun medium slot loadouts are? I've never played them until my current prestige and have to say it's a lot of fun. Once I get to medium range I feel very versatile and ready to fight in any situation.

the game going to absolute ass cancer 1-2 weeks before event ends till next event is one of the most consistent patterns i found in this game, i never really get burned out by the game itself, it just turns to garbage in patterns.

Game is like this every event, that's for sure. When event starts the player pool is completely bulked out. Even the most casual players are trying out the new content. Your lobbies are much more evenly filled and the majority of the people playing want to play wild and have some fun. At this point in the event there are a bunch of people who've quit and are taking a break until the next event starts. Everyone's finished the battlepass, bored of the event content, and waiting until crytek do something new before they play the game again.The only people hanging around now and until the next event starts are the no lifers and the sweats. People who play this game like a mil sim, people who sit on random parts of the map and try to snipe people to increase their kd, people who sit outside of scan range until they know they're the last team in the lobby to push. The absolute scum of the earth.

There is a chinese bili bili streamer(EU servers btw) with a 5.8kd who I get matched against sometimes. Usually it's not so often, but 4/5 days this week I've spent 4 hours of every morning getting slapped by this guy on repeat. I don't even feel anger when I die to him anymore it's just a sigh of resignation. I'm not sure if he's cheating or just completely cracked out on adderall but there should be at least 4 tiers of cyberpsychos between me and him in the match making.

Can't wait until they remove the gunrunner shit from the game. It was fun for a bit but there is not that much creative stuff I've done with it. Most people just take long ammo and a shotgun, and I am sick of pushing long ammo players only to be crowned in the face.

In terms of good gun runner loadouts my favorite is drilling+drilling. A lot of players instinctively try to move after they hear two drilling shots: "he's reloading, this is my chance to push/move". You fire your first two drilling shots and switch to your second drilling, often you'll see a guy running in the open or repeaking you from the same angle he's been fighting from. Often even people you tag with one of your first shots will be taking risks because they think it's their time to move. It will take teams quite a while to realize you've got two, and even when they realize the instinct to react to the two drilling rounds being fired is so strong; they've been training this reaction for 1000's of hours. The cadence of a double drilling player seems to be very hard for most players to adapt to.

If anyone else's got some creative gun runner loadouts, let me know.

my gripe is the matchmaking doesn't matter because it prioritizes full matches over rank and it fucks over people like me who play either randoms or solo with decent skill but no metaslave e-sport tryharding, after 2k+ hours its so obvious the game just has hidden mechanics and calculations based on player metrics to fuck you over. also i rarely find the super obvious hackers that headshot you 150m across walls with dual scottfields but its obvious how high KD players are all using variety of ESP etc even if they aren't aimbotting, its an entire subculture with lame fucking youtube montages and everything, the reshade clan crowd.

i wish they would make a new gamemode with souped up PVE, bad weather conditions/night, solo or duo only, restricted loadouts, that you could always load into even if there are no full matches to be made.
